Commando v. Casual - The Innate Planner Battles the Inner Pirate - 2-8 P22

Nope, sugar products don't seem to bother me at all...sometimes I wish they did! :rotfl2:

I'm not sure whether or not I'm supposed to do this... :yay:

or this... :confused3

;)

Lovely chapter as always!

Thank you!

We really enjoyed MSEP in January - it was a nice change from Spectro.

Agreed. I like Spectro, but I don't love it the way I love the MSEP.

We tried the phone but it wasn't working. I will have to try again. Love all of the tiny hidden details that make WDW so amazing!

Wasn't working! :scared1: Bummer. I hope you'll get to hear it next time. :thumbsup2

What a great first day!!! Lots of fun and memories both new and old!

:goodvibes

Awe, Miss Kat, what a beautiful update. :goodvibes

Thank you.

I am glad that you got to catch the parade.

Me, too.

I too am a lover of purple cotton candy. One of our movie theaters sells it here and I always get that as my snack when we go. I never did get to try Disney's but I will make sure I will the next time I go.

:thumbsup2

If you find it can you post it here? I would so love to see that picture. Cotton Candy is truely one of my favorite treats.

I've been looking and I don't think it's on my laptop. I'm going to have to check our desktop computer downstairs.

one bite is about all I can handle of cotton candy but I'll have to remember to look for samples of purple!

Yes! You nver know when someone may gift you with a sample of cotton candy! Talk about pixie dust. I can't eat a whole bag by any stretch so that sample was just perfect.

Love the phone story.

Thanks. :goodvibes

Are you sure you're not some type of mind reader?!?!?! Turns out I was reading about that phone and wondering where exactly in WDW it was...and low and behold....I now know...THANKS!!!

Isn't MSEP wonderful!!!!

YAY for another fantastic chapter!

and for those who are new to my trip reports, let me preface this mega post by saying that MJS and I bought a house this year.

Actually, in some ways, I like to think that my mother gave me this house. Because it was a portion of my inheritance money that I used as a down payment. And when we first looked at it, even though it was an overwhelming amount of work that needed to be done, there were little signs throughout that Mom approved.

And then I had a dream about her and my children playing in the yard, and that pretty much cinched it for me.

It was a LONG process, and it's an even longer story. Suffice it to say it's our first house, it's a major fixer upper, and we've been in the process of doing all that work. Well, I design, MJS does the work. I'm the queen of unpacking, he's reno (as in renovation) man.

So for you who would like to know, here are the fruits of our labors. And I promise, this is Disney related.

There's lots of little Disney things throughout my house. Let's see how many you can spot.

Hi Kat,

I have been absent from the DIS since losing my mom. Something about that world going on thing made it really difficult to put myself into this place. It was like accepting that I could go on too. But just recently I've been thinking more and more about it. I finally logged back in today and what did I see right on top but a TR from You! It was a sign that I'm meant to come back, I think.

I've been to Disney twice this year and I've had a lot of other changes in my life so I'm going to think about starting a trip report of my own. Big step.

Thanks for putting yourself out there. You make a difference.

My, you all have been BUSY!!!!! :) Everything looks wonderful my dear!!! Your Mom would be so proud!!! I know she is probably right there in that house just "loving what you have done with the place!" Congrats again sweetie!

I've seen these pictures before but they are no less impressive!! I just can't believe the changes in your house! Amazing. :thumbsup2

Your new house is just gorgeous!!! You and MJS are doing an awesome job fixing it up! So pretty! I am still in love with your new kitchen! :thumbsup2

:welcome:

My dear, sweet friend. I understand. And I am so happy to see you back, now that you feel "ready." It takes time. As you know. Anything I can say, I'm sure you've already thought.

And thank you so much for saying that I make a difference, because really, this isn't just meant to be an entertaining jaunt into the World with my family. I hope it means something, and I know it does to you.

We've been busy little worker bees! And thank you very much for your kind words.

Thanks, LL!!! When I put all the pictures together like that, I can't quite believe it myself. :lmao:

Thank you, CP!!! :goodvibes

You guys have gotten so much done! The house looks great! We are on our second fixer upper house. I told DH never again. If we move, I am building one brand new!

Ooo, building one brand new sounds so lovely. Picking where everything goes, your own floor plans... :cloud9:

However, I've heard that process can be just as much of a nightmare, so I guess I shouldn't think the grass is always greener. :lmao:

Thanks for the compliments. :goodvibes

What wonderful kindness bestowed on your during your last minute arrival to the parade. It's so wonderful to experience the kindness of total strangers.

Your house renovations are quite impressive. That is a huge amount of work so congrats for accomplishing it so quickly and doing such an awesome job. I especially love the kitchen! I love the white cabinets.

Agreed. Totally, totally agreed.

Thank you!

Everything looks beautiful!

Thanks, hon!

Totally forgot to mention that we used a lot of Disney paint! :)

Nemo's room is Buzz Blaster Blue.

Squirt's room is Mickey Sailor.

The kitchen cabinets are New Day Dew.

I think that's it. :scratchin

Kat, I missed a couple of updates, but I'm back (and thank you for the sweet PM's yesterday....I just wish we could have worked it out ).

I love the Main Street Electrical Parade. It was the first parade I ever saw or my boys ever saw. Unfortunately, we missed it last night, but I will NOT miss it this year if I can help it.

What a sweet woman to let Nemo stand in front with her children. I don't understand why more people don't do this? Don't they realize these little kids can't see over the big people? Mark and I always give our spots up, whether we are sitting or standing at the curb, sitting on a pillar's ledge, etc.

The house looks great! I love the boys' rooms. You and DH have done a great job!

Fingers and toes crossed that you get to see it! :goodvibes

That's so nice! And you know, I never even assumed that anyone would do that for us. We were lucky in that the people in front were sitting, so Nemo had a pretty clear view anyway, but offering to let him stand with her kids behind the people that were sitting, well that was really sweet, and unexpected. :goodvibes

I've heard that too! But, I am tired of fixing other people's mistakes! I would rather make my own! We shall see - maybe some day!

Hurray for using Disney paint!!! :thumbsup2

I have to say, as far as fixer uppers go, yes we've found some "dumb" things but, for the most part, it's all been easy to fix. And the good thing in this sense is that we really liked the house, and my husband felt we'd paint anything we went into anyway and change it however we liked, this way we're really getting to know what's behind those walls, what's going on in that room, etc.

Starting from scratch could be so nice though. :lmao:
