comparing MVMCP to an E-Night......

I need to decide if we are going to buy tix for MVMCP, but when we did E-Night last August, I have to say we were a bit surprised at how crowded it still was and the long lines! We have never dodne MVMCP, and @ $140 I want to be sure. I know there are many other activities going on, but is the park "really" at a low level of guests? I could drop from a 7 to a 6 day hopper to make up the difference...do you think it is worth it? BTW, our kids will be 10 and 14.

A lot will depend on what night you wish to go to the MVMCP. A mid week night will be less crowded than a Friday night for example.

Last year we went on Sat night and still did not wait more than 10 minutes for any ride, most were walk on to less than 5 minutes. This was early in December.

IMHO there is still many worthwhile shows and events to see to make this worth attending. The Christmas parade and the fireworks are great!

We would be gong the last night, 12/17...a Friday. How do you know how many tickets are up for sale? I mean, what is the max they will sell?

Best guess is 20,000 tickets, but I don't think Disney has ever officialy said what the number is. If it's true, then 20,000 is well below the "crowded" point for MK. Try riding durring the parade, that might help the line situation if it does turn out to be crowded.

I just read on Deb's site that 20,000 is about right, but I can't find a listing of the rides that are open....anyone know?

When we went to the MVMCP last December, I cannot recall any rides being closed (I'm sure some were though). Definitely all of the thrill rides were open. It was cool that evening and we couldn't believe anyone would ride Splash Mountain at 11:00 PM.

Make sure you arrive a little early. Often they let people in before the 7 PM start time. We hit the rides early and rode most of them by 9:00 PM. As time went on, the park became more crowded and lines longer. We then started watching the shows and parades.

Because it is the last night, it may be crowded.

I've never done an e-night but from what I read about them they are usually not that crowded.

I have done MVMCP 3 times now and it can be pretty crowded. It's not walk on...and fantasyland can be pretty crowded till the people with little ones go home, then you can pretty much have the park to yourself...during and after the second parade it does die down a lot.

BUT MVMCP is something to experience at least once. It's very magical and great fun! The snow on Main Street, the music, the decorations, MK at night, the parade, the speical shows, the free souvenir photo, the cookies and hot choc etc...it's just so wonderful!!

Essentially, everything is open for MVMCP, except for Hall of Presidents and Tom Sawyer Island, and the shows are holiday versions.

Thank you all....the fact that it is not a few select rides does make it more appealing...spread the crowds out more. E-night had good rides open, but only 10 or so which did impact the wait time. Ithink I will call and order the tix...if they are out, it was not meant to be!

You can enter after 4:00 with just your MVMCP ticket. We did this the past 2 years to get a jump on the party. Between 6:00 & 7:00, Tomorrowland is open for those with MVMCP wristbands. We head to the back of the park after 7:00, it is always empty back there. One time I think we were the only ones on the entire Pooh ride. Get our picture taken early.

The highlight is the parade and special fireworks, which can't be seen during regular hours (until close to Christmas).

The train also does not run.

We always go on Sunday or Tuesday, it has never been overcrowded.
