Ok,
I need to pull in the ropes and get myself under control before I do serious damage. I was in control till the beginning of the month an then we went to Williamsburg Va and I haven't been able to jump back on.

So I am going back to a Commitment thread that originally gave me so much help.

My committment for today is to have a totally OP day and exercise tonight. I know once I have a few days of being OP it will be easy, but sometimes its hard to get OP when your body isn't used to it and it rebels.

I am also committing to getting on the Treadmill for 30 minutes tonight and just walking at a nice pace.

Who wants to join me this week. Your committment can be anything small or large.

My committment is to go swimming every day.

Stick to my points each day.

Stay off the scales.

My commitments of the day are:

1) To NOT use any flex points today, I will commit to stick to my allotted points and activity points.

2) To exercise at least 45 minutes today.

3) Put away the laundry that I folded YESTERDAY. :earseek:

Ok,
so far so good.

I've have 10 points left for the end of the day. (8 if I want to actually do how many I should get for my weight).

I'll check in when I have exercised.

Melanie - nice to see you posting!!!!

I'll join the commitment thread.

I commit today to work out with the Firm twice - I did once this morning (super cardio sculpt) but I want to add an ab work out Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays during the week.

I also commit to getting in at least 80 ounces of water. I've drank 72 already so I should make it today.

Thanks for starting this commitment thread Mel. Good job everyone!

Okay, my commitment for today is to stick to my WW pts. and not go over. I also commit to doing at least 30 min. on the treadmill tonight. So far, so good...I still have 14 pts. left. I would commit to drinking so much water, but I usually drink 100+ oz. anyway. That is all I drink so I guess I am doing good on that! ;)

MELANIE!!!

It is sooooooo good to see you posting again!:goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes I just knew that with your level of committment you'd be back in no time. You have been missed!

I'm going to be joining your Committment Thread, too (hey, just like the old days!). I've kept up with the exercise end of things, but some days I eat nothing but JUNK---and actually they are starting to outnumber my nutritionally sound days. And I know that even with consistent exercise, the poor eating will catch up eventually. I'm also eating late at night which is not good for weight maintenance. Blech. I swear sometimes that maintaining my weight loss is actually more difficult than losing it was in the first place.

OK, here are my committments starting tomorrow:

*Continue with my 6 day/week exercise. No problem there ("I know you're tired, but jump higher!"):faint:

*Get back to eating healthy again. More fruits and veggies, and keeping the protein high. Note to self: Eating half a bag of cookies and then starving yourself the rest of the day to make up for all the cookie calories does not count as SMART EATING!!!

*No eating after 7pm. Going to bed at midnight with a full stomach of icky foods (let's face it, if I'm eating at midnight it's gonna be the tasty-but-baaaaad-for-me stuff!) makes me feel gross at night and sluggish & grumpy the next morning.:crazy2:

Mel, I'm so happy to see you posting again and a BIG THANK YOU for starting this thread--it's just what I've needed!

Good Luck with your committments, everyone!:cool1:

P.S. HI WISH SIS LISA! :love2:

What a great idea...thank you for starting this Melanie! :wave2:

My commitment will be to walk 10,000 steps per day. I wear a pedometer daily, but lately I haven't been doing enough to reach that goal. I would be experiencing more weight loss if I would get my steps up!

Thanks for starting this thread Melanie, it' just what I need! My commitments for today are:

Stay 100% OP. That means no picking at food!

No eating after 7pm. That's when I've started doing most of my picking!

Make healthy food choices.

I'll let you know how I go on :sunny:

Day 2 of being committed. I did good yesterday. I got in two Firm work outs and drank at least 80 ounces of water. Today will be more of the same. I've already done my Firm work out for the day (super body sculpt - upper and lower body) and I'm on my 3rd mug of water and it's just 10:00 am.

I wish everyone well with their commitments today!

Hi Everyone-

Catherine! Wow you are doing so amazing at your weight loss. 120 pounds is awesome!! Way to go!

I did successfully stay within my points and my scale was down this morning ALOT from what it was yesterday morning. Today is starting out well.

I didn't exercise, but I think I need to wait until August to start that anyway. I need to get the eating back under control and sometimes trying to do too many things at once can cause you to fail at all of them. So for now it's concentrating just on the eating thing. Plus, I want to WI by the end of the month at WW"s and I am afraid if I start exercising again I will gain muscle and won't have my best chance to loose.

Who know's, if I can get my weight down (I only need to loose around 4 pounds to not have to pay at WW's, so it should be easy to do by next Saturday. I always notice I loose alot my first week of watching what I eat). Then when I start exercising, maybe I can actually get under my WW goal so that I have the room to eat a little without being in this same boat each month.

How did everyone do yesterday??

Kimmie- So glad to see posting regularly again. I seemed to fall off the face of the earth when you started posting again. Silly me!!

Lisa- I just posted to the FIRM thread, I am going to start FIRMing the beginning of August. I am actually excited. I can't wait to prove DH wrong. He said last night that he thinks I wont' start again and that I wasted all that money on all of my 40 something video's! I love a challenge, LOL!

Hi everyone!

I'm checking in a little early today as ds8 has a doubleheader baseball game tonight and we'll be at the field for a couple of hours (less time to snack!).

Melanie, I'm so glad that you started this thread! I know I need to learn to be accountable to myself, but it sooooo helps to know that others are struggling with the same things I am. Great job staying OP and I know that Allie will be waiting for you when you're ready to get back to FIRMing!:) Way to go Mel!

Minniespal--Swimming is SO GOOD for you--have fun! Good luck with your points & scale committments!

CruisingCA--As I type this I have three loads of laundry stacked on my dryer that have been there since yesterday morning. The clothes are just staring at me...mocking me... Good luck with your exercise and flex points committments!

Tasha+Scott--Way to go on your WW points and treadmilling! I wish I could drink that much water, as Diet Dr. Pepper and Diet Pepsi are about the only things I drink. Diet soda is my only vice!

LuvTigger--WOW! 10,000 steps is just awesome! Good luck with your goals!

Hi Catherine! Your committments sound so very similar to my own (I "pick" too!). 120 pounds gone is just fantastic! I lost 110 so I know what a challenge it is. Congratulations on all your successes and much luck with your committments!

Oh Lisa my WISH Sis! Two FIRM vids in one day?!:faint: Pretty soon s&k'smom and I are going to be calling you Zeras (Need A Burger) Pride!:teeth: Exxxxxxccelent job woman!

I did well with my committments yesterday (it's so hard not to eat after 7pm!) and I've exercised and made healthy food choices today. I feel so much better when I eat well--when oh when will I learn my lesson?!

Have a lovely day, Committers, and good luck to all!:sunny:

Melanie - You're doing a great job and you'll be back at the WW meetings for free soon!!! We would love to have you posting regularly with us on the Firm thread. As I have said before, you are the Firm queen and we miss you. Hurry up August, I know you can prove to your husband that you didn't buy those work out tapes for nothing!!!! :teeth:

Kim - Hi WISH sis! I hope everything is well with you. Have a great time at the games tonight and I know you'll stay away from those snacks! I almost can't believe I'm up to 2 work outs on some days. It's amazing what a little motivation can do for a gal. I'm trying to fit comfortably into a suit I bought. Then it's back to once daily for me. Btw, I don't think anyone would ever confuse me and Nancy (needs to eat a burger) but thanks for the sweet compliment. Take care!

Keep up the the great work everyone. It's so encouraging to come here and read how determined everyone is!

Yeah, yeah, yeah, Mel---what Lisa said! Grrrrrrrrrrr...

I did really well yesterday...I actually exceeded my goal a little bit. I had planned to do 30 min. on the treadmill, but I ended up doing 40 instead. That was the equivalent of a 2 mile walk. I plan to stay w/in my pts. again today and hopefully walk another 40 min. again tonight. Good luck everyone!

My commitments for the rest of the week.

1) Stay within my points range every day. (if you bite it write it!!!)

2) Exercise Daily

3) Increase Water Intake

4) Repeat steps 1, 2, 3

Thanks for this thread!!!
I need it after my measily one pound weight loss this week! (Although it's more like 6 if I count from when I started being more healthy (3 weeks))

Ok,
Yesterday was day two totally OP. The pounds are actually dropping pretty quickly. If I could loose another 2.8 (I know I am probably retaining that in water) I could possibly do it. It's not unusual for me to have a couple weeks of overeating and loose 5-7 pounds in one week.

I am going to the Jersey Shore this weekend, so I have to remain strong and not eat overindulgingly. Friday DH is coming to take me out to lunch, but I have decided to have the seafood dish with brown rice at a chinese restaurant so I should be ok.

Stephanie- A one pound loss is not measily!! You go girl. Take it one day at a time! You will be successful.

Tasha & Scott- Congrats on exceeding your goal. Woo Hoo!

Lisa- Thanks for your encouragement. This thread is exactly what I needed.

Kimmie- Thanks for your encouragement too! You guys are the greatest. I agree- I feel so much better when I eat well. While I was eating all this junk the past few weeks. The taste was great, but how I felt afterwards was not. I just felt huge, bloated and I don't like the feeling when you eat late at night. It gives you an awful full feeling in the morning. I like waking up hungry and ready to eat and exercise.

How is everyone doing today?? Keep at it! We can do it! We Rock!

Today, so far so good for me! I started the day with a short but tough ab work out with Firm super body sculpt (ab portion only). Considering today is a "rest" day for me, I wanted to take it easy and not use weights but work on a problem spot at the same time. I have had 3 mugs of water and am working on my 4th. I try to get in 6 or 7 at work and I'm half way there.

We're going to Dave and Busters at about 5:00 this evening and the have a lc menu (I checked on line) so I should be okay finding somethings to eat for me and DH.

Everyone keep up the great work!!!

Melanie, thanks again for starting this, it has really motivated me to get up to 10,000 steps per day! Yesterday, I did just under 11,000, and the previous day, I did close to 15,000! Today is my scheduled walking day with BF and a friend, so I shouldn't have any problems reaching my goal today either.

Last week was really difficult for me to stay OP because of several social events. I still managed to lose 1/2 pound, but previously I was losing about 3 lbs a week. I think if I had been walking more, I would have lost more.

Congratulations to everyone striving to reach their goals!!

I did good yesterday b/c I managed to stay OP. I only did 20 min. on the treadmill = 1 mile, b/c I was running a fever. I realized today I was running a fever b/c I have an abcess or something in my mouth. It is causing my head to hurt and giving me an earache. So I am hoping that will get better on its own. Anyway, I plan to stay OP again today...so far so good. I also plan to do atleast 20 min. on the treadmill. I want to go longer, but since I haven't felt well, I think 20 min. is a pretty good goal. Good luck today, everyone!
