Come One, Come All. An Engagement & rain...lots of rainWith photos and videos

Michelle, this is the first time I've had to sit and catch up on your report (my dad passed away Friday afternoon). I am so glad you are having a good trip, but I am sorry the weather has been so bad. I hope by now you've gotten some sunshine. I am so happy that you are still loving CSR--it makes me happy. We'll be there in 8 days.

I wish there was something I could do or say to let you know just how sorry I am to hear of the loss of your father. Please know I am sending a big hug and warm thoughts to you and your family. I know this must be such a tough time. Hopefully getting away to CSR in a few days will help a little. Just being there can take the sting away from many situations.

I will be reporting some today...Things were busy at the end , especially finally having SUNSHINE!!! We got some decent tans the last 2 days there. Wish it had been more but there is always next year (haha).

Hi Michele, Sorry I have not been here. My Mom has been in the hospital since Aug. 6th and she passed away Friday night. I need some happiness today so I came on the Dis. I forgot you were reporting live.
Congrats on the new engagement ring, and the real proposal….how special. I hope the weather cleared up for you, and it was not as hot as last year. Looks like you flew right over me when you were leaving. Have a safe trip home.

I loved Cass's live reports and have not read one in a long time. If someone could post a link I would so much be thankful for some happy Disney reading to ease my heart ache.

 I am so sorry Pam! I can't believe all the loss on the board lately. Luckily we all have the board to keep each other positive and take away some of the pain.

I didn't really get to do much of a LIVE report..sounded like a better idea before I went, but things get in the way..and being on an air card I wanted to watch my bandwidth..ontop of that photos loaded sloooooowwww..

So sit back and relax...between tonight and tomorrow I should get a good portion of my report out before I go to work tomorrow night (ICK!)

Can't wait!! Hope you had a great trip!!

It was AMAZING as always---I got some pics of CSR but not as many as I wanted since the cameras had to stay covered with all the rain...Considering that we got 2500 photos combined for the 9 days isn't too shabby!

Hey Michelle - I know I've been MIA for the last several weeks but now I'm back! Congratulations on your engagement! Your ring is beautiful! Your man did good! Thanks again for sharing ! Keep it coming!!!!

Thank you, Michelle. It was a rough week from Wednesday on. Each day gets a little better, but I miss my dad a lot. I am sure some time away is just what hubby and I need; our oldest is at the airport waiting for his flight to New York (which is already delayed three hours) and Boston where he is going to Yankee Stadium and then to Boston to Fenway Park...it will do him some good.

I am anxiously awaiting the rest of your report, and I'm glad you got some sunshine the last couple of days of your trip.

I am trying to get my photos uploaded into shutterfly from the program (Picasa) I have them stored in but it is saying the files have errors! EEEEEEEEK..I hope I can get them onto some site to post ...I am currently writing my report in a word pad doc then when I get the pics up and going I can add them and post---hopefully before I head to work at 12.

I'm so sorry to hear that both of you have lost loved ones this past Friday. Having just lost my beloved Grandmother less than 2 weeks ago, I know how much just a big ole one of these :grouphug: (even if it's on the screen) can help.

I pray that God will bring you both peace and comfort.

I also want to extend my condolences to all three of you having lost members of your families so recently :sad1: I think it's great to have "extended" family here on the Dis to help thru these hard times and being able to receive a big hug from all of us (my DH died in the hotel room before we were to start our first Disney vacation back in 1994 and I had tons of supportive strangers at the hospital being 3,000 miles from home so I can sympathize and understand how important it is to have support).

Michelle - we are waiting patiently to hear all about your trip and in the meantime, here's a hug to everyone!

Just wanted to let you know that I've been trying to upload pics to shutterfly for 5 days straight! I've tried each of their 3 different uploading techniques and it's not working at all! I've become so aggrevated! The only reason I'm sticking with it is b/c I have 200 free prints...and I want them!

So I've been uploading pics onto photobucket in the meantime. But I still need to get them onto shutterfly! I hope you have better luck then I've been having!

It stinks because my pics arent uploaded to my actual computer, they are on a program called Picasa and I need to then transfer them online to a participating site...so now I am working on placing them on CVS.com....it is taking HOURS---I am at 371 of 1500 in 2 hours :(..it'll never be done before I go to work!

OK, so I am going to post what I can now...Throughout my photos you will see the kids throwinf the peace sign or what some call the duece constantly into my pics. I would get annoyed that they were ruining my vacation photos but by the end we were all doing it--even Kayla--..We saw SO many other vacationers and even CM's doing it...As you'll see in my later pics of a japanese CM posing for me ;)

After dinner we headed over to Figment and the kids got a kick out of that. I know it is a cheesy kids ride but I still make it a point to go in there once every trip. I think its cute :)
I knew we didn't plan to stay until Illuminations but we figured we could get Nemo and Crush done, and we did with no wait at all---the kids cracked up during Crush and kept saying "DUDE" of course until we made them stop.
*stopping in the Nemo que*

After the ride and show we decided to go let the kids swim before Fay made her way to Florida and really dampened things

and then hit the bed after just a quick 30 minute swim. I conked out and it felt good since I had been up since 3 am.

We set the alarm (my wake up call wasn't working when I tried to set it up ) for 6 and literally jumped out of bed for our first REAL day. Today we had AK planned and it was windy but not really raining yet...I must mention it was pretty dark out still because due to the storm they opened all the parks an hour early so we were at the bus stop by 7:20.

The kids were pretty excited to get to the park and Trae actually acgreed to do EE--my child HATES rides...so odd but he just doesnt find them at al exciting,. Hard to take a kid to Disney when he doesnt ever want to ride anything.

We made it into AK right around opening and quickly headed to EE. TC stayed off with Kayla while the rest of us rode. Melissa and Trae both came off looking queasy! They didn't enjoy it. The rest of us did and jumped back in line while TC, Kayla, ~M~ and Trae headed ro Dinoland to play.
After a second ride on EE we were satisfied and went to go find them. Jalen and Ashley decided while they were waiting for Kayla and Trae to get off a ride to go on Primevil Whirl. I felt so bad for them. We watched them get whipped around and they looked like they wanted OFF. When they did make it off they said it was a painful ride and wouldnt do it again. HAHA famous last words LOL

At this point I wanted to go see if there was a wait for the safari---we headed that way and stopped to get me a Chai freeze that I heard about here---OMG, OMG...I fell in love. It was one of my favorites of the trip. It is at the tea stand over by Kali. I got it again later in the trip.

Once to the Safari we walked right on and had a pretty good ride. Many animals were out

After the safari we decided to go to get our faces painted...Trae decided it was something he didn't want to spend $$ on, but the other kids did and so did ~M~ and myself.

there are pics of all the finished faces but I am going to stop here since my computer keeps freezing while copying and pasting pics...don't want to lose anything...

I am HATING shutterfly right now...I am trying to post the pics I DID get to upload there and when I do I go to cop and it freezes ... So I only got a few---I'll fill them in later...this is what I have gotten in so far:

After that we headed to Its Tough To Be a Bug and once we got the 3-D glasses and were waiting to be let inside the theatre Trae started saying he felt sick and then started crying. He had a really bad stomach ache and TC got out of line with him and took him to the bathroom. We all enjoyed the show and I didn't warn anyone about the bugs that crawl under your seat at the end. Kayla did amazing UNTIL then. She freaked out and thought bugs were really on her..I carried her out crying and it took her a few to calm down. I felt so bad.

Once we met back up with TC and Trae and Trae said he felt better I suggested we go over to Dinosaur and measure Kayla...She was just under to 40" mark at home...When we got over a CM came over and helped us..Kayla made it!!! So now we get to see how she'll react to things the rest of the week...Can you say DARE DEVIL?? She LOVED Dinosaur and it made way to her being able to do Splash and Big Thunder the following day.

We were all getting hungry at this point so we made our way back to CSR to have lunch @ Pepper Market and rest.

I need to get ready for work...I dont know what I am working tomorrow (another manager texted me with just todays schedule) so I will try and get more done either tonight or tomorrow ;)

I am so sorry to hear something so tragic happened to you. I agree the DIS has a great support system, and having Disney to keep everyones mind in a happier place helps.

I am going to try and get more up later---If I had all ~M~'s pics too Id be able to post a ton (Id use the other computer ---some reason mine isn't happy with shutterfly!)

Thanks for reading :)
