combining resident tickets with dining

Am I in the right place to look for help? Resident 3 day tickets don't come with dining and I think it'll save a ton if I can manage both: )

Are you planning to stay at a Disney resort? Because the only way to get dinning is to at a Disney resort.

You would have to book a package at one of the Disney resorts to be able to have a dining plan. Disney is currently doing a room + dining plan package for the general public but you cannot book it online, you must call CRO and specifically ask for it. From what I've read (the details are kinds of sketchy at this time), you must pay the rack rate for your room in order to add the dining plan without tickets. A Florida Resident rate on the room + paying OOP for food might be a better deal for you.

Can you do that and get the FL Resident rate on the room? I know that you can do it with other package discounts. If you can do it, then great! If not, then sharpen your pencil and get out a calculator to see which scenario offers you the greatest savings.

Ah!

I didn't know there were FL rates on the room. I was calculating an MYW which is rack rate + dining and then the cost to upgrade at the gate.

I'll have to call WDW and then do more math.

If they tell me I can gate-upgrade, I won't be in for any surprises, right?

Hoping someone out there has already done this and can chime in...
