How are the crowds for Columbus Day Weekend? Are they big enough that it should be avoided or is it manageable? We would be there the whole week, Oct 10-17.
Thanks
We have gone twice during that week. It is a little more crowded than the other weeks in October, but definitely manageable. The middle of the week is much less crowded than the weekend and Monday, but it is still nothing like the spring break or summer crowds.
We'll be there that same week. Touring Plans has the weekend and Monday being moderate-heavy crowds but after that the crowds drop off to a moderate level. When we went the first week in June 2013 we found the crowds very manageable so hoping this trip in Oct. will be similar.
Crowds that weekend are larger than the weekend before/after but still well within the manageable range. About the only thing that really may affect you is the Food & Wine Festival which occurs around Epcot's World Showcase Lagoon. To minimize any inconvenience from that, plan on doing WS on a week-day Afternoon.
Went Oct 4th through 14th in 2013. The crowds were very light until the Friday before Columbus Day. That Friday got a lot busier and it stayed busy for the rest of our trip. As I recall, many people were shocked at how busy the rest of October was that year.
