I have been reading these threads religiously...and have not seen any mention regarding the comfort of the beds on the Wonder. Since DH threw his back out on a concrete slab we had to sleep on while in Mexico...we now take along an aerobed in its own suitcase when we travel....just in case!! Sometimes we need it...sometimes not. Has anyone with back problems had any problems with DCL mattresses? (Frankly..I'd rather not have the extra suitcase this time) Thanks for everyone's help.

It sounds like you need a more specific answer than I can provide but, IMHO, the beds are wonderful - I have slept in a lot of hotels and soemtimes - wow, bad....but I found the bed firm but not too firm....
My children slept on the bunks and I thought they too looked very comfortable - far better than I expected for something which comes out of the ceiling.

I have been lurking here for 18 months and there have been a few threads about the mattresses (and pillows) which relieved my worries. (I sometimes bring pillows but left them in the car and that was fine - the pillows, too are great.)

I wouldn't dare consider my answer specific for your DH back, though

All this said, perhaps it is the glow of the place that lulls you to sleep - I was in heaven!

Well, I was in 6578 (got back yesterday), and ours was two twin beds pushed together and locked somehow. I found it to be a bit soft, and found myself constantly rolling towards the edge. Not sure how an aerobed would resolve any of that, but figured I'd post it anyway.

Thanks..
As long as most find them comfortable, we will probably be OK. I did manage to find some older threads regarding this subject (yea!! the search works again!!)
Hotel travel is quite a gamble anymore...if you know what I mean!!! Thanks again.

I have three children so we used the beds as twins - perhaps that altered my experience (no rolling here but I do HATE that)....I always seem to read that the beds are OK when put together...
Good luck and give us your full assessment when you return!

I found the beds amazingly comfortable and the pillows were like sleeping on clouds! I want one of those ....

I have a bad back and am usually uncomfortable when on trips. I had no problems on the Wonder.

In fact, I think I slept better than I do at home (don't know if that was the bed or the Bahama Mamas).

oooooh !!
Bahama Mamas sound like the answer!!! Maybe I'll pretend I have a bad back!!

On cruise number one I slept like a baby, and I have a very bad neck/back from a serious car accident years ago, I asked the stateroom host for extra pillows and it was great.
Cruise number two the bed was comfortable enough but seemed to seperate, I kept falling into the "ditch" between them, last night was particularly uncomfortable but I think it was a fluke. Cruise number three was like sleeping on a cloud again! I can't wait for number four! I am a very picky person because of my lingering pain, DH has spent a fortune on beds, mattress pads etc, and I can honestly say that except for number two I have have never slept better than on that ship. I keep telling my husband we just need to move onto it permanently!

I vote for permanent relocation AND an endless supply of Bahama Mamas!!!
I think we'll leave the "take-along" home and drink more as necessary.
Seriously...thanks for all the input.
