I don't like Spiders. I suppose I could lie and try to pull the whole macho man image thing, but if the truth be known, spiders freak me out. Big ones, little ones, hairy ones, bald ones, fast ones, slow ones - if it's a spider I don't like it.
Unfortunately no one in my home wants anything to do with spiders, so if one of these little creeps should make an appearance, I (the father figure) get the job of whacking the snot out of it.

I like snakes. As kids, my brother and I used to go snake catching, so no fear there.
Roaches - yuck, but not a big deal.
Slugs - yummy
Rats - don't care for them, but not worried about them either.
bees - many bad memories as a child, but still not a big deal
Jellyfish - take em leave em
Heights - is what makes roller coasters so much fun
Public speaking - it's part of my job, I really enjoy it
fire - loved making big ones as a kid
clowns - silly, but harmless (I would recommend to all those who have a fear of clowns to never read "it" by Steven King)

So I guess my one big fear in life are those eight-legged freaks. Yuck!!!!

I picked roaches because they tip the skeevy scale for me...:scared:
There was a bad roach problem in my first apartment moving back to St. Louis. I was moving from Jacksonville, FL to St. Louis, and I rented the apartment over the phone, sight unseen. BIG MISTAKE!!!! I was short on cash at the time, and needed a cheap place until I got back on my feet. Well, it was cheap for a reason!!

I barely unpacked there before I had to find another place. I couldn't share my space with those nasty creatures. ACK!! It gives me the chills just thinking about it. :scared:

Now I SHOULD HAVE picked bees because I'm deathly allergic to them. But I'm not even as afriad of those as I am of roaches. :sad2:

The big fat southern tree roaches freak me out because they can fly at you... Just thinking about this freaks me out.

Oh my gosh!! I have to agree with you. Those ARE the worst!!! :scared: :scared: :scared: :scared:
We have a HUGE old tree in front of our house, and another one across the alley from us in back. So it doesn't matter where I park at night, whether it's in the street out front or in the garage out back (we live on a city lot with a detached garage). I always have to see those nasty things. :headache:

It's worse in front though. In the back, they stay pretty much to the tree. In front, they wait for you on the sidewalk. I'm sure my neighbors get a kick out of the "dance" that I have to do to get from my car to the house. :lmao:

OK, I've got to close this thread before I curl up into a ball and start rocking back and forth.

I would venture to say that "It" is the starting point where many if not most of us became scared of clowns in the first place!! That, and the evil, evil clown doll from "Poltergeist"... :scared1:

It was close between spiders and snakes for me... spiders won however (as I have frequently had spiders find their way in my house but thankfully, never a snake)! :upsidedow
