Confessions of an obsessive planner... Let the countdown begin!!

Hi, just noticed we'll be there the same time as you and we will be at the same MNSSHP :wave2: We're dressing as Donald & Daisy.

:wave2: We're very close!! Dh and I aren't dressing up but the kids will be Minnie Mouse and a Price Is Right Contestant. :thumbsup2

Price is Right Contestant - that's a great idea, I love it!!

Yep, he wanted to 'Disney' it up a bit so we're making him a shirt that reminds people to get their pets spayed or neutered with a pic of a very worried Pluto.

LOL Even better!! Great imagination. Now I'm gonna be looking for the Price is Right contestant at the party haha.

Good morning everyone! It is hard to believe that in just two short weeks we'll be packing up the car to go to the airport hotel. :dance3: I'll do a big dance tomorrow for 2 weeks to Disney but a little one today seemed in order as well. ;)

Today's countdown item is one of Jace's...

15: Lights, Motor, Action!

I originally wasn't planning to see this- it just has limited shows at not very convienent times. :confused3 But then when Jace watched the planning dvd he was hooked so I had to find a way to work it in. He just loves the idea of seeing the stuntmen on fire and the cars jumping and I know he'll love it so it was worth figuring out how to make it work (plus you know I loved that part). I know Robbie will really like this show as well which is great because I really want him to have a good time- his idea of relaxing is working on the lawn mower or cleaning up the yard so it can be difficult to please him on vacation. I think this and the Indy show may give him a bit of pixiedust: .

you are leaving in two weeks!!!!!!!!! :woohoo:

They will love it! I think we all enjoyed it, I'm sure it will be worth taking the time to see.

TWO WEEKS
:dance3: :cheer2: :dance3: :cheer2: :dance3: :cheer2: :dance3:

I can hardly believe we are so close! To be honest it seems like a long way simply because one of our good friends is getting married next weekend so right now it's all about wedding stuff. And Karen and I are doing the pictures. :scared1: Until that's over I just won't be able to relax and really feel like the trip is coming up soon.

Which brings me to the next item on my countdown:

14: Family Time

We actually spend a lot of time together- we homeschool so I'm with my kids ALL the time. However, we all have such varied interests and define fun and relaxation differently and I'm looking forward to spending time enjoying the same things. I think memories that last happen when you're having fun together and as my kids get older lasting memories becomes more important to me. I find myself wondering what they'll remember from their childhood- will they appreciate the time we spent together or will the times I nagged them about cleaning their rooms be what stands out? I'm not sure but I do think they'll remember fun family trips (and what could be more fun than WDW). They still talk about trips we took years ago and Kya especially loves looking at the photo albums so something is sticking. I'm looking forward to making more magical memories! pixiedust:

I wasn’t very excited about seeing Lights Motor, Action! Either, but my son insisted we do it We LOVED it. :yay: It’s a really cool show! So is Indiana Jones – another one my son wanted to watch even though my daughter and I had no interest. Now these are both must do’s for us every year :thumbsup2

Thanks Erin! That's good to know. :thumbsup2 I do think both shows look fun- I just wasn't sure how to fit it all in. When I decided that DHS was going to be about shows, not rides (well, a few rides, lol) for our family I relaxed about it.

I'm right there with you and the 2week dance of excitement!!!

I love reading your daily countdown!!! I may just start one for 2 weeks!!!!

You should- it's really made everything more exciting! :goodvibes

This next item on the countdown is technically from Kya's list but we are ALL looking forward to...

13: 1900 Park Fare! princess:

The food here gets mediocre reviews but the real appeal is, of course, the royal family. We've watched several videos on youtube and we love the stepsisters. :rotfl: Of course a little part of me (well probably a big part of me) is using this as an excuse to recapture the days when Kya was a princess loving little girl...

This is from Halloween when Kya was 3 or 4. A friend had given us her daughter's old dance recital costumes and I used one of them to make a Cinderella costume. I still remember how excited she was and I so wish we'd taken her to Disney when she was this size. So, this dinner is my way of keeping her interested in that princess phase that she's really outgrown- unless you throw in some funny stepsisters.

We enjoyed our 1900 Park Fare dinner in December. Cinderella was so-so but Prince Charming was very sweet and the Step-sisters and Step-mother were a hoot!
I can't believe less than 2 weeks for you!!!

Amanda

Oh my how tiny is Kya in that picture! I love it!

Less than two weeks! I can't believe it! And it's kind of good that you have a wedding next weekend, it will pass the time. When you're so anxiously waiting for something sometimes it seems to drag!

Lights, Motors action is really fun, you'll like it.

I think it's so amazing that you get to spend all your time with your kids! I get spending time together on vacation though, because vacation is different, it's something special and just not the same day-to-day. Plus, I think it's easier to be happy and easygoing on vacation, since sometimes at home that just doesn't happen!

I'm glad you enjoyed it! We are really looking forward to it! :lovestruc

I know! I love the ages of my kids now and every age is special in it's own way but these pictures just remind me of how quickly it all goes by!

Yep, the wedding is definately helping the time pass quickly. And when it's over I'll have lots (hundreds!) of pictures to edit while I'm also doing all the last minute prep for the trip so I don't think I'll have time to be anxious!

Lights, Motors action is really fun, you'll like it.

I think we will! I had wanted to see it all along it was just at such an awkward time that I was having a hard time fitting it all in. Once it became a priority for Jace I just made it work and now I'm really looking forward to it. :goodvibes

Haha, have you been peeking in at my house because 'just doesn't happen' pretty much sums up a lot of days. :lmao: I really am lucky to be able to homeschool and be with my kids so much. I used to teach public school and this is definately the better choice for our family. :cloud9:

*ahem* It's nearly 11am, ya know. :rolleyes1

:lmao: I know! I was about to update when Jace got a new xbox in the mail that it turns out is NOT on the backwards compatabilty list as playable on the 360. I had to try to figure out if he could play it and then calm him down when he couldn't. Lesson learned- he now has the compatability list saved so he knows BEFORE he buys. Good thing it was only a $5 game.
