Comparing Walmart with WDW

Getting this thread back on the original track.......

At least both Walmart and WDW are open.
IDK.... to me that statement is a negative. One carries essential items to live. (and a bunch of other junk) the other is a completely unnecessary way to congregate masses of untested people in one big old petri dish... One can be utilized in a very low risk manner (curbside pickup etc) and the other is....well it's still that unnecessary petri dish that 1000's have been flocking to all thru this pandemic. (low or high crowds,it's all the same concept) I have read recently about someplace (somewhere) that is implementing stricter measures to protect people by only allowing big box and grocery stores to sell true essential items. (can't remember where I saw this) but I found that interesting- I wonder if it was limited to food and pharmacy stuff?
And since OP's question was why compare the two..... I'm in agreement with OP. There is no comparison.

I think she was just trying to stop the arguing and bring it back to what the topic was actually about

I wouldn't go to WDW right now, but I feel perfectly safe at my Walmart. For one thing, I try to go in the early hours when it's less crowded. Our local Walmart also enforces the rules--they have people stationed at the door to make sure people have masks (required by law here). I've seen them kick people out. They also have sanitizing stations and many self-checkout lanes--installed 2 years ago, probably to reduce checkers, but handy during these times.

I don't know why people are so quick to rag on Walmart. They have a ton of stuff, low prices, and I find the employees to be pleasant and helpful. You can say, maybe, that I got lucky, but I found this to be the case when I lived in other states, too. Maybe they're not "Castmember friendly", but I've never had problems getting help when I need it.

I should have put a happy face there. :) Wasn't meant to be taken as negative just stating an obvious fact.

The title comparison is too vague... without a set definition people are going to have different ideas about each scenario. Are we meant to assume the average Walmart and WDW experiences? Even that conversation will suffer without defining it first.

Are we comparing one Walmart visit to a 5 day WDW trip, or a bunch of monthly visits combined, or going to Walmart 2 or 3x's a week thru 2020 at a busy store with low compliance for masks and distancing?

On the other side WDW trips vary greatly as well. Some people are not eating indoors at all, skipping rides that have long indoor queues, driving their own car the whole time, leaving the parks 11a-3p to avoid midday crowds, have only 3 park days and 2 secluded resort days. Other people are going for 2 weeks and going full speed the whole visit.

I'm sorry, I wasn't jumping on you or your statement.... I see what you were doing there.... :thumbsup2
