Are crocs really comfortable?

since we will be spending 2 days in MK with our dd2 and ds4 looking for ideas on comfy, "waterproof" shoes that will be ok when getting on rides/ water rides

we never worn crocs but they look like they would serve the purpose.

BTW we will be renting a double stroller for when their little legs get tired

Thanks!!

For my little guy I wouldn't have used Crocs with him that young. But we had him in very minimal shoes, so the thicker Crocs would have tripped him, literally, most likely. I remember having him in my Keens-style sandals, with a thinnish sole but would stay on.

When DD was little, she wore what is now the Merrell Hydro/ Hydro Monarch for kids (different style when she was little, but same concept). Those shoes were great in the parks. We put Body Glide on her feet in the mornings to prevent any blisters (she has been going to WDW and DLR from age 2 to now 10 and never had a blister). We did the parks from pretty much open to close and never had an issue with those shoes.

We have bought Nike Sunray Protect for our boys 2 and 6 years old. We will be there this august. They love them and say they are very comfy. Can be worn in water parks and pools too.

We swear by the Keen Newport closed-toe water shoes for toddlers/kids. Can get soaking wet in rain or in the pool/beach, and offer full rubber closure to protect little toes. Also super comfy and provide support.

My kids had those nike sandals when the were little; they had an elastic-type strap around the back and no buckles, and they were great. We all wear Keen sandals now. I'm not sure what a 4/2 can ride that they will get wet on, although there is the water play area near Dumbo.

thanks good point!... I forgot about that.. and I do remember the water play area.... hmmm may not need those after all...

My boys wear Keens- perfect sandals- very secure on the feet- covers the toes- can easily get wet and dry quickly

another vote for Keens... the newports rule, my 8 year old lives in them in the summer. if you look on amazon you can often get last year's colors at a discount.

DS wears pedipeds, they're waterproof, vented with a closed toe and a velcro strap - they are similar to Keens or Merrells. These things take a beating!

My kids wear Keen sandals also. They wear them in Disney as well as all summer long at home. They are great for walking, hiking, boating. Great shoes!

They were pretty much all she wore- so she had them on in the water play areas (where she got soaked), water rides, rain etc. She never had an issue with them that I can remember. If you are only going to MK- water rides may not be an issue. The 2 year old likely isn't tall enough for Splash mountain. The 4 year old may or may not be willing to ride it if he is tall enough. DD took one look at that drop as we were walking up to it and backed out the first couple of trips where she was tall enough. Other than that, you might get some wet feet if you happen to get a wet boat on POTC (I can only recall getting wet at all on that ride once or twice and I've ridden it dozens of times)- but there really aren't any other water rides. There is a water play area by Dumbo.

I always got my DD Keen sandals. They are pricey but she never had a problem. Waterproof, supportive and they won't fall off. Well worth every dime, so she could have the time of her life! pixiedust:

At that age, DD wore Teva Psyclones. They're lightweight, comfy, waterproof and covered the tops of her feet so I didn't have to worry about them getting sunburned.

My boys LOVE crocs. They wear them with thin low cut socks to keep their feet from getting too sweaty. My 6 year old wore them last time and never complained of his feet hurting. I love how easy they are to clean.

My son fights me if I try to get him to wear anything but Crocs. So they must be pretty comfortable to him!

Have you looked into Natives? They are the same material as crocs but not the clog style, they're more the style of a sneaker if that makes sense. We just got a pair for my kids to use at daycare for sprinkler day so I can't really give first hand experience yet on comfort but I've read a lot of people who love them.
