Community post: DVC: rooms and point renting

So I just had a brilliant idea (READ: was lurking on the Universal board and someone had a thread about it)
How would a blow up mattress go in a BWV room? use that instead of the double fold out?
the only issue would bedding being for a double rather than a queen, but we could make it work.
thoughts?

Jes ...are you concerned the sofa beds aren't comfortable? Because from what I've heard they're probably as comfortable as an air mattress -plus it folds up and disappears. The air mattress would work -are you thinking of deflating it each day or just leave it? I suppose you could pack(or have one shipped) the mattress that way if you don't care for the sofa you have a back-up plan.

and of course, if we go to the poly, I know we will spend quite a bit of time during those nights when no parks are open past 7:30pm and its still lovely and warm at night.

Don't know if you've been to FL in Jan, but it can be quite chilly at night - not a lot of chances for 'lovely and warm'!! Know it is 'summertime' in Australia, but heart of winter in US - even the deep south! (exceptions 'are' possible, but when we've gone in Jan. to Disney, it was cold!!! Brrrr :cold: :goodvibes

I'm not sure where January came from? We're going in September. Lol.
It wasn't warm for us at night in the world in late March/early April, so I've experienced the cool down. It's similar in Australia in Queensland. Beautiful and warm during the day, freezing at night

Yep, concerned about comfort.
Air mattresses have come a long way, quite comfortable indeed, and no metal support rod through the middle.
Not concerned about space, we don't plan on spending much time in the room.

Also, when renting points, have you done so on the boards (being the rentee or renter?) or have you done so through David's?
What was your experience like and pros/cons.

  • An explanation of renting points - READ BEFORE RENTING. There are significant differences between renting points and booking a hotel reservation with Disney. It is your responsibility to educate yourself on the process of renting points and perform the necessary due diligence prior to entering into any agreement to rent points.
