compression tights

While running the goofy, my CW-X compression tights blew a seem. Yes they were over 1 year old but i was not expecting it and have some major chafe, hurts a lot when you hit the med tent and it is bleeding. Thankfully med tent taped me up, while i did not finish in a stellar time i was able to finish.

It means i need new tights. I love the compression tights but am a little bummed that my CW-X only lasted a year. I actually have 5 pairs but 2 have had blowouts. Both were the ventilatory serios and I loved them.

Just wondering if anyone has some suggestions for new compression tights or if i should just stick to CW-X. I loved them but thought they should last longer than a year, or am I just being cheap?

I've had mine for several years and have never had a problem with them. I'd call them up, tell them what's happened, and see if they will give you replacements. Their products should definitely last longer than a year.

I agree. I have a pair of CW-X compression pants as well as a pair of Zoot compression knickers. The CW-X have been perfect so far. The Zoots I thought were better but then they started to tear at a seam. When I emailed Zoot, they immediately replied back saying to take the pair back to the store where I purchased them and they would replace them. Sure enough, that is exactly what they did.

So I would say give the replacement option a shot first. If you do want to try another brand, Zoot might be a good choice. I have not had another problem with them since getting the new pair.

I wear compression pants during every race and Long Slow Run, and either wear them or compression socks/sleeves during my maintenance/easy runs. Perhaps it is psychological, but really believe that my legs perform better with compression applied.
