Concierge/Club Level Information - Part II (Sept 2009)

Hello! We will be arriving at the YC Concierge the day after Thanksgiving and I have a few questions...

1. Will there be a refrigerator in our Concierge level room?

2. Does the lounge have small bottles of milk or water to take back to the room?

3. Is it acceptable to take back some extra cookies or snacks to the room to have after the lounge has closed for the evening? I certainly don't want to be impolite or expect services that are not covered for my stay.

4. We typically order snacks/drinks (water/seltzer/milk) from Garden Grocer to have in the room. With the lounge offerings do you think we would be ok not ordering from Garden Grocer this trip?

Any other information about YC Concierge would be appreciated! We are so excited for our upcoming holiday stat at WDW!!!

1. Yes you're room will have a mini fridge.

2. Based on what I have seen in the Club Level lounges for the Contemporary and Polynesian there won't be small bottles of Milk, so if you need to poor them into paper cups or glasses. As for Water the lounges usually put out a huge glass bottles that you can poor anytime you want some, however if you ask for one that might give you another one from their storage room.

3. Yes it's ok to take back Cookies or any other items of food back to you're room.

4. Personally I don't think you will need it, so you got to make a decision of what is best for you.

So here's a question about the YC CL. We've stayed at WL's CL and their wine was from the Pacific NW to support the overall lodge theme. Does the Yacht Club's CL wine offering have a theme as such?
Thanks!

Thank you for the details about the lounge and food offerings! I am looking forward to our upcoming trip to the YC!

We are a family of five staying at the Beach Club 3/21-3/28. We reserved a Club Level Garden View room that will accomodate five. The person taking our reservation assured me we would get the 2 queens and a daybed. However, I was now wondering if I need to request a balcony or if the CL rooms, even with a garden view, come with a balcony??
Also, have these rooms been renovated as well? If so, when? Thanks in advance!
Michelle

All rooms above the ground floor have a balcony but some are simple step outs, not full balconies. If you would like one that has enough room to sit out on, I'd place a request, but remember, it's just that, a request, not a guarantee.

I completely forgot about those. I was referring to this one. Sorry.

"Wanyama" Safari. Up to 12 people ride in a specially designed van around the lodge's savannas! Learn about the animals and animal management at Animal Kingdom Lodge. The van stops and you get lots of photo opportunities of the animals and birds. An animal guide is on the van with you to offer information and answer questions.

Afterwards, you have a wonderful dining experience at Jiko.
The entire experience lasts about 3 hours.

I did this in '06 and am doing it again this Nov. It is a fabulous tour! And no theme park ticket required, so I go on a resort day.

Just wanted to see in writing how many days til we arrive at BWI CL!

Also, curious.....we are also staying at GF SL....I've never been contacted by IPO and I haven't contacted them at all since my ADRs are only for the days we are at BWI and that IPO has taken care of them. Is there really any reason that I need to introduce myself to them prior to arrival?

One more question, on our check out day at BWI and then on to checking in at GF, we will most likely be taking a cab to GF. Do you suggest I call them ahead of time to let them know we are on our way over or just go? I have GF as room only and am trying to decide if I should pay the balance prior to arrival. If i wait until check in time, will the concierge desk be able to take my payment or will I need to go to regular check in for that? I've never stayed CL before so I am not sure exactly what the best options are.

Thanks

The Grand Floridian will know who is checking in that day and if they have a Club Level reservation. Now at the Contemporary when we tell a Cast Member at the bell desk were staying Club Level, they call someone and that Cast Member takes us up to our floor and we check-in. So I would guess the Grand Floridian does the same thing or something very similar to that.

Hello everyone! I'm glad I made my way over to this thread. I booked Poly lagoon view CL yesterday with the 4/3 deal and I am so excited!

I've never stayed CL before and after reading this thread, I feel like I have a better idea of what to expect upon arrival.

I like the idea of IPO making my ADRs for me, but my concern is that I am one of those people that fall into the new 180 booking out category where everyone will be calling on Oct 27 to make their reservations at once. Do you think I'd have a better chance of getting what I wanted by going online at midnight, or waiting to see what the CMs can come up with? I will be looking for a few tough ones like Le Cellier, Boma, and Ohana. Last year I got everything i wanted (except Le Cellier) by booking myself and I am so nervous as there are so many people that will be making ADRs on this day...

Thank you to the person that organized this thread. It is very helpful!

I was curious too and had contacted IPO with part of that question. IPO told me they have no better opportunity/chance of getting the adr's that I wanted than I would if I called (or went online) and made them myself. I'm not sure if that really answers much of your question, but I know it helped me make some decisions. I do see what you mean though too, it seems like there will be twice as many people making their adr's then - it would make me nervous too... I'm a control freak so I would probably go online first (since that opens first) and get done what I could there then call.

Good luck though - those are all absolutely wonderful restaurants!

We will be staying at BWi January3-9 2010. Today was our 90 day mark, and we got our requesteed ADR's, which includes Le Cellier for 2. We really didn't think we would get it because we have been trying for years!LOL! It is my birthday that day so it will be extra special. The only thing that hasn't been booked yet is the Safari. There is some kind of computer issue over booking it, but we are told it will be fixed shortly.:thumbsup2

This is our 2nd time ever staying coincierge level, we will be at WL New Years week and arriving via Magical Experess.

So ---
The only prior time we stayed CL was quite a few years ago at AKL and we arrived by car. The guard at the gate gave us a car parking card and it had the indication that we were club level. It was a surprise for my DH's birthday and worked out just great, the bellman escorted us directly to the elevators and up to the concierge check in. It was fabulous :)

So in December when we arrive by DME where should I go to check in?

This time CL is a surprise for my dd's so I would like to try and do something similar and check in on the concierge floor without asking questions and giving away the surprise. They have always wanted to stay at WL but they think we are staying at CSR!

Thanks

We got back from a wonderful stay at BWI!

W/ the deluxe dining we didn't get to take advantage of the offerings as much as I had hoped us too.

We're booked for Feb at the Poly Garden View Club Level now :) I cant wait!

How early do you guys usually get your ADR requests into the IPO? I just sent mine in today for a 10/19 booking day and I'm nervous that I'll be at the bottom of their priority list.

This is my first time Club Level and I'm totally freaking about letting go of controlling my own bookings :scared1:

Someone, tell me it will be ok!

I posted this on the Polynesian thread, but thought you might like the information here as well.

We're back from our BC stay, but did visit the Polynesian while we were there. There is a new food list for concierge that went into place on 10/5 if anyone is interested. :thumbsup2

Tess,
I thought Oatmeal was only offered in the lounges during the colder months of the year? At least that's the way it's done at the Atrium Club lounge because we have never seen it offered in the summer months, however it's always been offered when we have been there in the month of December.

Thanks, Tess! I added the link to Page 1, Post 8 of this thread. :thumbsup2

You're welcome--hey, where were you ladies at F&W--I didn't know who to look for, but figured if you saw us you would recognize our faces from the picture. We had a blast!

Not sure what to tell ya' CR--this menu came straight from the Polynesian and went into effect yesterday. They could well adjust it seasonally. In the grand old days, oatmeal was offered every day regardless of the season. When our daughter was a child, she ate it every morning in the summer when we visited. It was discontinued a few years ago, but appears oatmeal is making a return w/dried fruit. I can't speak to how it is done at the Atrium Club since that service has never appealed to me and hence, I've not stayed there. :confused3

Well then I would guess every Club Level lounge is different, although if it's only offered seasonally I guess it can always be adjusted.
