Looking for any info on the Concierge Collection in Vermont. We're celebrating our 25th next July (2003) and are looking for "something special".

Any comments/suggestions??

Thanks!

My wife and I live in CT (had lived in Maine and New Hampshire), and are considering a trip to The Woodstock Inn. The pictires look great! Anyone here been???

I don't know about specific resorts, but I am familiar with most of the general area where they exist. If you decide on Vermont, I would be happy to help you with local information. Happy Holidays from Vermont.

I grew up in Woodstock Vermont and have gone to the Woodstock Inn as an adult many times. Last time we used our Disney points.

It is beautiful. Many things to do around town and at the Inn. It is truly a wonderful location on the Village Green right across from a covered bridge. A perfect Vermont Postcard!

If you have any questions, just ask.

We have also stayed at the Sagamore on points. It is great too. But my heart is in Woodstock.

another vermont option is the Equinox in Manchester, VT. I have never stayed there (could not afford the rates!!), but have driven past it many times.
Manchester Vermont is a beautiful place. There are lots of things to do, nice restaurants, and designer outlets. Before my Disney addiction begain (1998, so I am a late starter;)), we used to go to Manchester a few times a year for romantic getaways.

We stayed at the Trapp Family Lodge in Stowe 2 years ago and loved it. Very laid back. Gourmet meals available but pricey; we have a 5 year old and usually went to restaurants in town. Ben and Jerry's factory nearby was a great tour. Tremendous hiking all around. You can also take the chair lifts up the hills at the ski resort.

We've stayed at the Juniper Hill Inn and had a wonderful time. The food is excellent and the inn is beautiful. The only drawback was no TVs in the room.

Juniper Hill Inn was lovely but very secluded and I thought that the room for points (while lovely) was not as spectacular as the barn rooms. Very nice food and quiet atmosphere. That being said, I prefer the Equinox. A lot more to do and a very elegant, though relaxed, feel to the resort. If you happen to golf, the Equinox is the place to go.

Good Luck!

Hi fellow DVC! My husband and I have stayed three times at the Windham Hill Inn in VT. Once using our points and then two other times on cash ressies. All three times were great. Inn is wonderful and the food was fabulous. The rooms using point are nice but nothing extra such as fireplace or jauzzi. But still very nice for a romantic getaway. This Inn is more laid back then Woodstock or Equinox. If you don't mind driving there are so many interesting towns/shop/restuarants near by or at least within an hours drive.

There are new owners now so am hoping they are just as nice as the previous ones. Want to try to get back in 2003.

Have a Disney Day!

Wow, thanks everyone! for your replies and suggestions. It's going to be hard to choose :)

Thanks!

My wife and I stayed there for a weekend 2 years ago. It was very nice. Winter activities are cross country skiing and downhill skiing (the nearby Suicide Six Ski area is antiquated - drive 30-40 minutes to other ski areas if you are a serious skier). Summer activities are hiking, tennis and just plain relaxing. Woodstock is a beautiful town to visit and relax in. It is not the place to go if you have kids and want to have a non-stop activity filled vacation. I find it a great weekend destination.
1 Breakfast was included with the two night stay. I would suggest you have several alternative dates when you make reservations. We wound up having to take our third choice. I don't think the Woodstock Inn has any trouble filling their rooms in high season which I believe may include the winter months of Jan, Feb and March. I believe summer months are probably high season as well. Good Luck with yur vacation choice.
