Come along on our Spring Break Photo Trip/Dining Report 2012! Update 9/12 Epcot

Sounds like y'all were having a nice day! I can't wait to see Storybook Circus...it looks so cute!

Cosmic Ray's is our favorite CS place in MK.

Great pictures, from both you and your daughter. Did you find it extremely difficult to shoot in the Haunted Mansion? I don't know if Nikon makes it, but I find my Canon 28/1.8 to be a good focal length for a lot of rides and shows.

Thanks! I'll say after this trip I quickly found that I am not in love with my 50mm:sad1:. It will be going bye-bye soon and I will be replacing it with a 30mm. It was terrible for most rides I tried using it on. Live and learn I guess:goodvibes

The pictures of FL were great. I can't wait until my visit in Sept. to see all the new things.

Splash Mountain is one of my favorites also, loved the line pictures.

After a bite we tried Splash Mountain again, and again I was not loving my 50mm lens. Just not where I want to be with my photography. Here are my attempts of some darker ares with my lens, at least I didn't use a flash!!:lmao:

Moving on we went over to ride the Riverboat. We really have not done this for years so we gave it a whirl...

Next we needed to cool off so it was off to Mickey's PhilharMagic.

Love, love, love this show!

The kids and Hubby headed over to Stitches Great Adventure. I've not done this since it was Alien Encounter back in the day, but DD took an inside photo for me:

I headed over to wait for the the parade. Alone the way I was taking some castle photos and a photopass photographer said no one ever asks to take his photo, so I did:

And the castle, it just makes me breathe easier see it:goodvibes

Up next: DTD and Fultons

Those are all so great! Thank you so much for doing this TR....it is making me so excited to go in just a little while

You got some really nice dark shots of Splash Mountain! I always seem to struggle in Peter Pan. I'm fine getting my pics without a flash on other rides. But, for some reason, Peter Pan gives me trouble! :headache:

I love Mickey's Philharmagic, too! It really is such a great show!

Just looking at those crowds in your pictures is enough to give me a panic attack! :scared1:

Just found your TR and so glad I did! We are planning our first trip for October 2013 and I was debating between POR or Poly, I think your gorgeous pictures have swayed me to POR! Question for you: do you think a family of 6 (2 adults, 3 kids, 3,5,6, and a baby maybe 8 months) would be comfortable at POR AB?

You're worried about the quality of your pictures, and I'm sitting here thinking that I wish I could get those types of pictures!! ;) I don't have the equipment (or the knowledge), though.

I love the details you've captured!!

Isn't the wait for the trip part of the fun!!!! All that excitement knowing it's coming is great!!

My Peter Pan shots were terrible!! Next trip with my new lens will hopefully be better!!!

The crowds:sad2:...next time I want to go in low, off, value, no one else is in the park season!!:lmao:

Welcome along!! Glad you found my TR!! You can fit in AB no problem. New queen beds are wonderful and the kid would love the pull down bed. The worst part will be storage. There really isn't much. With us we were able to keep ourselves organized being a family with teens, so with little ones it may be tough, For the price with a family of 5 you can't beat it!!

Thanks so much! I did get some better shots I will be showing later in the TR...stay tuned!:goodvibes

Really enjoying your trip report. Your pictures are great!

Thanks so much!!

I may have already asked this but what kind of camera do you shoot with? I shoot with a Nikon. Before our trip last May, I got a new lens that could give me all of the shots I needed (close up, far away, zoom, etc) without having to change lenses. I hate having to do that. It's a Tamron 18-200 f/3.5-6.3 (I think). I really like it but I would like to get a lens that has higher apertures. What kind of new lens did you get? I need to start saving for a lens with an f # like 1.8 or something.

The crowds:sad2:...next time I want to go in low, off, value, no one else is in the park season!!:lmao:

We've always done low crowd seasons....it's lovely! :cloud9: Our son will start kindergarten in 2013 so it'll be interesting to see when we can take our trips.

I use a Nikon D90 and on this trip I had a 50mm 1.8 lens...not good enough for dark rides in my eyes. I use a 18-105 for my walk around lens and then change for dark rides. My 18-105 doesn't even come close to dark ride shots for me, even in raw format. I want a 30mm 1.4 for my next trip.

We usually go in Oct or December to WDW but with my DS playing football now, fall is out of the question! I love those younger kids days when I could pull them from school and just go! High school makes it tough.

Thank you for the reassurance.:cool1: I was getting sad listening to everyone who said we couldn't do it. I can't wait for the next installment of your TR!

Nice! I think the 30mm 1.4 will definitely help with your dark ride pics. :thumbsup2 One day I'll like to get a lens with that kind of F stop. Until that day, I'll just make do with what I've got.

I can definitely see where it's harder as your kids get older. I told my DH that I should homeschool our son so that we could still go during the low crowd times.

If you checked out my photos of POR, you will get a clear idea of what the room is like. You would be adding a pack and play is all. Like I said, if you can get past the storage, you'll be okay.

I've made due for years and I've been happy with what I've done through the years. It's a progression to go back and see how my photography has changed over the years. In 2007 I took my first SLR to Disney and was Wowed at my photos at the time, now I look back and think "oh my, such bad photos". It's a fun way to see how things change.

If you home school, you can use WDW as an awesome field trip!!:rotfl2:

Parade time! Afternoon parade was hot but I found a spot close to the castle. "Push" was out talking to the crowds while we were waiting:
