Come On January Discounts

I was wondering the same thing. I am also wishing for a discount. :cheer2:

Every day I check Mousesavers. Sometimes several times a day. Still nothing.

If nothing comes out by Monday, I'm pretty much giving up. The last discounts came out on 11/3, so I figure one month, and then Monday is it. Hey I'm still going no matter what, and I do have AAA on the room only and a package for the first part of my stay, so all is not lost!!

Just subscribing to this thread, haved a friend going in January. Would love to let her know about any discount that comes out :)

If it helps anyone I got the Dolphin for Jan 28 - Feb 5 for $195 per night. I would like to see it go down to the $139 they are offering for Christmas but I'm pretty happy if they don't.

Well I've given up waiting for a January room only code.
We are booked at Disney the first week of January but leave for Florida Dec 16 for a two week beach holiday first. Therefore, not a lot of days left to wait for a code soooooo...............
I am off to CAA to buy a membership tomorrow morning since I have a CAA room rate (booked late June) at Disney.

With my luck, room only codes will come out tomorrow afternoon (right after I buy my membership)!!!!

Not complaining at all and very happy with CAA 20% room discount, just can't wait to get out of the SNOW :cold: :cold: .

Disney is currently running specials on 7 day/6 night packages for January thru Mid February (with some black out dates) if you book by Dec 18th.

Perhaps once this promotion has run it's course, they will list some new specials starting on the 19th.

OOhhh I like this thought I hope it pans out.

I've since learned that the "current" offer I mentioned earlier is not only on 6/7 vacations. It's for ANY package length of 3 days or more.

While I'm not wanting to lock my self into a package deal at this time (trying plan a Christmas suprise, so I'd like some flexability in case something needs to change on 12/26), they seem to be pretty good.

The first part of the package discount is in the tickets. They are charging the base ticket price, and throwing in Park Hopper and Water Park Fun in for free. The free upgrade to Park Hopper alone is a $75-$105 saving (family of three that I'm pricing out) over Disney's Online advertized price.

The second half seems to be a discount on the rooms. When I run the math, I'm finding that on a 5 night stay at a Value resort, they are charging about $65-66 per night (I'm not sure EXACTLY what they are doing, because they have the package with tax priced the same for Pop Century as the All-Star, but Pop Century is subject to only an 11.5% tax, while All-Star is subject to a 13% tax, so either something is screwed up in thier package calculations or they are giving a better discount for All-Star than Pop Century to make the prices match).

Per mousesavers.com, AAA/CAA gives a 20% discount, which, if true, means current AAA/CAA room rate is about $61. That's only a $5 savings compared to Disney's current discount. But then you have to get the tickets, and if you don't use the package AND want Hopper passes, you're going to be spending that $75-105 (even more for a family of four) by the time you buy tickets with what, a few dollar's discount at best?

Wow, I just can't believe no room-only rates were released for January (value season!). Guess they had enough reservations at regular price to hold them :confused3

I think Disney is trying to get more people to commit to their package deals. While I don't want to book a Jan/Feb Package deal at this time (I want more flexibility rather than being locked in with $50-$100 change fees). But if you're wanting Hopper passes, there just isn't anything better than the current promotion.

Seems like my research has shown the place to get the best room-only discounts is through AAA/CAA. But Disney's current promotion is pretty much matching the room discount. And since you've got to buy tickets, you can save a few dollars (like $10-12) buying tickets through AAA/CAA. But you have to pay for Hopper add-on. With Disney's current promotion, you get the Hopper as a free upgrade making for savings in the neighborhood of $100.

So while I don't want to, I just don't see a cheaper way to book a Disney vacation for Jan/Feb than the current promotion that ends 12/18.

I'm getting the reservations as a Christmas surprise, so even if I "pick the wrong dates" and DW wants to change them after Christmas... the $100 discount still keeps me ahead paying a $50 change fee.

I wonder if after Dec 18th, Disney will run a different promotion?
Maybe a room only discount will come out after Xmas.

I was wondering too if tomorrow would bring something new. It is value season so there is a tiny bit of hope. For now we are at the Dolphin with a pretty good discount but more than they are charging for Christmas week so....... I am still hopeful!

I'd just like to know how you get on the mailing list for all the private codes? I thought I saw a reply in a thread once that asked the same question, but can't seem to find it.

Is it based on frequency of visits? What you spend with Disney, i.e. at the Parks, Hotel, Downtown Disney, shopping at Disney Online, suscribing to all the Disney magazines? Or is it just random.

I know when I lived in NC it was nothing for us to drive down and take a 3 day weekend at Disney (off-site or on-site). But now since we live in the Midwest trips aren't as frequent.

From what I've read, it is completely random. Your best bet seems to be in signing up for anything & everything Disney. Things like surveys, disneyshopping.com, requesting the planning DVD, staying onsite...

Anyone who has received a special code can't really tell you how, exactly. They have usually done one or more of the above.

Well it's December 19th and I don't see any new promotions. Looks like they've just extented the old promotion.
