Comfort of flip flops in the World?

Teva Mush and Crocs flip flops are the best! The Teva's have arch support which makes such a huge difference.
I'm surprised to see so many like the Old Navy flip flops. Those things are the most uncomfortable flip flops i've ever wore. They are definitely made different this year, the straps and soles just have a totally different feel than the ones they used to sell.

A friend of mine wears anything and everything on her feet and has no problems--flip-flops, sandals, sneakers--no heels in the parks, though! That's about the only exception.

Then there's me. *sigh* New Balance or Ryka walking shoes. Complete stability required for the left foot. *sigh*

I do take a pair of walking sandals and a pair of Birks for evenings/days off from the parks.

I've gone through a park for an entire day in Old Navy flipflop, and I never had a problem. Minor soreness at the end of the day, but that's it. And the soreness was gone by the next day.

I've heard a lot of good things about the Croc flipflops though. You shouldn't have any problems.

I loooove my J.Crew flip flops and wear them everywhere. They're really comfortable. But my husband gets so annoyed when I wear them...he wants our whole family in sneakers for maximum comfort. (God forbid I stumble while wearing flip flops...he gives me a lecture on "those dangerous shoes"!) :rotfl:

Just make sure they're broken in so you don't have surprise blisters.

Can I ask what style J.Crew flops you wear? I have several pair of the wedge classic, and wear them constantly at home. If if wear them to say, the zoo, I get awful blisters on the top of my feet! Do you wear the critter flip flops? :confused3

I wear flip flops all the time when we go to WDW but mine arent any name brands but I only wear ones Ive broken in well and are comfortable to me..

I wear my Sketcher flip flops a lot at the parks. I have 2 different kinds. That being said, I also bring a pair of tennies with me on vacation. I find my feet do better if I rotate my footwear a little. I'll wear the flip flops during the day, and change into the shoes or a different pair of flip flops when we go back to the room to get ready for dinner.

(not to hijack-but growing up we always called them thongs. Hee hee, can you imagine callling them that now!!!)

I wore my Nike flips most of my trip last October, and did great. I tried wearing other shoes, including Crocs Caymans and Easy Spirit sneaker "mules," but found that the flips were the best. The Nike ones are great; they're about $20 and are super comfortable (the upper part is made of neoprene, like a scuba suit, and is very comfortable between your toes). These are my shoes of choice during the summer for around the house.

My husband and I both wore our Crocs Athens flip flops all 8 days in the parks. They were very comfy. DH was born with a club foot and never wore flip flops before, now he swears by Crocs Athens even got a pair for around the house. We love them and we are not tiny people.

I wear flip flops every day in the parks, except for the days I wear my Mary Jane Crocs. My fave are Havaiianas, with Old Navy's coming second. I was miserable with Target's flip flops. I wear flip flops year round in California though. If you're not used to sandals, you might not have the same experience.

I have only worn flip flops in the parks all day. I tried to be cute and wear my Mickey Crocs and ended up with a blister. I LOVE the Teva Elixer flip flops. For those that have concerns about support, these are great. There is excellent arch support. At the end of a park day, my feet never hurt. I own two pair and wear them all the time.

Sounds like you have small feet. I wear a size 6 and these have a little room in them, but they are very comfy. Good luck with your search!!

Thanks for the link. I buy from shoebuy all the time. These look like great flips but they don't come in a 5. I come across that problem a lot!

I saw the title to this post and was going to say the only flip flop I would recommend is Croc's...then I opened and read your full post, so maybe we think alike!

They are my favorite show for WDW, especially in warm weather. I just wore them in April after a long cold winter up here of not having them on my feet. No blisters or problems...maybe a tiny bit of tenderness between big toe and next to due to the post or whatever that thing is.

Otherwise, I give them a huge thumbs up! I pack them with great confidence that they will not fail me!

I wore my Crocs athens for several days with no blisters or sore feet. I wore my Croc scutes (the ones without the back strap) and got a red place on the top of my foot, so I went back to the flip flops.

I checked shoebuy on Teva Mush & they had one on sale in my size so I ordered it. Total $19.47 (entered a 15%coupon). Can't wait to see how these feel compared to my Crocs Capris. Hope they come before leaving on Saturday.

I bought a pair of Under Armor flip flops just before our October trip and wore them the whole time. Very comfy! They're still my favorite ones.

I just bought my second pair of Payless Airwalks, which look like the Crocs but only cost $20. Wore my first pair to Disney World last year and LOVED them. No blisters, and I found they were wonderful for keeping your feet from getting tired standing in lines. Other shoes are also great for walking, but gotta love these especially for all the standing around you do.

Thanks for your input. I think it will give me good support, I just think maybe my foot is between their Women's 4 and Women's 5. I feel like I have to work to keep my feet in the 5's as my feet is too skinny in that size if that makes sense. Nice snug feel in the 4's but my toe is right on the edge.

The only flip flops I can wear all day in the parks sans blisters are the cheap Old Navy kind believe it or not. All other kinds I"ve had problems with. Crazy huh.

Me too! They have a little bit of arch support and the straps are comfy ribbon, not hard plastic or leather. They are much cooler than hot cotton socks and tennis shoes.

CamAnd - I love my Croc Capris and wear them everytime I go to a park. I know I posted this before, but in June 2007 we did 6 parks in 6 days, from park opening to close. I wore my Capris for 5 days and my feet never hurt. The one day I wore sneakers, my feet were sore by the afternoon. I wear them every chance I get and wish I could wear them to work!

I wish my ON had these kind of flips! lol The ones i bought a few weeks ago (2/ $5) are just plain old flat flips with hard but flexible straps. I've never seen any with arch support or ribbon straps, sounds comfy.
