comfort station info

we will be at the fort oct 3-10 camping in tents. i have stayed in the cabins but never tents.

how far are the comfort stations from the sites?. we were going to take our golf cart but figured hauling it would be a pain.

will prob take bikes though.

Mistee, distance to a comfort station is somewhat within your control.

You didn't say what type of loop you requested but if it's a Partial (most commonly used by tenters) you will be placed in the 1500 or 2000 loop. The 2000 loops has 2 comfort stations just for that loop. 1500 is a smaller loop and shares a comfort station with 1600 (and 1600 shares a second comfort station with 1700).

About 3-4 days before your arrival at the Fort, fax a letter to the Fort (search for the thread with the fax # and template) and ask in it to be placed in a site near a comfort station if that is what you want. The Fort Cast Members who assign sites before arrival do try to honor requests (but it's not guarenteed). This kind of request is common and should be able to be done.

There are sites literally within a few feet of the comfort station. I don't think any site in the Fort is outside of a 2-3 minute walk to a comfort station at the max. I doubt you would need a golf cart to get to a comfort station but you can use it for looping or getting to the external bus/transportation hubs in the Fort.

It will work out if you send in your request as outlined above.

how far are the comfort stations from the sites?..... Each loop has comfort stations,,how far just depends on where your site is.

will prob take bikes though,,,,,Bikes are good,,buggy is much better,(my opinion) makes it easier to go fish'n.
