In your opinion - Using the Motion Picture based system - What Rating would you apply to the Comedy Club???

Thanks!

I assume this means the Comedy Warehouse.

Depending on the audience, anywhere from G to PG-13.

There are two comedy clubs on Pleasure Island.

One features onstage improv (Comedy Warehouse) and the other interactive cabaret (Adventurers Club).

Both can be rated anywhere between G and PG-13 on any given night.

I am trying to determine if the material is ok for two young ladies ages 13 & 16...

Thanks!

Just as a reality check...it is doubtful that kids of that age haven't heard everything by now anyway but the Comedy Club is pretty tame. Since it is Improv things can occasionally get a little suggestive just as it is in the adventurers club but nothing that hasn't been seen and heard on non-cable TV.

It is NOT blue material...it is family oriented. This is Walt Disney World. I wouldn't hesitate to have brought my children to any of the shows.

I think you would be OK. I've been there a few times, I don't think it ever went over PG-13. Never heard strong profanity (i.e. "F" word), most of it is more inuendo. I've only been to early shows, I don't know if it gets more "adult" later in the evening but I can't imagine Disney would allow it to go too far.

The actors use more clever innuendo than overt humor, as they know it is Disney. What you can't control is what a drunken audience member may yell our, or even the kind of X rated story they may decide to tell if they volunteer. I know that there has been stuff yelled out and stories told (drunken sorority girl and sex with multiple partners) that I would not have wanted my children to hear until they were older.

Heck, I didn't want to hear the drunken sorority girl, but by the time the CM's realized where the story was going, there was no stopping her. As long as you remember it is a bar with adults who may have been drinking quite a bit and saying things that drunken adults sometimes say, you will have a pretty good idea of the kind of stuff that can happen at times at the Comeddy Club(smile).

I believe these shows are usually fine for teenagers. Every once in awhile you get something like Figaro has described.

We have taken our teenagers to the Comedy Warehouse and the Adventurer's Club. Attend the early shows and it will be fine, if something comes from the audience that is too suggestive it isn't used by the actors. We never stayed late enough for the midnight fireworks, usually left around 10. JMHO pre-teens should not be there at all. Once the kids are 18 they don't need a parent. Under 18 they must stay with a parent at all times.

we went to the earliest shows of the evening with (advanced) dd7 and ds15. The early shows were perfectly appropriate for our daughter, and she loved it. We stashed her at the kids klub a few nights later and went back to the later shows with DS. It was no where near as risque as what he sees in video and on tv.

I had the same question, but forgot to ask it before we left for our trip in the beginning of Sept. Asked the CMs at Comedy Warehouse and the Adventurer's Club and they both laughed at me and said, "This is Disney! Don't worry, there's nothing worse than PG material." On this advice, we brought our 13 and 11 (almost 12)-year old dds to the shows. Both thought the Comedy Warehouse was extremely funny, but the Adventurer's Club was a little over the 11-year old's head. As many have said, most of the raunchy humor is innuendo, but if I had to do it again, I proabably would not have brought our younger daughter. We really enjoy being together on vacation, so I would have had a very difficult time leaving her while we went out. I have to say, 11/12 is an awkward age at Disney, because they're really too old for the clubhouses and in-room sitting and too young for staying alone in the hotel. We did have a great time that night, though!
