I'm nervous because according to the Universal Orlando site, the HRH is booked for Presidents' Day weekend 2006 but hotels.com lists rooms as being available.

Does anyone know how hotels.com operates and how they are able to list rooms as being available when the hotel itself does not list any as being?

Should we book with hotels.com?

Thanks,
HBC

I'm not sure if it is the same but I booked a room through Hotelkingdom because the PBH showed no rooms available for part of our visit. When I spoke to a rep, she stated that they reserve blocks of rooms so are able to sell rooms even when the hotel is booked. That said, I kept checking and not only did rooms open up but AP rates also became available. I cancelled the Hotelkingdom ressie (I believe the cancellation fee was $20) then rebooked w/ the AP rate.

Dory is correct, companies like this do make block reservations.

The only thing with hotels.com is that I don't think you're able to cancel your ressie? Don't you have to pay it all up front?

You can cancel but there is a fee like the one Dory explained she had. But you do pay in full up-front.

Thank you both for your replies.
