We had a Cat. 3 room on a recent May Western. This was our third
Disney Cruise and first with concierge service. Here are some of our experiences with the extra concierge service:
It was nice to board first and not stand in line.
After boarding, meeting the concierge staff in Sessions and getting spa appointments and signing up the DD for the club was very simple and non-stressful.
We called the week before sailing and made Palo reservations and made dinning rotation and table location requests.
The concierge staff helped us get on several shore excursions that we had been told were soldout.
The concierge staff helped us with a special birthday activity in the dinning room.
We wanted to talk to Rick (the cruise director) and asked the concierge staff how would be the best way to talk to him. He called us 15 minutes later.
The concierge deck party while arriving at Key West was nice.
They brought small treats and fruit to the room each night.
They visited the room each evening to make sure everything is OK.
So I guess the concierge service was nice because of the attention given you. It does however come at a price. We got the Cat. 3 room because we wanted the extra space for this cruise. We were in a Cat 6 for the prior cruise and will be in a Cat 6 for our next cruise.
If you can afford the extra cost, or need the extra space, you could get very spoiled by the concierge servcie. The extra attention is very nice. They really make you feel special.
