Concierge/Club Level Information - Part III (October 2010)

We are celebrating child bdays in disney and are staying CL at BC. We won't be able to get personalized special mini cakes at Norway on their bday, but I assume we can get them at the BC? Either delivered in the lounge or else our room? I emailed IPO but have not heard back yet, so I thought I'd post the quick question here for anyone who has experience with this. I'm also headed over to the cake chatter thread to sift thru that for some info. Thanks!

Once upon a time (in a CL f/k/a as Concierge Level) far, far away. . .complimentary birthday cakes, balloons, and surprises were delivered to the birthday child's room while they were out! It was so festive to return from a morning/afternoon in the parks to a room handsomely decorated for the child's day.

Now you will need to go through an office of Disney dining and order said cake at an exorbitant price AND hope it is delivered timely and as ordered. The cake chatter thread is really great for the information.

Good luck! :wizard:

Yes, you can fill-up your flasks in the lounge. Unfortunately, the CLs stopped offering small bottles of water to guests and instead have the large, glass bottles of water (Evian, I believe).
Don't forget the Atrium Club lounge still has mini bottles of Dasani that's either in the fridge from their lounge or which you need to ask for from the storage room and one of the Cast Members will go get some for you.

Monorail Bob's DD-I just realized I think we are going to be there about the same time too. Maybe we will get to say hi. We will be the family driving DH nuts because our daughter is bringing not just one but two friends this year. He is really outnumbered with me and 3 13 year old girls this trip.:lmao:

Nice! We are spending the first few days of our trip in Naples visiting my MIL. We will be at BWI from Tuesday, July 26th, through Saturday, July 30th. I also have a 13 year-old dd along with 10 and 6 year-old girls. I will be the one dragging dh kicking and screaming since he is not a big Disney fan. I am hoping by staying in such a wonderful location and gorgeous room this time, he will like it better. ;) We have only stayed inmoderates as a family up to this point.

I'm sure CR Fan will be here soon to chime in with me on how FABULOUS these rooms are!!!

My family stayed in one in November and I couldn't believe how much room we had! We requested a room on the same floor as the lounge and our wish was granted.

The lounge staff is fabulous! (desk CM's are a little more reserved, but polite enough). There was always plenty of food and things constantly being replenished.

My only issue with BWI is sharing the bus with Swan and Dolphin (and occasionally YC and BC in off peak times). Plus, it is a VERY long walk from the elevators to the InnKeeper's area, in which you need your room key to even get into that area, then walk even more to get to the lounge. Luckily our room was across the hall from the lounge, which was great for pop in for snacks, but a long walk at the end of a busy day.
Don't forget the Deluxe Rooms on the 3rd floor have bigger balconies compared to the ones on the 4th floor. Now in August 2010 we happen to get one on the 3rd floor which was room #3229 and it was very close to the stairs tgar go up to the 4th floor. However for our August 2011 reservation we requested a room on the 4th floor because we want to be closer to the lounge, plus the view is still the same and a small balcony wouldn't bother us. However there might be some guests that like a bigger balcony over being closer to the lounge.

Yep-we arrive on the 27th so we will get to say "hi" Have met a couple of others here on the Dis and now Nascargirl & I do girl's trips in October with our Disney "family" We also tour the parks with her and her DH on our family trips. Hope to meet and greet for a brief moment:cool1:

I hemmed and hawed way too long...the SL room I called about this morning is booked! I'm so disappointed! Do you think there is a chance the availability may open up? Is it worth calling again every day?? I'm so disappointed!!!

Blimey! It's frustrating when you finally decide to make a change and then it's no longer available. Try at the 45-day point when guests might cancel a package. Is the RPC available?

RPC IS available, but it SO much more!!! Should I just do that? Can I downgrade if the SL becomes available? How would that work?

And I'm beyond the 45 day mark...We are arriving May 12.

:lmao::lmao:
I would have lost control. But that's just me. (I teach Senior English at a high school) and my students refer to my classroom as a "gynecocracy" :rotfl2: Yeah, I would have lost it....

Thanks..I was tempted, believe me! I was close to losing it!:sad2:

RPC is very pricey and booking RPC won't have any impact on getting into SL. I would keep calling everyday and if that doesn't work, ask at check-in if there is any SL availability. Even if you don't get into SL, I know you'll have a great trip so don't worry too much about it. It's also possible that a room-only reservation might be canceled five days prior to arrival, so don't give-up!

I didn't mean that it would help me get into SL....I wondered if I booked it, and SL become available by chance, would I be able to downgrade to it. KWIM? Like, get a refund and stay cheaper?

I'm so tempted to book RPC. *sigh*

Yes, you could do that. You can upgrade your room and you can also downgrade it. If you need any RPC/GF advice, I'm sure you already know about the wonderful GF thread. They are very helpful over there and have great photos and info.

Are you booking a package or room only? You would have to pay if you downgrade a package plus you would have to pay in full now. You could do a room only and pay 1 night deposit and then you can cancel/change up to 5 days out without penalty.

Don't know how likely a SL room is to open up. I'm going to BWI CL on 5/11 and even at full price there are no rooms available at BWI. A few days ago they had Garden Suites but now they have no rooms.

I just did it. I booked RPC. Wow. That hurt. LOL! Thanks for all your help! Now I have to read this over and over, so I can get all the good tips out of it! ;-)

WOW! How exciting! Are you going to make-up an RPC ticker today? Are you sure you'll be able to "downgrade" to SL if it becomes available?

I hope you have a great vacation at the RPC (or SL;)).

All this talk of RPC is making me wish we could afford it for this trip, but it just isn't in the budget since I'm taking my parents with us. I'm grateful to still be able to afford SL but hoping our next trip will be in RPC!

Hey, good morning! (I hope you weren't up all night with Lilyana.)

You've got to save something for your next trip and it's so sweet of you to be taking your parents. You're going to have a great stay at SL:goodvibes

Oh yeah, up ALL night and she is still wide awake. Do you have any idea how bad these all nighters are for my wallet?! :rotfl: I bought a new airbrush system during our all night nurseathon (I do freelance makeup on the side) and...well let's just say I should have just paid a chunk of our trip off instead of shopping. :rolleyes1 It's those darn infomercials at night! They're the only thing on and they peak my interest in something and then I end up buying a ton of other junk. There's nothing else to do in the middle of the night...except eat, however I need to burn this baby weight so I guess shopping is the lesser of the two evils...unless I was buying food.

Are you mocking me? I feel like you are. Why?
