Amy said, "Yesterday we were lucky enough to get into BoG for lunch! It opened at 10:00 a.m. this week. The nephews and I had Croque Monsieur (Grilled sandwich of carved ham, Gruyere cheese, and bechamel). Applesisters had the Veggie Quiche and BIL had the Quinoa Salad.
We all agreed this was a lovely new option for MK." :thumbsup2

Then we received this final update from Debra (debrapagliasotti), as her trip ended yesterday. :sad1:

Debra said, "Dinner this evening was eaten while at MCO. We used leftover dining credits and picked up sandwiches from the Boardwalk Bakery. We got 4 of the Turkey, Bacon, and Swiss Sandwiches with chips and Mickey blueberry muffins for dessert. The sandwiches were HUGE!!! These were really good and fresh."

I also received a final update from disneychristmasx3, but sadly my coffee cup is empty so I guess it's time to get to work. ;) I'll get her update posted tomorrow, along with any updates I receive from Amy today.

Sounds like a wonderful yummy event. Good luck with your party and thanks so much for these wonderful live reviews. It really helps with my withdrawal symptoms.

What a great idea for a Christmas Party! I would Never get my family to eat anything but traditional food for christmas I would love to do something like that! Thanks for all the work you do! Hope your party turns out great!

I love this thread, Barb. I know I have said this, but we really appreciate your hard work in keeping this going. One my favorite things to do each day is come over here and see what has been posted. :goodvibes

I could not agree more! This is great! Wish I could've been of more help during my stay in October but I'm already planning to have DH give me a crash course with his smartphone when we go next December.

I tried to send in dining reviews, but our internet connection at SSR was truly awful. And I took all of the food photos in the camera. Uploading to photoshop or just trying to send it via e-mail was out of the question since I kept getting dropped. I eventually had to give up. And I felt bad about it. If I get a chance to try it again, I am definitely doing it on my phone. This is a fun thread ..... food porn every day - WOOT !!!:cool1::banana:

Very excited to be a live reporter! We are unsure if we are sticking with our DDP or we are going to change to QSDP. If we do regular DDP then we have reservations at :

'Ohana
La hacienda
Akershus
Boma
Kona
Tusker house
Via Napoli - this one we will keep no matter what!

We are going to try and stand in what we hear us a very long line for BoG lunch but it depends on our kids 5 and 6 months.

Must try snacks:

Chocolate covered everything! No but really just grapes and pineapple :)
Sea salt caramel
Napoleon

I just wanted to say thanks so much for starting this thread, jabead. I really enjoyed watching this thread before my trip and then documenting my meals while I was there. I'm sure I'll keep reading this thread to see what other folks are eating and enjoying.

Hello everyone! :wave2:

Thanks so much for all the posts yesterday, keeping the thread active for me while I was busy getting ready for our 3rd Annual Christmas Around the World party. The party was a great success, if I do say so myself. ;) We finally remembered to take lots of pics this year, so if anyone is interested I can post them here in lieu of Disney food updates. We currently have only one reporter at Disney World (Amy, AppleSister1) and I haven't heard from her since Friday.

But I do still owe you an update that I received on Friday from disneychristmasx3.
It was her final update and it is a grand finale! :thumbsup2

Her update began with their lunch at...

Via Napoli

disneychristmasx3 said, "We were on the road home yesterday [Thursday] so my last update is late! For lunch Wednesday, we were at Via Napoli. We all enjoyed the individual pizzas. DS and I each had the Quattro Formaggi. It was delicious and surprisingly not at all oily."

"At this point we still had 24 snack credits to use and just about 12 hours of vacation left including sleeping! We hit Karamell Kuche and we hit it hard. I believe we have a variety of salted caramels, cookies, Rice Krispie treats, bags and bags of Werthers treats and more. It all got packaged for travel but the above is the gingerbread house in their window."

More of disneychristmasx3's final update coming soon! :thumbsup2

Following some more after-party cleanup :crazy2:...

here is the second installment of disneychristmasx3's final update.

Chefs de France

disneychristmasx3 said, "Our final dinner was at Les Chefs de France. This was one of only 2 ADR's on this trip that were repeats for us. The other was Le Cellier. Les Chefs was the only meal of the entire trip that was a disappointment." :(

Bisque de homard - Lobster bisque

"All 3 kids had the lobster bisque, which was just barely warm but very tasty. DH and I had the French onion soup.
It was the highlight of our meal but was scalding hot! Picture of that one has gone missing."

"DS had the macaroni and cheese with gruyere cheese. It had very little flavor and we had to add salt."

Plat de Cote de Boeuf au Cabarnet avec pates
Beef short ribs braised in Cabernet with pasta, pearl onions and mushrooms

"DH, DS, and I each had the short ribs. They had absolutely no taste at all. We added salt and pepper and still absolutely flavorless. Didn't even bother to eat more than a couple of bites." :sad2:

For dessert, DS and I each had the sorbet trio. They didn't tell you what the flavors were but we knew the orange one was mango. We are guessing the pale yellow one was pineapple, and we have no idea what the white one was. Consensus was the pineapple was amazing and other two got left behind."

Profiteroles au Chocolat
Puff choux with vanilla ice cream topped with chocolate sauce.

"DS and DH got the profiteroles. They cleaned their plates. As a whole the appetizers and desserts were very, very good, but the entrees were bland and flavorless. I have taken some French cooking classes and nothing we ever made was ever bland. A disappointment on what was already a second chance so this was our last visit here. I will say our server was wonderful though. Which was a trend this trip. Great service at every single meal." :thumbsup2

"At this point it was 10 p.m. and we were leaving after breakfast the next morning. We still had 16 CS credits, so 11 spare with 5 saved for breakfast!!! :scared1: So we decided we should hit Port Orleans [Riverside Mill] sandwich counter to get sandwiches for the road. We arrived at 10:15 and it had closed at 10:00! So it was back to the "Make your own Pasta"! ;) We got 5 fettuccine Alfredos with shrimp, packaged to go, and voila! No need to cook when we arrived home late last night!" :thumbsup2

2 Point Roulette Bet placed on Epcot Group 3 for Chefs de France

And now for the last installment of disneychristmasx3's final update.

She said, "On the morning of checkout we stopped at Wolfgang Puck Express for breakfast before hitting the road."

Wolfgang Puck Express

Smoked Bacon Pizza with scrambled eggs, tomatoes, mozzarella and cheddar cheese and ranch dressing

"Three of us chose the smoked bacon breakfast pizza. It was good but not quite as flavorful as we remembered it."

Belgian Waffle served with strawberries and bananas, maple syrup and whipped cream

"DD and DS chose the Belgian Waffle. It was good but by now I think we were all just done with all the eating.
Nobody was even hungry!" :worried:

"So we still had 6 unused CS credits. Even though it was only 8:30 in the morning, we were able to go to Earl of Sandwich and order from the full menu. We ordered an assortment of sandwiches and brownies packed to go so unfortunately no pictures. They were meant to be lunch during the 10 hour drive. But we never did eat them. It took the full 10 hours to get hungry. We ended up sharing sharing only 2 of the Make your own Pastas between the 5 of us before heading straight to bed!"

Also possibly Mariep26??? emmebear will probably be returning to the World sometime in February and I'm hoping that we can count on her to do live updates if she does. I'm also looking forward to Linda67's live updates from Disneyland Paris during her February trip there.

So thank you to all of you who have volunteered so far. :goodvibes But we are definitely in need of more volunteers, so if you have a trip planned in February, please consider joining our Live Reporting Team.
