Concierge/Club Level Information - Part II (Sept 2009)

Thanks, I was thinking that since most of our dinner ADR's are early for the kids that he may want an extra meal some nights to hold him over besides the things offered in the lounge, lol.

Don't know why I didn't think of this...you can use 2 points for room service and it includes the gratuity on room service. I've seen photos of a NICE filet from Beach Club room service.:thumbsup2
 
I have a WL question. I know that the Deluxe CL room we are staying in is on the 7th floor but looking at the map, pictures and my memory I am trying to figure out just exactly the rooms will be. What view are they facing and is there any preferable room request? I know this sounds like a vague question but I just don't have that much info on the rooms. Also my kids are well behaved (in public, at least) kids that will be 13,10 and 7 on the next trip. Will my 13yo be able to access the CL lounge without us (like to get a snack while I'm getting ready) and maybe take her sister and brother? TIA

I'm sure it would be fine for your 13 year old to go to the lounge by herself. I don't think I would send the 10 and 7 year old without an adult though.
 
Today was my 180 days for ADRs. I woke up at 7:00, not like last year at 4:00 a.m. I faxed my requests to the Poly IPO last week. At 7:15 a.m., I got an e-mail from them. They got all of my ADRs! Even Le Cellier at 7:00! I am absolutely thrilled with the Poly IPO! I don't know why we waited so many years to stay Club Level. :confused:
If everything keeps running this smooth because of them, I don't know what I'll do with myself! :thumbsup2

I can't help with the WL Deluxe CL rooms but I can tell you that your 13-y-o will be fine going to the lounge herself and taking your 10-y-o, too. I'm sure your 7-y-o would be fine going with them as well but I will just pass along that Disney does request in the CL welcome letter that children under 10 be accompanied to the lounge by an adult.
 
My 12 YO has gone to the lounge by herself numerous times, I feel more comfortable letting her do that than letting her hunt a snack machine!
 
Can someone please help me put my crazy mind at ease?? We are arriving this thursday at the Beach club for 10 nights. *Originally* our first night was a regular pool view room because there were no CL rooms available, and the last 9 nights are CL lagoon view.

Last Friday, when emailing IPO and inquiring about switching rooms, they emailed me that their manager had complimentary upgraded my first night to a CL lagoon view room so that I wouldn't have to swtich. I promptly received a new email from disney destinations reflecting that upgrade. Wow! How kind and wonderful!!

Even as of this morning, I have an email that says everything looks great and I shouldn't have to switch rooms, even within the CL rooms.

then, this afternoon, I receive another Disney Destinations email that DOWNGRADED my first night back to a water/pool view!!! I was stunned.

I emailed IPO and have yet to receive a reply. Meanwhile, I did call, and spoke with a nice young man who just said not to worry and that they 'do that all the time' and should 'stay out of where they don't belong' meaning Dis. Destinations shouldn't be messing around with the CL assignments and things the manager did?? Anyway, he said just bring a copy of the email and it'll be fine. He said he'd have someone call me back to let me know what happened. They're about to close and no one has called me back yet. We leave thursday morning.

I'm trying not to worry, but I don't want to get there and be embarrassed...KWIM? I didn't expect a complimentary upgrade for one night, but I certainly hope they wouldn't go and tell someone they've been upgraded and then downgrade them with no explanation!.

I just am one of those people that likes to have all my confirmations printed out so I have a paper trail.

I have a printout of the email from IPO about the upgrade, and the Disney Destinations confirmation showing the CL lagoon view room before they downgraded it again. However, I'm fearful of getting there and them not having the room any longer.

Do you think that could happen? What would you do? Anything?
 
I would not worry at all. Disney Destinations has my reservation wrong CONSTANTLY. they are always a step behind. Still shows the inccorrect number of nights I am staying along with the wrong resort! After verifying with a CM a few weeks ago, my resort and my dates ARE correct in their system but the email confirmations are always wrong. I would just have your original email and not give it a second thought. have fun!
 
Relax, from my experience they do a great job. They may not be overly friendly, but I've found them very professional and helpful. I'm sure they'll be in touch soon with your ADRs.

Thanks CanadianMickey, I finally emailed them at 11am to find out if they made the ADR's, but at 12:30pm I still didn't hear back from them so I went ahead and booked my own ADR's. I was feeling really good about getting such good times! At 1:30pm I finally got an email back from the GF IPO with the confirmation numbers and a...oh, sorry we forgot to email this to you, here you go. :sad2: It took longer to cancel the ressies I booked myself than when I made them. I'm starting to get a bad feeling about this. :eek: DH said it may be time to start researching Poly CL.

I agree, I have never been to Disney before but on this trip I was at POR with DDP, switched to POR with DxDDP, then added 2 nights to it, then went to BC with DxDDP, then called again to upgrade to CL...the emails I get from them are always wonky and wrong. I hope you get the upgrade when you get there.

We had that exact type of "upgrade" once, when we couldn't get CL at the GF for the first night and so were booked in a LV room instead. It never showed on the reservation, but was handled with no problems. I had called right before our trip, pleading with them to find us a CL room for that night so my 2 year old could nap in the afternoon instead of moving rooms -- and I assured them that I would pay for it. In the end, they found us a room but never changed the original reservation. I'm sure it will work out for you, too.

We stayed CL in BC last summer, and the IPO staff and the lounge CMs were fantastic! Hope you have a safe and fantastic trip!:goodvibes

I have been super pleased with them so far. It was sooooo nice to have no worries with making ADRs....very easy. I'm certainly spoiled now!

I'm a total control freak with our ADRs, so I was very hesitant to let them do it for me. However, this is my trip to relax, even with three newbies. Poly IPO said they have access to the system an hour before the general public online, as well as access to tables the general public doesn't. I've decided to let them work their magic, and I hope it works out as well as it has for you guys!

Same thing here and I got 5:00 ressies at Le Cellier on Mother's day no less. Poly IPO has come through for me every time. I even ordered a haunted mansion cake for our ann. dinner at California Grill.

They definitely have access to tables the general public system does NOT.

This is a huge advantage and sometimes allows you to book at places you'd normally think 'No way can I get that at this point' ...

So.. there ya go.
