Come One, Come All. An Engagement & rain...lots of rainWith photos and videos

Thanks everyone. I am scanning pics of my mom and family now. It has been rough. I miss her. We had to start cleaning out her home last night. That was hard...very hard. It is only going to get harder. I hope to have it done by the end of the week. Family is coming over Saturday to help and remember. I am thankful I had my Mom as long as I did. When you have a Mom who gave birth to you at the age of 40, you have to be. My DH lost his Mom at the age of 50, so was lucky. My condolence to everyone else who lost a loved also.
Michele thanks for reporting, I so looking forward to more magic.

I also want to extend my condolences to all three of you having lost members of your families so recently :sad1: I think it's great to have "extended" family here on the Dis to help thru these hard times and being able to receive a big hug from all of us (my DH died in the hotel room before we were to start our first Disney vacation back in 1994 and I had tons of supportive strangers at the hospital being 3,000 miles from home so I can sympathize and understand how important it is to have support).

Michelle - we are waiting patiently to hear all about your trip and in the meantime, here's a hug to everyone!

OK, so I am going to post what I can now...Throughout my photos you will see the kids throwinf the peace sign or what some call the duece constantly into my pics. I would get annoyed that they were ruining my vacation photos but by the end we were all doing it--even Kayla--..We saw SO many other vacationers and even CM's doing it...As you'll see in my later pics of a japanese CM posing for me ;)
Looking good so far!

Congrats, sounds like ya'll had a wonderful time. Keep it coming. Pics look great. Glad Fay went away and ya'll had some good weather. Now it's my turn to dodge Gustav. But I'm afraid we might not be so lucky. Right now it looks like we might be on the bad side or direct hit. :scared: I'll try to get on over the next few days depending on what happens, if not I'll catch up when we're back up and running over here.

There is always hope when you are in Disney :) We were in the direct path of it becoming a hurricane, but it surprised everyone with how it worked out--just dumping tons of rain and lasting so long. I will pray for you that you don't have a rough week in it.. Try to remain positive and remember ---you could be stuck at home lol ;)

Yeah, wish I could fast forward to our Nov trip. But then I'd probably worry if I had a home when I got back. We live close to the Gulf (about 50 miles southwest of New Orleans) Some pixie dust and CSR would be so nice right now. Evacuations start tomorrow at 2:00. At this time we're staying....supplies and boat ready. Might be crazy, but hard to get some cajuns off the bayou (esp my mom and dad).
Keep going. I'm enjoying your vacation with you and it will help me escape every now and then until we loss power or internet signals. Hope you have a good Labor Day weekend.

Good luck with everything!

do you know what MissMichelle? In your photo on the safari ride, there is a woman wearing a rain poncho behind the girls and I think this is fellow Diser ArmyWife 3-4. Her travel report is posted under "where's My Free Cake, No Lines in August, and Magical Dremas come true". I am almost sure this is her! She had a great story......I won't spoil it but have a read.......

Thoughts and prayers are with you and your family and everyone else in the path of this devastating storm! Please update when you can.

Sorry to missMichelle for hijacking your thread. I'm from Thibodaux , LA which is about a 30 minute drive from us. I hope bayoumama2 got out in time.

We left yesterday morning and are currently in Tennessee. I hope all my fellow DISers from the Gulf Coast are in a safe place tonight.

Hey everyone I'm from Gonzales, La. about 60 miles from N.O. and we had to fly out Fri. because of the storm and we are going to POP tomorrow!
If we would not have got out Fri. then we would have had to stay through the storm and our REv were for The 3rd of Sept. So we are at my Aunt's house in Tampa. And will be at WDW tomorrow!!

I pray for all my family and friends left in La.
And ask all our Dis friends to pray also!!

LOVE the face paintings! I've ALWAYS wanted to do this! :goodvibes

Hey Michelle, hope everything is okay. Haven't heard much from you since your return.

Sorry everyone, back to life---things have been busy and school started back today. Trying to get back on track with work and bills and life since I got home last week.
I have been thinking of everyone who is in the path of these nasty hurricanes. It seems we are going to be dealing with them for a bit now and I just hope all my DIS friends are safe and are out of harms way.
Please keep us updated--anyone in the paths of these storms.

Ok let's see if I can get some posted ;)

So I am reposting my last installment because I added photos
I will be working on Day 2 Part 2 hopefully now ;)

After that we headed to Its Tough To Be a Bug and once we got the 3-D glasses and were waiting to be let inside the theatre Trae started saying he felt sick and then started crying. He had a really bad stomach ache and TC got out of line with him and took him to the bathroom. We all enjoyed the show and I didn't warn anyone about the bugs that crawl under your seat at the end. Kayla did amazing UNTIL then. She freaked out and thought bugs were really on her..I carried her out crying and it took her a few to calm down. I felt so bad.

you can tell Trae doesn't feel well here

Once we met back up with TC and Trae and Trae said he felt better I suggested we go over to Dinosaur and measure Kayla...She was just under to 40" mark at home...When we got over a CM came over and helped us..Kayla made it!!! So now we get to see how she'll react to things the rest of the week...Can you say DARE DEVIL?? She LOVED Dinosaur and it made way to her being able to do Splash and Big Thunder the following day. The ride was a walk-on :)

We were all getting hungry at this point so we made our way back to CSR to have lunch @ Pepper Market and rest.

So after lunch we tried to rest and I had posted on here a bit about what was going on down there. The kids tried to relax and Melissa and Enrique went to nap for a bit. Once the kids were dressed we snapped a few cute pics of them around the room:

And then we were on our way to DHS

But first the boys needed matching shirts

And so did Me and Melissa

Sadly we only got a few pics for the night since it was Tuesday--the first real day of Tropical Storm Fay

But we did ToT (just Me, Enrique, Ash and Jalen) and the Great Movie Ride and the kids and the guys went on Star Tours while Melissa and I walked Kayla around to nap in her stroller (in the pouring rain--but with a poncho over her) and wait for them.
Dinner was @ Sci-Fi which the kids thought was pretty cool.
When we went to check in (35 minutes erly due to the bad rain) they offered us the car with the long table in the back..they said if we waited for an "authentic" table it would be AFTER our ADR time...Didn't matter to us--we were hungry and wet so we didn't mind sitting at that table...The set up ended up being a godsend.
I got the shrimp pasta which they changed from my last visit there...the feta is extremely overwhelming, just a warning--it made the restaurant smell like puke. TC got the steak and he enjoyed it. Ash got the ribs but for some reason the first few nights of the trip she had trouble eating dinner...She'd feel really sick and just pick at it. I felt so bad since that girl LOVES to eat. Especially at Disney as an adult ;0)

After dinner we pretty much just headed out (the wind and rain was really strong and almost hurt to walk in) and went back to CSR for early bed. The girls had breakfast in the castle the next day! We were so excited as I have NEVER eaten in the castle.

Side note:
Has anyone noticed my ticker(s)??? Plus a wedding date is pretty much set---for 8/22/09, TC's cousin has a great lake house down in Cape Cod and 4 acres of land to have a nice wedding :)--the day before we leave on our August Deluxe Dining Trip----Kids on our honeymoon...:) So the next year should be interesting.

another great update when are you going in january, if my math is correct, if so, sounds like a good time, no crowds.

wedding site sounds good great place to honeymoon, actualy the only place to honeymoon.

We are going January 19-23...just a Monday through Friday trip, but that is perfect for us ;) My best friend is 90% sure she wants to go along with us. Her mom passed away a few years ago and there is nothing we wish more then to have her with us--but since we can't we'll definitely take a trip to honor her. She liked Disney and all things fun.

I actually told TC I was going to cancel Disney for next year since I feel I make us go too often and maybe the kids would like a change...He told me NO. LOL..He said Trae would rather swim, so he'll spend more time at the resort swimming with him while Ash and myself hit the parks. That would be ideal since I feel so bad when they wait off for us :(
