Concierge/Club Level Information - Part II (Sept 2009)

Hi,

I just received an email from Disney IPO. It told me to click on a link which took me to a web page that asked questions like Home phone number. How we would be arriving etc? All pretty standard questions but I haven't heard about this on here before. It is visitDisneyDestinations.com. It takes an extremely long time to open the page. Could someone tell if this is standard? I am always a bit weary of clicking links in emails that ask me to supply personal information. If it is a standard thing I have no problem with it but if it is not standard practice I would rather not complete it.

Thanks in advance.

I've received the form before, and it really just lets the IPO staff know if you want your ADR's made and if you need to have any special tours, events, etc booked for you. It took me a long time to open the page too, and I didn't fill it out since I had already made all of my arraignments. :)

Oh that's cool then. Thank you. I was just worried it was some random email sent by someone trying to get my personal info. Paranoid I know!!

you can also print the form out and fax it to them if it would make you more comfortable

I was just talking with my family and we are seriously considering extending our vacation at WDW this August since they have that 40% off room only promotion on their website and we are thinking of staying Club Level at the Boardwalk. Anyway I was wondering does anyone have a menu of their current food offerings from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM and what else can you tell me about staying there?

I've quoted a recent post about food offerings at BWI-which seemed to jive with what I had when I was just there a few weeks ago.

Here's a few observations in addition to food offerings....the lounge was NEVER crowded which can be an issue at Poly & AKL. The lounge staff was excellent and very friendly-by far the friendliest of any lounge I've been too.

I thought housekeeping was very nice and the time they did turndown service was always perfect for me (I often found it too late at AKL).

The lounge was a bit of a walk from the elevator and some CL rooms are way beyond that.

The rooms are adequate but smaller than Poly or CR. I liked the decor and liked the double sinks outside of the bathroom much better than the set up at either Poly or CR.

The easy walk to Epcot was great as was the fact that it is first on & off the boat to Epcot. We would often walk to the Swan boat dock to be first on & off the MGM boat.

Bus service to MK where it shared with Swan & Dolphin wasn't as great but BWI is first on/off there. I never took bus from BWI to AK but believe BWI is last stop on that bus but we did take it back from AK and would just get off at Swan and walk back to the BWI. The Downtown Disney bus was even worse (but I think bad at all resorts) because it added Yacht & Beach Club stops so BWI would be the 5th stop-again we got off at Swan.

The theme of the resort is very well carried out. My DS really enjoyed it! We went to both the quiet pool and Luna park. Neither were crazy busy despite great weather for it and that YC/BC folks could use Luna park because their slide was down.

The food area in the lounge is a smaller than CR & Poly. I was disappointed that they didn't have ice tea during the evening hours but I never tried asking if it was available.

FYI on food offerings at YC CL

Good Morning Melissa!

I hope you had a great weekend!

True *and* false--the food offering have changed over the past few
months but for the better, I think. It doesn't include *just* wine &
cheese--that's only the beginning! During the evenings, there will be
cheese platters, vegetable platters, dips such as hummus (with breads &
crackers to dip), individually plated salads, and two hot offerings.
The hot offerings & salads are on a rotating menu, so you'll have a
different combination every day. The combinations will come from the
following:

Salads--
Tomato Mozzarella w/Balsamic Reduction
Wild Rice Salad with cranberries
Orzo Pasta Salad
Cous Cous Salad
Greek Salad

Hot Offerings--
Vegetable Spring Roll with Sweet Chili Sauce
Duck Quesadillas with Cilantro-Lime Sour Cream
Chicken Skewers with Yogurt-Cucumber Sauce
Crab Rangoon with Sweet Chili Sauce
Port Potstickers with Sweet Chili Sauce
Bacon-wrapped Scallops with Mustard Dipping Sauce

Also, just for future reference, Boardwalk's Innkeeper's Club does have
a few other hot offerings as well which include Sesame Lamb Meatball
with Tzatziki, Goat Cheese with Roasted Red Pepper in Phyllo, Duck
Quesadilla with Cilantro Lime Sour Cream, Dolmades with Avgolemono
Sauce, Chicken Vegetable Bruschetta, Vegetable Spring Roll, Pork Pot
Stickers with Sweet Chili Sauce, Baked Spanakopita, Crab Cakes with
Lemon Caper Yogurt Sauce, and Pea & Potato Samosas with Feta. All these
also on a rotating menu.

Hope this helped! Please let us know if there's anything else we can do
for you:)

Well I never thought I be posting this but after my family and I check-out of the Contemporary on August 20th we are then staying at the BoardWalk until August 25th for a split stay, a Deluxe Club Level room. Plus we were able to get 40% off with the room only deal from the WDW website.

:woohoo:Congratulations!!!

I would love to upgrade my July BWI CL reservation to deluxe but it isn't available. Guess we'll have to suffer with just a standard club level room.

First of all...I am sorry that it has taken me so long to do this! We got back Friday May 14th from the BWI- Deluxe Room, Club Level. I wanted to do a quick review on our stay. We were there May 8-14.
Overall, our stay was absolutely fantastic! The CL staff made us feel so at home. We were in room 4257 (I think!) which was absolutely phenomenal...HUGE for our family of 5 and a great view.
The CM's...in particular Pete, Christopher, and Lorenzo...were so great. My family loved talking with them and they really helped with our stay. We remembered Lorenzo from Feb. 2009 and he is just great! Everyone was so nice.
The food selection for breakfast, for us, was great. Bagels, muffins, cereals, danishes, juices, coffee, pastries were the norm every day. It was a great way to start our morning. Desserts were delicious, but I found there to be not a tremendous amount, in my opinion. We did not care for the majority of the appetizers, as the were not our taste. We are too picky:rotfl:
The lounge was great...it seemed like we could always find a table without a problem the majority of the time. However, we were there during value season, so I would imagine that in peak season when it is busier it would be difficult to find a seat.
We are booking BWI Deluxe CL for January! We cannot wait to go back!
I hope this information was helpful, and I look forward to answering any questions!

You will have an absolute blast! We just returned from a Deluxe CL room stay at the BWI, and loved it! I just posted my review. Have a great time, and let me know if you have any questions!

Congrats!!! We are booked at a BWI Deluxe CL room in November and are surprisingly REALLY excited to try it!!!

Congrats! The deluxe rooms at BWI CL are fabulous!! It's good to try something new. I love how BWI is so close to Epcot and DHS. I hope you love your stay there. :goodvibes We're actually trying something new too. We'll be staying at the Grand Floridian, Sugar Loaf, Aug. 19-24. It's a first for us. :)

Thanks everyone and lala3291, if I have a question for you. Do the Deluxe Club Level rooms with a view of the water and do they have a balcony? From the pictures I saw online they did so can you confirm this for me.

We were also considering trying Club Level at the Grand Floridian in Sugar Loaf. However since we realized we will be visiting there a few times during our time at the Contemporary, that it's best to try somewhere new and the fact we have never stayed at the Epcot/Hollywood Studios area is a major reason why we picked the BoardWalk. The other reason is the 40% room only discount from their website, because without it I don't think we would have done this.

Finally I from what I have read on here with a split stay WDW can move our luggage for us, however we would like to bring it ourselfs when going from the Contemporary to the BoardWalk. So I was thinking we check-in early and chances are the room won't be ready, we can leave our bags with bell services and we will use that text message system when our room is ready.

Cool! :cool1: I hope you like it there! :goodvibes We'll be checking in on August 24th until the 27th - maybe I'll look for you in the lounge. :)

Thank you for the review - we just love it there, and I'm glad you had such a good time. :goodvibes

We are just going to miss you - we switch from BWI to GF on the 27th. Hope you give us a live TR! :goodvibes

It's great that it all worked out :D

We are doing the same thing with our luggage when we shift from YC to AKL for our last night of stay. We wanted to experience AKL (where we were originally booked at CL), but when we got our pin we couldn't use it there and moved to YC/CL-LV (very happy of course). It's the best of both worlds scenario for us with the split stay, and very little hassle with luggage transfer options, and baggage check-in for pre-flight ticketing on-site. I was really amazed at how accommodating Disney makes it for guests.

Just look for the person wearing a Toronto Maple Leafs hat and with a lanyard of WDW pins. Also on the day we check-in I will also be wearing a Toronto Maple Leafs shirt and on the back of it is the name Phaneuf with the #3, so that's how you will know it's me.

I'm working on my ADR's for our August stay. We've decided to go ahead and get the dining plan even though we're staying at Sugar Loaf. We like the dining plan. I know some people have said that it's a lot of food doing concierge and dining plan, but we'll still need lunch and dinner, and since the regular dining plan does not have appetizers, we'll do the appetizer in the lounge before we go to dinner. :goodvibes

Yesterday was my 180th day. Poly IPO got every ADR we wanted and all are within 15 mins of the time we requested. We got CRT breakfast and dinner, Le Cellier, and Brown Derby Fantasmic plus several other restaurants. They also booked BBB in the Castle.

Last trip I got up extra early on a Saturday morning, locked myself in the bathroom so I would not get intrupted by kids and booked our ADR's. This year we were able to sleep in and not hit redial a million times waiting for the phones to turn on.

Now all I have to do is wait for November.

Hello! All Deluxe Club Level rooms have a Boardwalk view. The Boardwalk does overlook the lake so yes, you will also have a view of the water. It is beautiful. I will get pictures of our room and view up ASAP (probably tomorrow.)
And yes, we had a great balcony!
Hope that helps!!
