Conference call with MS re transfer of points

Hi everyone,

I am wondering if you can help me. I transferred some points to someone once but don't remember how we did our conference call.

I need a few more points to make a reservation for a 2 BR at BCV and a friend has agreed to transfer the points to us. The friend is quite a novice at DVC and has only recently started reading this site. Anyway, I told her what needs to happen (as I was told by DVC) is that I need to call and make sure it's available, then I need to have a conference call with her during which she tells DVC to transfer the points to me so we can finalize the reservation.

Here is my question, will DVC make the call to her for the conference call? I won't be in my office when we make the call and I have no way to conference her in from home.

Hi, just did a transfer today thru a conference call, i don't know if MS would make the conference call as one of us had to initiate it and call MS.

I did not know your screen name, but I believe this is who I did my transfer with today. I believe that the conference call has to be initiated by one of the parties making the transfer but not quite sure.

How does the transfer work security wise? Do you have to give your personal information to validate your account while the other member is on the line?

My experience with that is yes. However, I think the one time I transferred to someone (from these boards) I called into MS and gave my info, then the other person was conferenced in (I don't remember if I did it or if MS did it) then he gave his info. I did not listen, and in fact put the phone down for that part of the conversation.

In my case, I actually know the person who is transferring and I know the person is honest and would not do anything with my information, nor would I with hers.
