Complex Premier Pass Up/Downgrade Question - Cheshire?

All right, I have a couple of questions related to upgrading /downgrading the Disney Premier Pass.

I presently have a WDW DVC Premium AP expiring in August. I have a new DL Deluxe AP expiring in June 2015. I'm heading to WDW in August at a date AFTER my WDW AP expires and am thinking about upgrading my DL AP to a Premier Pass (expiring in June 2015).

1. I purchased my DL Deluxe AP during the time when DVC offered the $429 discount. I've been in DL and activated the pass. The Current gate price at DL for that pass is $519. Which price will I get credit for the pass? The gate price or the DVC Discount price?

2. Come next June 2015, I may decide to 'downgrade' my Premier Pass to a Premium WDW DVC AP, would I receive the 'renewal' DVC Member price or would this be a 'new' pass since the upgrade to the Premier was from a DL AP, not a WDW AP?

I appreciate the answers. I've read the sticky but these are a bit more complex.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Sorry I don't know your answers, but wanted to mention that CF has been missing from these boards for six months now. :worried:

I don't think you get the full price for DVC AP's when upgrading. They are considered their own type of pass, not a discount off the regular pass.

p.s. I read a post not long ago that Cheshire is no longer working for WDW and moved to Texas. Most likely retired.

I have not done this, but from what I can tell on the Disneyland board, they generally do not price bridge tickets, so I would not count on being given the gate/full price when upgrading. I would ask this question down on the Disneyland board and/or the DVC board and see if anyone has tried upgrading a discounted DVC AP and see what they say.

For a WDWD DVC Annual Pass, you are correct. However, the DL discounted pass is not a standalone DVC pass category. It is a DL Deluxe AP, just at a discounted price.

At Disneyland, they do not. However, I'm upgrading at WDW.

:offtopic: Thank you - I must have missed that! I was kind of worried the worst had happened...

Doesn't matter, on an upgrade to Premier there is "bridging" They look up what you paid and that's all you get credit for (been there done that)

I've actually read some items to the contrary specifically about upgrade a DL AP in WDW after a gate price increase.

I wanted to see if anyone actually knew or had experience.

I'm confused a little...I thought bridging occurred when they increased the value of your ticket to the current gate price. If you only get the price you paid (assuming it's less than the gate price), wouldn't that mean they did not bridge the ticket?

Let me also throw in a monkey wrench... The discounted DVC price was $429 but when I picked up and used the DL Deluxe AP, the gate price was $519...
