Jeanette & family had lunch on Monday at...

Grand Floridian Cafe


She said, "Thanks to this thread, I booked lunch at the Grand Floridian Cafe. Somehow I failed to get pictures of either a sign or menu??!"



"We had Shrimp Cocktail..."





"Seasonal salad..."




"Both were fresh and full of flavour - the shrimp was quite spicy."



Entrees:




"Grand Floridian Burger with chips - this was my first burger of the trip and it was awesome."

And then another update from Jeanette, this one from their dinner on Monday at Fort Wilderness'...












She said, We started with salad and cornbread. We all think cornbread is just like cake!!"









"Followed by corn, beans, mashed potato, ribs and fried chicken."


















"And for dessert, Strawberry Shortcake..."






"This isn't fine dining(!) but the show is fun and the food is adequate."



"The short boat ride home meant we could have a late swim, watch the water pageant and catch up with friends over a Lodge Fizz in the Territory Lounge."

Next in yesterday were a couple of updates from Gin0818. First one was from their dinner on Tuesday night at Magic Kingdom's...






Gin said, "Jill had fruit punch in the fancy goblet to drink and I had water and a Saison Dupont."








"Both were good and they were kind enough to wash Jill's goblet and put it in a bag for us before we left."



"Jill started with a fruit cup...





and I had the French onion soup, it was delicious."




"For dinner, Jill had pasta with butter and cheese, which is not on the menu but the waitress offered while going over the menu."



"Jill loved it and made me try it. She thought it was so good and yes it tasted like pasta with butter."


"I had the steak entree..."



"I found the steak to be a little fatty and the portion was huge. I couldn't finish it. The green beans on the side were awesome and the French fries were nice and crispy."



"No cupcakes here for us. I had special ordered a mini cake for Jill's birthday. They brought out the grey stuff first which I did not even get a taste of. Jill gulped it down."



"And then the cake, which looked beautiful and tasted great."





"The restaurant was beautiful and the service was exceptional but it was so loud in there. I'm not sure we will eat there again."​

Gin followed up with this update from the...





She said, "After stuffing ourselves at Be Our Guest we of course went to the Fireworks Dessert Party. Not the best timing but we really do this more for the seating. With just the two of us, it's much easier than trying to fight the crowds."

"We shared everything. There is a chocolate chip cookie, sugar cookie, cherries, a banana tart, brownie, rice krispie treat, cupcake, and ice cream. It was all good minus the banana tart, which I get every year hoping it'll be good but it never is."



"I will say I found the party to be much more crowded than the other times we've done it. They have definitely squeezed in more tables but we had a good time."​

Another lurker here. Thank you Barb - and all of those that send in your updates for all of the work that goes in to maintaining this thread. I love the pics and the feedback - even though it does make me hungry!!

A question for those who may know better than I do. We are heading to F&W with our 23 y.o. DS and I was sending him some food pics (he thinks I am slightly crazy ). Sent him this and then noticed that it was 'buble' gum icing. Typo or am I missing something?

Thanks again Barb. I'm really sad to read you're considering retiring soon. I don't blame you at all, because I can't even IMAGINE how much work operating this thread is. But it's such a joy to read at home, and an even bigger joy to participate in while at the World! Trips just won't be the same without texting you!

She said, "Good morning from Wilderness Lodge! We got breakfast from Roaring Fork this morning.

Had to have a Mickey waffle fix!"





"We had plain, chocolate chip, and bananas foster Mickey waffles, a kids breakfast platter, and a side of scrambled eggs."

















"They didn't disappoint!"


"I also had a croissant, fruit, and coffee from the OFC lounge."

Brenda said, "Boma is always a favorite! It was a great last meal before transferring from AKL to the Yacht Club."






"The buffet choices are plenty to please anyone."






"I made a stop at the omelette station for a spinach and mushroom omelette - always delish! I also added a couple waffles to my plate. Although not Mickey waffles, they are still good!"


"Not sure why I added a scoop of the goat cheese/chive scrambled eggs since I only had one bite and remembered I didn't like them that much. But the grilled asparagus was good and what can you say about oatmeal...it was my nod to something healthy since I don't add sugar." ​

Hello Barb and folks,
We are checking in for our Sept. trip. We will be checking into the Pop Century on Sept. 14th for 2 entire weeks of free dining. Luanne and myself both enjoy food and are looking forward to sharing the sin of gluttony with the readers of this thread.
I have decided not to post a list of our ADRs as things tend to change, but rest assured there will be some good stuff.

"DH and I shared the press pot, while DD kept up the Britishness by having hot tea."










"DD had pancakes with sausage - given the pancakes were bigger than her head, she only managed one!"








"I had the macadamia-pineapple pancakes - fantastic!"








"And because he fancied a bit of everything, DH had the Big Kahuna."







"The food and service were great. Last time we were here we stayed at the Poly and whilst I prefer the Wilderness Lodge, I miss the transport links!! Following breakfast we strolled to the TTC for the Epcot monorail." ​

San Angel Inn




"We were seated at a nice waterfront table for 2."



"We had a young sweet gal as our server and the only flaw in the entire meal was not getting chips/salsa before the meal arrived. A minor issue and not that we need them."

"It was really dark in here and hard to get photos!"


"Em chose the steak tacos. They were served with rice and black beans. They were great!"





"I chose two apps for my meal, the shrimp cocktail..."




Coctel de Camaron - Acapulco-style shrimp cocktail, served with spicy marinated tomato sauce, fried flour chicharron, avocado and lime


"This wasn't what I expected from a Mexican restaurant. The tomato sauce was rather bland but the shrimp cocktail were plentiful and tasty. The "chips" served with the shrimp cocktail were fried flour tortilla strips with a splash of hot sauce (chicarrons)."



"The second app I ordered was the fabulous chicken tostadas..."



Tostadas de Tinga - Pulled chicken seasoned with roasted tomato and chipotle, served on tostadas with black refried beans, green tomatillo sauce, queso fresco and sour cream


"They were so good!"


"We really like San Angel Inn and would try it again. Perhaps not a must do but we'd return." ​

"First of all, I had no idea what to expect. I had read a few things on disboards and most were good reviews. I was able to get a reservation for all 7 of us just yesterday, bonus!"

"Before I review, here are menu pics..."




























Here's what they had...

"Bread - you have to ask for it. It was served with olive oil and was very good."





"We had arancini - absolutely delicious!"





"Calamari - I don't eat it but DH and the kids loved it."





"My dad had the shrimp appetizer with white beans. He really enjoyed it."





"My DH got an individual pizza with no cheese and with chicken sausage."






"And lastly we had a mezzo pizza (HUGE!), 1/2 margherita and 1/2 pepperoni.
So so so delicious! The crust was so good - better than any pizza I've had!"





"Oh I also had a blood orange aqua fresca. Yummy!"





"No dessert....maybe next time because the gelato looked so amazing!"



"I will definitely go back! We used TIW and got a 20% discount."​

Mary said, "The first place we ate:"














"DS had Kids Pizza, said it was good."





"Other DS had Kids cheeseburger. Said it was fine, nothing special."






"DH had grilled chicken sandwich with pepperjack cheese."




"He said the chicken was tough but fries were hot."


"I had the turkey sandwich with apple slices and cheese (not sure what kind of cheese, sorry)."



"Sandwich was tasty but that's just my opinion."


"Ate at 4:00 p.m. so Contempo Café wasn't busy at all...perfect time to eat. To be honest we were so famished we barely tasted our food."
