Hello all!
I've only been a DIS-er for a short while and have gained so much knowledge from this board. As a thank you for all of the help I have received, I am going to attempt a travel report with food reviews when we come back from our trip. Our family is going to WDW in just 11 short days and staying at the ASMu.
It all started out on a whim. Some people I knew were taking advantage of the 4/3 deal. The more they talked, the more jealous I got. I started playing with the figures and managed to win my DH over.
This is our first REAL vacation since my daughter was born nearly 4 years ago!
It's time for us to get down and have some fun! This is the first time we have been on the DDP
The Cast:
Me - Elizabeth (28) - I'm the wife and mom.
My first trip to The World was when I was 7 years old. Unfortunately, I don't remember much other than the Nickelodeon that used to be there. There are no pictures of the blessed trip because they got lost along the way. My mom is still mad about that. LOL!
My dh and I first stayed on campus when my friend was doing his college internship there (I was in college and unwed at the time). We stayed at POR and had a fabulous time! The next time we went was in 2004 when I was pregnant with my dd.
Oh yeah, and I always choke up when we come through the front gates and walk down Main Street.
I'm sure I will be a mess when I take my dd through there. I love food and trying new things. I don't like eating wierd animals, but I'm game for almost anything else!
DH - Jim (39) - He's the husband and the dad.
His first trip was as a baby in 1971! That's right, his family drove all the way from MA to FL to go to the Mouse House. Cool, right?! His family doesn't *get* Disney and all of it's wonder.
Really. He grew up going atleast once a year and now has a full appreciation for the World and all of it's magic.
We joking call my dh "Hoover." He can and will eat almost anything...even if he doesn't enjoy it.
DD - Roo (3.99999) - She's the daughter and sister.
This is her first trip to WDW and her first REAL vacation! She loves princesses and pooh and all things Playhouse Disney. She's my picky eater and enjoys mostly "kid" food. Hotdogs, nuggets, pizza, you got it....I'd PAY this kid to eat her veggies.
DS - Mac (11 months) - He's the son and the brother.
This is also his first trip to WDW and his first real vacation! He loves hanging out with the family, pulling his sister's hair and eating random things found on the floor.
This kid is small but he can pack it away with the best of them! He could definately eat his sister under the table.
Now, onto our plans!
I'm pretty much the master planner. I like to plan everything about the meals and tickets and all that jazz. My family is just along for the ride. My planning style is to have a basic outline and to go with the flow. Since we have kids along, this will be a much more laid back trip and we usually do. I am planning on mostly half days at the parks or going back after dinner.
We are arriving in Orlando mid-morning on 2/9/09. We will stop by ASMu and drop our stuff off and hit the road. Our days will look like this...
