After reading another thread here, I think the best thing to do for our family of four would be to get a room at the comfort suites so we would have full access to Atlantis. Will you ever see the room if check in is at 3 oclock. For those who have gone to Atlantis, what is the most reliable transportation back/forth. I have read a few threads here with bad stoies about some of them. Anything else I forgot to ask please say. thanks (excuse the absent question marks....key is broken)

even though check in is at 3, you still go straight to the comfort inn from the ship to check in. While you won't get a room, you will get the wrist bands that you'll need to get into the pools at atlantis...then you walk through the comfort inn to the back door and go out there, to walk across the street to the atlantis....

since we checked out at about 2 pm, no we never saw a room.....but then again, given the quality of the comfort inn, i wouldn't have wanted a room....perhaps it's been upgraded, but it looked pretty seedy to me....

i can't remember how much the taxi was....it was a per person fee.....just before we left the ship i asked one of the crew how much it should be....and that's exactly what it was...
we just went with the first driver who flagged us down at the entrance to the dock....we walked over with him to his car which turned out to be a limo....but the price was just the regular per person taxi price, plus the fee to cross the bridge to paradise island.....

to get back to the ship i think there was a taxi van waiting right outside that we took back to the ship....

it wasn't a problem....

We were there last year and got our room as we checked in. Both DW and I commented on how nice the room was. We even thought that if we decided to come to Nassau seperate from a cruise, we would stay there . . .

It was nice to have a place to dump your stuff while going over to the Atlantis. Also, hold on to the room-charge card they give you at check-in. You need to show it to get your wristbands for the waterpark. Also, you can charge food to your room. Much more convienent than carrying cash around.

I have checked in at 9am, gone over to Atlantis for the day with out going to the room, and then headed to Comfort Suites to shower and change clothes before heading back to the ship. I thought the room was nice, I would stay there for a week on vacation .... it includes free breakfast.
I also enjoyed charging drinks at Altantis to my room key and just paying the bill at check out.

Can one get access to the Atlantis water park, without checking in at the Atlantis, or at the Comfort Suites?

no. but i wouldn't call it a water park. It's a bunch of slides and swimming pools in the center of a huge hotel (the atlantis, which is made up of numerous different buildings)....it's not at all what i think of when i think waterpark...it's what i think of when i think big resort (which is what the atlantis is)...
