Confirmation Letters through Website

I agree that costs us all extra money. I think having the option to do away with the mailing is a great idea. I'm going to send an email too...

Here is a bit of information that you might find useful. The cost to mail out a confirmation is $8.00 each, (Disney's estimate).

The new MS software has the ability to email confirmations but it isn't used. Maybe it will be a future option.

:scared1:  Are you kidding? This is insane. :sad2:

I have to admit, I was thinking about $1-$2 that we would be saving for each confirmation.

Now, I'm very  . I can't believe they are making us pay for this. This is seriously ridiculous.

Thanks to everyone who contacted MS with this! I'm hoping more will join in.::yes::

Don't forget, this is the loaded cost and the confirmations are probably printed and mailed in batches by a outside vendor to save money. Paper, postage, payroll, printers, folders, stuffers, computer time, it all adds up. How many thousand are printed and mailed each day?

When I worked for the phone company the loaded cost to process the paperwork to install a phone line was $80.00, this was several years ago and that was just the paperwork.

How much do you think it costs to process a phone call to MS? How many Members call for dumb reasons? When you call to make a ADR with MS, our dues are paying for the privilege. If you call WDW-Dine, we only pay for the phone call.

I think some prefer phone calls to help with their reservation and I can understand the expenses for that. (This could be reduced if we were able to book online) However, calling MS may be a necessity for some, but getting a paper confirmation is not.

I believe everyone would benefit with an email/website print your own method. Although some will still choose to have them sent, I can see a good number of people opting out in order to conserve.:)

I believe paper should only be sent if you request it. In some cases you might need it, say you have rented points to friends or family. A printed copy would then come in handy.

Yes, it should always remain an option to have a hard copy sent to you. But even in the case of rented points, once the member receives the email, they can just forward the email to the renter.
