Great pictures, from both you and your daughter. Did you find it extremely difficult to shoot in the Haunted Mansion? I don't know if Nikon makes it, but I find my Canon 28/1.8 to be a good focal length for a lot of rides and shows.
Those are all so great! Thank you so much for doing this TR....it is making me so excited to go in just a little while![]()
You got some really nice dark shots of Splash Mountain! I always seem to struggle in Peter Pan. I'm fine getting my pics without a flash on other rides. But, for some reason, Peter Pan gives me trouble!
I love Mickey's Philharmagic, too!It really is such a great show!
Just looking at those crowds in your pictures is enough to give me a panic attack!![]()
Just found your TR and so glad I did! We are planning our first trip for October 2013 and I was debating between POR or Poly, I think your gorgeous pictures have swayed me to POR! Question for you: do you think a family of 6 (2 adults, 3 kids, 3,5,6, and a baby maybe 8 months) would be comfortable at POR AB?
You're worried about the quality of your pictures, and I'm sitting here thinking that I wish I could get those types of pictures!!I don't have the equipment (or the knowledge), though.
I love the details you've captured!!
Really enjoying your trip report. Your pictures are great!
My Peter Pan shots were terrible!!Next trip with my new lens will hopefully be better!!!
The crowds...next time I want to go in low, off, value, no one else is in the park season!!

I may have already asked this but what kind of camera do you shoot with? I shoot with a Nikon. Before our trip last May, I got a new lens that could give me all of the shots I needed (close up, far away, zoom, etc) without having to change lenses. I hate having to do that. It's a Tamron 18-200 f/3.5-6.3 (I think). I really like it but I would like to get a lens that has higher apertures. What kind of new lens did you get? I need to start saving for a lens with an f # like 1.8 or something.
We've always done low crowd seasons....it's lovely! Our son will start kindergarten in 2013 so it'll be interesting to see when we can take our trips.
Welcome along!! Glad you found my TR!! You can fit in AB no problem. New queen beds are wonderful and the kid would love the pull down bed. The worst part will be storage. There really isn't much. With us we were able to keep ourselves organized being a family with teens, so with little ones it may be tough, For the price with a family of 5 you can't beat it!!
I use a Nikon D90 and on this trip I had a 50mm 1.8 lens...not good enough for dark rides in my eyes. I use a 18-105 for my walk around lens and then change for dark rides. My 18-105 doesn't even come close to dark ride shots for me, even in raw format. I want a 30mm 1.4 for my next trip.
We usually go in Oct or December to WDW but with my DS playing football now, fall is out of the question! I love those younger kids days when I could pull them from school and just go! High school makes it tough.
Thank you for the reassurance.I was getting sad listening to everyone who said we couldn't do it. I can't wait for the next installment of your TR!
Nice! I think the 30mm 1.4 will definitely help with your dark ride pics. One day I'll like to get a lens with that kind of F stop. Until that day, I'll just make do with what I've got.
I can definitely see where it's harder as your kids get older. I told my DH that I should homeschool our son so that we could still go during the low crowd times.![]()
