I just bought my son and husband plane tickets to go see the Space Shuttle launch for Feb 24th and all the tickets are sold out.

Any idea where I can buy tickets from someone selling them individually?

There is no need to get tickets for the shuttle launch. There are so many places to see it from. I saw Atlantis launch in May from the waterfront in Titusville and it was amazing. If I had brought my binoculars I would have been able to see the launch pad. Even with tickets in to the center you are still about 12 miles away. I was in Florida anyhow and I just did a google search that morning for where to see a shuttle launch and started driving.

I just did a search and came up with Stubhub.com; there were tickets in each category and they had the cheapest at $150.00 and there are two left.

My father worked for the space program and took me down to the launch one year at the Cape; there is nothing better than being right there. Experience of a lifetime.

Not sure what a ticket enables you to do, but if you just drive towards the coast and get near Titusville area you can see it just fine. One of the more impressive sights you will see.

This is correct, you do not need tickets. IMO, watching it accross the water in Titisville is better then then watching it from the KSC Visitors Center. Granted, if you could get causeway tickets, those would technically be better then in Titusville cause you dont have to worry about driving over earlier and findind a good spot but those can get really expensive and then if the launch get scrubbed again, you could be out your money spent (sometimes you can use them for a future launch but I think that only applies if the launch is scrubbed in advance, I think if you actually ride the bus out to the causeway, they are considered used).

Look on Craigslist. I saw a lit listed right after the launch was scrubbed in December - not sure whats still listed.

I have seen launches from both titusville and on the causeway - both were spectacular!

Please be aware that shuttle launches are often delayed by days or even weeks. Don't put too much money into something that might not happen on the day announced.

This this this. I've gone to about 12 scheduled launches, and seen about 6. A total crapshoot.

We rarely get up early for Hot Air Balloon Launches anymore since the weather keeps them grounded so often!

Bolding mine.
I showed up literally 15 minutes before the launch. I parked 4 or 5 blocks away on a residential street and walked toward the water. Just follow the crowd. There were a lot of people there, but not so many I couldn't walk right up to the water.

we were on a waiting list for years for ksc schuttle launch tickets and never got any

I was going to mention this too... we had a couple trips where they was supposed to be a launch ((we didn't plan it, the dates just overlapped)) and the launch never occurred and the one trip where no launch was planned we by fluke the night we got there were able to watch a night launch, It was one of those things I'd never forget.
