Concierge/Club Level Information - Part III (October 2010)

I have a question.

We are staying at the WL on the CL from May 1-8...standard view. I have emailed WDW twice to ask if any facilities including the old faithful lounge will be closed during our stay (hope not). They have emailed replies that they do not have this info and tho call closer to check in. But as we get closer to checkin it becomes more and more unlikely I can switch to another deluxe....especially two rooms at a military rate. They wouldn't offer concierge level rooms without concierge level amenities...would they?

Also, does anyone know if the mercantile carries lactose free milk? Or do they have a direct number so I can call them and eliminate the stop on the way from the airport.

Thanks in advance.

I don't know why the WL IPO emailed you saying they have no information because I and another DISer emailed the WL IPO recently and received very specific answers about the CL rehab schedule. I posted the responses to the first page of the WL thread under "WL REHAB."

I know that Pamela answered your question regarding the lounge, but I just want to reiterate that the lounge itself is not scheduled for a rehab and only the rooms, one wing at a time will be under construction. During your dates, the North Wing will be closed, so you will be placed in the South Wing.

I also recommend emailing the WL IPO and asking for lactose-free milk. They should be able to get it for you.

I know you can't have glass at the pool. Do they provide cups or do they have aluminum bottles? At the HRH cl they have the aluminum bottes you can take to the pool. They also will provide you with a bucket of ice at the pool to keep them cold. Does Disney have the unbreakable bottles?
I recall once on the Poly thread someone mentioning being given aluminum bottled beer to take to the pool.

Thanks for the suggestion. I looked on the Welcome to DIS list of abbreviations but IPO wasnt on there. Can someone school this newbie on what an IPO is so I might email them?

I am glad the club will be open and functional. It was SO SO SO INVALUABLE when my child would go from "I am not hungry" to "feed me NOOWWW" in 10 seconds flat last year in California.

I don't know for sure if they have any beer in aluminum bottles. :confused3 I only ever got the Longboard beer and that was in glass. The CM's gave it to us in plastic cups for the pool and we just poured it off into cups ourselves when we kept beer in the fridge.

IPO stands for Itinerary Planning Office. For the WL, the IPO is physically located at the Poly. They are the CL (Club Level) entity that you will be in contact with after booking a CL stay. Once you check-in, the CL CMs (Cast Members) or concierges will assist you onsite.

It sounds like you never contacted the WL IPO? Have they emailed you yet? Feel free to contact them, just remember to include your confirmation number. Here is the email address:

Ok thanks. The last time we were at Poly we were talking to somebody that was staying CL and he was drinking beer out of a can. I can't imagine that he brought his own if he was staying Cl. I think I'll buy some buy some insulated cups before our trip. I like beer, but it's got to be cold.

Maybe he had requested a specifc Beer that the Polynesian didn't have available in the lounge and that was the reason he had it in a can.

We are staying at the Poly in October. We have stayed at the Poly several times, but this is our first CL stay. I just sent my completed planning form to the IPO. Our ADR window opens up on Tuesday. It will actually be hard for me to not make my ADRs myself early that morning, but it is great they can do it for me. My trip seems so far away, but now that my ADR window is almost here, I am so excited!!!!!!!!:cool1:

For those of you who let the IPO make your ADRs, how long does it take them to send your confirmations back to you?

We sent in our ADR's about 2 weeks in advance and received our confirmation for every single request we made on the day our 180 day window opened. Got home form work and the email was waiting for me!:goodvibes

We are booked at the WL in a Deluxe Room in December. This is my 1st trip in 20+ years and 1st time on property so we are really excited. I wanted to know if most people used the IPO to book your ADR's. I really want some hard to get ones like CRT and Ohana. Stupid question but will the IPO people simply be logging into the Disney website the same way I am. Any problems getting the places and times you wanted.

Last Summer when I stayed Poly CL, I chose not to use IPO to make my ADR's. I prefer to make my own ADR's. I did use the concierge CM's to make additional ADR's when I was at WDW. Then did seem to have some pull. I am staying BWI CL this Summer and making my own ADR's again. I will utilize the concierge CM's if needed when I am on site. I am sure if you booked at the 180 day mark you would have no problem. If you prefer to use the IPO staff, by all means do so. That is what you are paying for. Have a magical vacation!

We just changed to BWI deluxe club level arriving 1 week from today :) Anyways.. we stayed in this room 2 years ago and I can't remember for the life of me if they had bottles of juice we could grab. I'm sure if I asked they could get for me, I just need to have in room for sons meds. I know they were constantly giving us bottled h20 for his formula. But I dont remember about the bottled juice. We also got choc milk that they grabbed out of fridge for my other kids at any given time. so my thought is yes, but figured i'd check before we stop on the way there to get it... THANK you!

Does anyone know if the CL desks (Poly in particular) will be able to upgrade the pre-ordered Photopass to the new Photopass + ? I've read that the deluxe hotels will be offering the service, but I haven't heard if the CL will offer it. It sure would make it easier to just do it at the Hawaii check-in instead of having to go to the GCH.

My last trip my husband and I were booking our own dining reservations and were having horrible luck; couldn't get Le Cellier, nothing at V&A's, etc. As a last resort I e-mailed my list to IPO hoping they could at least keep an eye out for any open reservations. Within 3 days we had the tables we had requested for both restaurants, same times and all. So I'm not sure how they work it, but they get the job done a lot better than I ever could. Side note, we had to change our V&A reservation to a later time because of unforeseen family problems and they were able to move us up on the same day, despite my earlier call being turned down. At the very least they may have some magic monitoring system that lets them know when theres a cancellation.

While I will continue to think that the Contemporary is an excellent resort, my new found love for the Boardwalk Inn has finally forced me to give up my CR Resort Fan 4 Life user name, and now go with something that is more appropriate - BWI FAN 4 EVER. It was tough giving up 39,674 posts, but it is worth it as a signal to my new allegiance.

The last time I stayed Club Level there in December 2011 they didn't have any bottles of Juice in the lounge.

At the GF concierge in December 2011 they only had soda and beer in the fridges. Water and juice in the dispensers in the morning. I asked if they had bottles to take to the park and she suggested I go buy a bottle and refill it in the lounge as needed. Didn't like that answer but there was no alternative offered.

I just seriously laughed out loud when I realized you had changed your screen name! LOL! I started reading and I realized it was you!

Hey, if you love something, embrace it. If I'd have known 4 trips ago that I'd be such a Poly lover I'd have made my user name something Polynesian as well. ;)
