Commando v. Casual - The Innate Planner Battles the Inner Pirate - 2-8 P22

Hey Kat - just don't you worry about updating! We are here and this is your TR, so you go at whatever pace works. I leave mine go for 2 weeks sometimes, then come back and do 3 updates in 2 days!

Thank you! :goodvibes

I hope you can help your friend and you both can help each other. I'm sure it is a very difficult thing (can't say firsthand) so just know that we support you!

She's an awesome friend, and she's the one who recommended her therapist to me. I absolutely adore my friend and my therapist, so that was a win-win referral! :lmao:

Happy Birthday Squirt!! I bet that year flew by, didn't it! I didn't nurse that long but I remember it being sort of bittersweet when we were done with that phase!

It did go by so fast. And ending nursing is bittersweet. He's already so independent, this is just one more thing.

Kat,

I just found your pre-trip report and report yesterday. It took all my free time, but I am all caught up. I can't imagine how difficult and wonderful this trip was for you all at one, but I can't wait to hear more about it!

:welcome:

I love your DIS name! :goodvibes Are you absolutely Alice? ;)

I can't believe you've read it all so quickly! Thank you for joining along on my crazy ride.

I have so much more sympathy for people going through loss now, but selfishly it's also so much harder to be strong for them. Part of me wants to hide when I hear about yet another friend dealing with death or even just with cancer. Remember to take care of yourself too.

I talk to my therapist all the time about the "shoulds" -- I feel like I should be handling things better now, after all it's been almost a year. I should be able to realistically accept mom's death, but honestly I'm still struggling with losing such a huge part of my life. And each milestone that happens for me or the kids happens without her and makes things difficult again. I get it. And all I can say is that it sucks and I'm here to listen and understand.

It's hard to remember to take care of myself. I remember how wonderful everyone was for me, and what a great support, and I want to do the same, you know? At the same time, it's so hard.

Ah, those "shoulds." I totally, totally hear you, understand you, and am so glad you understand me. It really, really helps.

You know, my husband said something to me last night that seemed so insightful, even though it was pretty simple.

"It's never going to get easier. Everything you do without her is going to be hard, because you miss her."

He's right. I don't mean it to sound negative. It's not going to get easier, I'm only going to learn how to deal with it better. That's all.

Squirt will be one. He's starting to self-wean, so we won't be nursing much longer.

Dude, wasn't it just yesterday you and I had this covo:

Me: Hello?
You: Hi. I had a baby.

I love you a whole lot.
And every day may not be easier but every day you are stronger. Trust Tink. Tink knows. ;)

Also I just wanted to let you know part of the reason I joined the gym is because of you, Tink, LL, and Jen. I want to be healthy and all of you encourage me even though you didn't know it.

One day we'll all have to do a Disney 5K together! :grouphug:

I would love to do the 5K sometime!!! I recently started doing the Couch to 5K and I come back here and read to get inspiration from you ladies!!!!

No joke! That's exactly what you said! And I think I followed it up with, "Wait, what?"

I thought so. It was too funny not to be true.

In my defense, I'd just had a baby. I may have been a little tired. Not firing on all pistons.

And totally totally in love. For the third time. MJS, Nemo, Squirt. :thumbsup2

I may try to do the Wine and Dine 5K again next year, depending on finances. If not, though, maybe 2013?

I think 2013 sounds awesome!

I like the idea of 2013 for the Princess. I really wanna do the princess, I want to wear a tutu or something because where else do I have an excuse to wear a tutu? :lmao:

LOL...running in a tutu sounds fun!!!! :lmao: It definitely would be a once in a lifetime opportunity LOL!!!!

Picture this if you will...tutus, tiaras, tiedye. It's the T Trifecta!

Ladies, I think we have a pre trip report title.

And oh, my goodness. I so want to run in a tutu, tiara, and tie dye now.

Well, we share him, therefore, he did not make my list.

Although I think I'm more in lust...well...let's not go there. :lmao:
