COMPLETE ABC Letter/Elements Swap

Okay, here is my first shot at T for Group C.

Is everyone okay with the Mad Hatter's hat, or should I make a teacup as the journal box? I'm leaning toward ribbon for the embellishment on the photo mats. They are a bit bigger than the 4.5x6.5, as I wanted to show more of that patterned paper (which reminded me of the teacups ride).

I'm going to make the T bigger, it said 4" on SCAL, but it really wasn't. How about an idea for embellishing the hat (if I stay with the hat)? Anyone?

Ugh, the colors look so washed out. The green is more of an Granny Smith apple green.

What color is his hat when he does character pictures? I'm not seeing pink in my head, but I can't remember what color it is.

Would the teacup give us more writing surface?

Forgot to say I love the colors. They are spot on for the ride. :thumbsup2

I don't know what color he wears in character photos, I went with the pink for the hat because of the colors in the paper.

I'll work up a teacup on Tuesday, but the hat is actually bigger than it looks. Here's a picture of it on the mat so you can get an idea.

I was just thinking it would be easier to write on a single surface. But only because I am a lazy journalist. LOL I say go with what YOU like. :)

Ah, well...You could just use the top part as the writing surface and leave it at that ;)

I have to say, I love the hat. I was looking for a picture online to trace and came across that in an SVGcuts.com file I had bought and had no idea it was even in there. I will try a teacup too though.

Jennifer - I think the set is really cute! I agree...that patterned paper is great for the teacups. As for the Hatter in meet and greets...his hat is like an olive green and the coat is an orangish...so don't know that those colors would go with what you have??

Yeah, I wasn't thinking of it in terms of the meet and greet. More that it went with the teacups since it's called the "Mad Tea Party." I'll make a teacup. No worries ;)

Only make the teacup if it fits with what you want. The hat is cute and different.

And you are right. It is called the Mad Tea Party. It would be used for ride photos, not character photos. My bad there.

I'm not worried about it. I like both. I'm easy that way :rotfl2:

Okay, then lets pretend I am still blonde and we will forget all my ramblings before this.

WOW MM2000! That is such an awesome set. I never would have thought of doing that. The colors are perfect and the whimsy of the hat capture the ride perfectly.

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

I wanted the truth, so don't worry. It's all good.

I do really like the hat. I will probably use it as a focal accent rather than write on it. But like I said, I am a lazy journalist. I think about most of the pages I've actually done, they don't have writing on them.

So, maybe I'll make a teacup as the journal box and do the hat as a paper piecing and not a second photomat? Or, you'll get a hat as a hostess gift? Or, I'll just start from scratch!?

Nah, I like the hat ;)

:lmao:

Now about the embellishing of the photo mat. Do you have enough of the pattern paper to make small strips to use as the ribbon? 1/4" is what I normally cut mine to.

I have plenty of paper and I know where to get more if I need it. I did find some sheer ribbon at Mike's tonight though. I'm going to see how it goes with the green when I remember to take it out of my trunk. (I met Santa at the store...) If it doesn't go, I may try that with the paper.

Jennifer - I like the hat too!! I wouldn't want you to change it to a teacup just because it is different colors than his greeting outfit...I was just answering Ann's question. I don't know about everyone else, but I have so many fun spinny pics from that ride...it'll work great for me!

Ann - You are too funny!!! And, blonde has nothing to do with it...I'm a brunette and I have been having an abundance of those moments lately!! I have a theory...when we have children, they pull some of our memory, common sense and overall intelligence out with them!! I swear I was quicker and smarter before I had kids...and I KNOW FOR SURE my memory was at least 10 x's better!!

I also need some suggestions for my Ursula set...I was thinking piecing, but am not sure?? Anyone have any thoughts?? I kind of wanted to do paper clips for it...but wasn't sure what to do for them? So, I would like to ask the experts!!

Awesome Nancy. You are quick like bunny. :)

LM3K - I stink at paper clips. I bought a bunch thinking I would do something with them to make them cool. Uhm, yup, they are in a cabinet somewhere. :rolleyes1 But I've seen some really different ones. Ones that remind me of a bookmark with a die cut or huge flower on the end, ones that have cute dangle items that look like jewelry and ones that have words on one side. I, however, cannot make any such item and cannot help you with the construction process.

Mardenz has a paper piecing of Ursula and of Flotsam/Jetsam. Either one would be cool.
