Confessions of the Resort Changers

Wow! I've found my place among fellow resort changers! My family thinks I'm crazy calling CRO all the time. I'm trying to wean off, by calling only every other day :rotfl2: . We currently have 6 nights at Pop, followed by 4 nights at WL, woodsview. I really want to change the Pop to AKL. I'm sure this is the thread that people will support my decision! I haven't changed it yet, as I'm still concerned about the price difference. Since this will be our last WDW trip for a while, I want to do it right. DH said he would only stay Savanna view but it's too much $$. I'm thinking of booking poolview. I just think my DS (who will be turning 6) will love AKL. HELP!

I really hope CRO doesn't track how many times we call!

I am SUCH a resort changer. I seriously have called CRO every day the past 2 weeks. I have so many questions. Plus I confirm my confirms so.....

We were originally off-site, then POR, then POP (saved like $400), then ASmu preferred (saved even more $$$).

I had to go back and re read these last few posts......................ktink...can it be true????????:dance3:

All three of us under ONE, resort roof?:rotfl2: This is so exciting!!! But now, we have to pinky swear that we are all rehabilitated resort changers!!!!!:lmao: And not change resorts!!!!!:yay: :yay:

Snacks for everyone!!! lol popcorn::

Welcome to everyone else who has joined our little club here:goodvibes I have enjoyed reading all of these posts!!!!!!
It s just so nice to see that I am really normal...lol...and when someone's spouse thinks they are crazy :rolleyes1 for changing resorts so much......
just show them this thread:surfweb: !!!!!!!

So for those of you just joining in........
Myself, ktink and stepdisney have changed many resorts over this past month, and we have managed to end up at WL!!!!!! They are staying longer than I :sad1: but I think for the most part, at least 5 days all of us will be there on and off....:thumbsup2

We loved Crystal Palace, and it's right in the MK park. Also, I'm hearing 1900 park has the best Character Buffet food. I'm not sure if your Dkids are boys or girls. We can't do the princess dining because we have boys. Also, my DS's chose to stay at Pop out of all of the resorts the last time. We had a ball. If you think you may be cramped, maybe the suites at ASM? You would still have the fun icons for the children but more space.

MomtoprincessA,

Book pool view, you can have Ktink's old room :). Welcome to the thread. One good thing about changing resorts, if you don't like it, you can change it again. I would go for AKL if you don't know when you will be back. Book standard view and ask for Savannah when you arrive. They may just give it to you but be prepared to pay a little extra for it if you have to. :thumbsup2

Disneybride03

I'm so glad you are back. Couldn't wait to tell you the news. I almost sent you a PM but remembered that you were at your cabin this week-end. Doing the happy resort dance with you and Ktink. (We have to make her stay put!)

I'm staying put this time. Last night I felt like maybe I jumped the gun but DH REALLY liked the pictures. Then I made a pros and cons list. OCD, I know. And really WL does have several things that I love and won out on the list! Go figure.

Disneybride, it's true!

The kids still don't know. Which to be honest even if we'd told them they couldn't keep up w/ all the changes.:rolleyes1

Welcome to all the new members. I feel honored to be among you, it helps to know there are others out there.

On our first family Disney trip I booked WL and ny DH was mad I didn't book Poly or GF until Itold him the price. Well when we got to WL he loved it! It is still his favorite resort even after staying at the Poly. You won't be dissapointed. I know you wanted AKL but why chance hearing all that construction. Have a good trip.

Well a place for me. How nice! I havent accually called yet but have been driving dh crazy with all my talk of switching!!! he thinks Im nuts! I currently have POFQ booked but if I can switch to POP we will save around $1000. btwn my parents room and ours. Also I was worried about noise at POP (at night) I have sleep issues and mainly choose POFQ because it's supposed to be quiet. But POP looks so fun I know my kids would love it. If they get some openings do you all think I would have a good chance of getting in the 50's or 70's sec. lakeside? Right now POP is not available for my dates:sad1: so maybe its a sign from the room Gods. I really think having that boat to DTD may get me into trouble(luv to shop) but then I think If I switch to POP then there will be more money to shop with;) . Arrgh! I wish I could decide:confused3

I'm glad you said this. I, too, had been back and forth about AKL and it is good to know that your DH is a WL lover after one trip.

Ktink.:yay: :yay: :yay: . I am so glad that you are happy. I think we'll be glad about our choices. I did the pros/cons list, don't worry, all good resort changers do. What do your ADR's look like?

My Name is Jean & I am a resort switchaholic! :guilty:

It usually builds to a crescendo as the months draw nearer to vaca time!
I tend to switch the 1st & 3rd resorts until time runs out!

We do split stays (mostly) so you'd think this would be much less of an issue! :rotfl:
We do have a goal to try every on site resort--but nowadays, DS18's schedule doesn't allow him to have the longer time that we enjoy--so all new properties must be sampled as a family

This Nov/Dec trip we have the 1st 2 pieces in place (though I'd like to change it up a bit, DH is standing pat!) so now I will obsess on the last bit.
Should I book POP & hope for a code & switch?
pros: 1. themeing 2. price 3. cons: 1. no coffee pot! 2. Pop Warner
Should I book a mod?
1. CBR-sentimental fave 2. POR?FQ-we haven't tried, but Patrick won't be w/us 3. CSR-very convenient. I loved it! (Yes, I know what yr vote is Buzz! :teeth: )

Okay, on to the pros & cons for the Mods........

beachgirl001...I loved POP and definately had more $ to spend it was great. Keep checking your dates, POP seems to change availability alot latelty. Just know you will be happy whether mod or POP!

jonestavern....so glad you can admit it:) lol check over on the budget board, I started a coffee maker swap back in March!! Its still going strong, ask WDW 1st Timer over there...tell her DisneyBride'03 sent ya!! :) There should be 2 pot over there now, maybe your dates are available for at least one!!!!
FYI, I have had CBR and CSR booked at one time already for this next trip..lol

::cop: stepdisney, step away from your computer and your phone or we'll have to read you your rights.

I'm one to talk, huh?

kaysmommie, thank you for posting that it really makes me feel better!

Oh yeah, I'm a little excited because we had tried to book standard at WL and was only able to get woodsview. Well I called again this morning:rolleyes1 and standard was available. And I took it but put the requests in for 5th or 6th fl, northside.

I took the day off and DH asked me what I planned on doing. Well I got up this morning and took my car over to the dealership for some servicing. Then me and my mom went out for breakfast. When she dropped me off at the house she says to me, leave the Disney operators alone today.

:lmao: :rotfl2: My I almost choked on my chicken tenders! My DS is home today, Dr's appointment. He likes the Contemporary location and the momorail. He also likes the beach and I told him it was close to WL so we could take the boat over and see. He said can't we just take the boat from the WL to the Contemporary if we wanted to hang out on the beach? He also said that he doesn't like the pool and I have to agree. I just thought it would be nice to have that kind of view of the MK. If you get a moment, check out some of the views of wishes and the castle, they are absolutely beautiful. On second thought, don't look....

I'm also a switcher :rotfl2:

We knew that we wanted to go to Star Wars Weekends this year, so as soon as the AP discounts were released for that timeframe, I rushed on the website and booked WL. However, all they had was VWL studio. So I took it.

Two weeks later, a courtyard view w/bunkbed room was released at the AP rate for the same price as the studio. I switched.

Then....I started thinking. We'll be spending a majority of our time at MGM for Star Wars weekends and Epcot for the Flower and Garden Festival. Looked online and it was only a $35 per night difference for standard view at the Boardwalk. I looked at BC, but I'm driving dh crazy and he said that I should stick with BWI. Next time we go (in September) I'll do WL. I'm dying to check that place out.

However, it doesn't stop me from going on the website and seeing what rooms are available for the time that we're going. I swear this is a disease or something.

stepdisney, I've looked at the CR pics of Wishes. And just looking out over at the castle and space mtn. And their bedding almost puts me in mind of the heavenly beds at Swan & Dolphin. But I'm kind of like your DS the pool is what gets me.

Sorry about the chicken tender incident.

mayesq, you are correct in the fact that it's a sickness. I have to say that it looks like you're in the more serious stages of the RCD (resort commitment disorder) checking the websites on a daily basis. :)

stepdisney......Ok...I also priced out CR before changing to WL...but I am DONE:)
CR doesnt scream kid friendly to me and I think it looks like a big toaster..sorry CR lovers..I have never stayed, but the rooms do l@@k amazing:) And they are huge too!!!!!

I actually think its great that no one has popped on here yet and called us crazy...lol....BEWARE!!!

mayesq...nope, not a disease....Disney just makes it too easy to change your mind:)

Hi, my sister stayed at CR and liked it, however, they had a 2 bdrm suite and were put in the garden wing. She said it was quiet, however, it was a long walk to the main building w/ DS2 in tow. The best feature for her was the monorail & chef mickey.

I think you will love WL. It kind of suck you in to its charm once you are there. Originally, the first time I stayed their I just picked it b/c it was the cheapest near MK. I fell in love with it, the pool, gyser, lobbey, etc. I'm sure you will too.popcorn::

Disneybride, I have to say that toaster thing cured me. Thanks girlfriend. :) The bedding does look like heaven ktink. I would love to watch the castle all night from there. But you are right, the pool looks a little blah and the slide looks like it may fall away any minute (you do realize this is my idea of therapy). I am glad that CR is close enough that we can go right over and watch wishes if we'd like and take advantage of some of the best photo ops I have seen so far. I love that one photo that spans from WL to GF. They must have taken that one from the roof. That has to be the best photo I've seen on any of the threads.

How large is the resort? The walk can't be as long as POP was for us. I totally expect to be sucked in. I do love the geiser and the waterfalls. Staying so close to the MK is a great perk. I tell you I'm just happy that my DS did not notice the camp grounds or I fear we may have been staying in a tent. I doesn't care about showers and walls and lobbies and such.
