Concierge Tipping?

Hi!

We will be staying at AKV concierge in September. I know that the concierge staff will not be able to take any monetary gifts so I was wondering what else we can give? What kind of things have you given as a "thank you " for their fine service?

Another question......I have been emailing the itinerary planning people about my ADR's, are these the same cast members that will be in Concierge when I arrive?

I guess I'm cheep, I only tip for exceptional service. The fact that these Cast Members work Concierge has nothing to do with it. We pay extra for the Concierge perks, and I'm not going to tip Cast Members for doing their job.

Concierge tipping is always difficult because the recommendations are ala cart. In Disney's case I likely wouldn't tip for most things and the trust is they really can't get you anything you can't get on your own, unlike places like LV. For that reason and that they act mostly as a front desk type person at DVC, I likely wouldn't tip or would give small gifts of appreciation.

I have found that the IPO staff are FAR more helpful than the staff in the lounge at the resort. When we stayed at AKL last year the staff in the lounge didn't do much of anything, beyond checking us in.

Having said that, I didn't tip the folks in the lounge. I also didn't attempt to sort out the procedure to get a tip to the IPO staff, though they would have been deserving of a tip because I called them dozens of times.
