First, a small vent: I am not too happy with DFTW right now! I had called the week I was able to book, a few days in advance, left 3 messages, and no one got back to me until the following Monday. Ok, that's fine. A few days, I got my date, no biggie. Then they had my e-mail address wrong and did not bother to contact me, so I had contacted them to see where my LOA was and they had said they had the wrong e-mail address and they re-sent it. Ok, still, not a huge deal. I sent my LOA in right away through Priority Mail and it got there on August 28th (they called me to confirm this). The deposit has been cashed. It is now September 9th and still no call from my planner, who I was promised to hear from within a week from the date the LOA was received. If I do not hear from my planner today, I will e-mail the coordinater and ask what is going on I suppose. So, as I rather impatiently await my planner's first phone call to me, I have decided to come here and get some advice from all of you so that I can be prepared! ;)

COLORS
This is a big one! I am trying to do a very matching color scheme and I want/need/no other option is a fuscia pink. I just love the fuscia bouquets I have seen on here and I love how the color just pops in photos. I have been looking through here, and everywhere really for a second perfect color to match this. I am having an Escape, hopefully a "reception" in the St. James Room (or, hopefully the patio), and a dessert party. I am looking for ways to incorporate the color into the day as well. I REALLY want my sisters, who are my maid of honor and my bridesmaid, to wear dresses from David's Bridal in watermelon or azalea. With that being said, I really wanted DF and his best man and groomsman to wear vests and ties to match my sisters. I am unsure if 3 boys from southern GA can pull off fuscia. :confused3:rotfl2:So, I thought of two options:

Option A - maybe incorporating either a pool or candy pink or a light purple sash into the girls dresses, and having the boys wear the color of the sash?
Option B - reverse option a - a pool or candy pink or purple dress with a watermelon or azalea sash and candy pink or purple vests/ties for the boys?

I am awful with matching colors, and cannot tell if two colors match or not. :cool1: So any advice on another color to incorporate would be much appreciated!

My other question is about invitations. I have seen so many brides on here create their own amazing invites, but I am not crafty. I have 0 patience! Does anyone know where I can get cheap invititations? Even if it's something where I have a blank canvas and can fix it up online and have it printed out and sent to me, that is fine, too. I really was interested in sending a folder with information on things to do, park maps, etc.

And while I am here...one more question! I had planned a 2:30 wedding, however, I am now booked for 12pm due to a wishes wedding booking the 2:30 time slot. I know I saw a thread about this recently, but nothing in it really stood out to me. Does anyone have any ideas on what to do in the extra time? This is what I figure:

12-1 - ceremony and cake
1 - 3:30 - photos with Misty
4-6 or 5-7 - dinner at St. James Room
6-8:30 or 7-8:30 - ???
8:30-9:30 - dessert party at Epcot

I am still debating on what time to eat, 4-6 may be better but then we still have 2 and a half hours of free time. I am opposed to naps! Especially since we are all staying all over the place. DF and I plan on staying at the Boardwalk, YC, or BC on our wedding night, so perhaps we can just sneak up to our room to freshen up and tell everyone they can go off for a few hours on their own and to meet back at 8pm? Or we can just walk around and have my father take funny photos. I plan on having an open bar, so hopefully everyone in my party is too drunk to realize we're walking around the Boardwalk in wedding attire for 2 and 1/2 hrs? :rotfl:

Thanks in advance! :thumbsup2

I can't help with all of it as I am a Wishes bride but I can tell you in usually takes longer than a week to have your planner assigned. Mine took 3 weeks (possibly due to the holiday season) last year. I have 2 friends that just got theirs and it took 2 weeks so I wouldn't worry about it to much. They will call you! :goodvibes

As far as colors go I personally don't like pink and purple together so I am suggesting what about a bright blue sort of like the color of this guy ;)

the only advice I can give here is to call, not email. Emails pile up and get ignored. Trust me you will get some sort of answer over the phone.

If you did the fuchsia pink with that aqua blue you could round out the grouping with a darker raspberry tone for accents. That would look good on men and they wouldn't complain too much! Lighter (or brighter) purples and pinks tend to wash each other out since they look so similar under some lighting. Picking colors more opposite on the color wheel or with different tonalities (light v. dark) can really make pink pop!

I'm not really a fan of pink and purple together either, but I also like the sound of a blue.

I'm also hoping for a 2:30pm ceremony time, but need to work out a time line if we get 12:00. If we get 12, we'll probably have a late lunch reception, and use the time between the reception and the dessert party to get more photos. :confused3 Depending on how many hours we book our photographer for... We'll probably disperse everyone in that time so they can freshen up, and tell them where to meet for the DP.

If you happened to be assigned the same WC as me (I am an Escape bride) she said she was going to be away from her office most of the week, as there are a ton of weddings right now...so that could be why it is taking awhile!

I would recommend if you have your heart set on fuscia, to use it more sparingly so it really gives the pop you're going for. It would look beautiful to have fuscia flowers with pool or teal blue BM dresses, in fact I just went to a wedding that was just like that and it looked great! You could incorporate a fuscia sash on them if you wanted, but I would try to keep it simple. If you went with a watermelon, I don't think it would really go with fuscia and it also wouldn't stand out as much. If you went with a fuscia dress, I would do white flowers, or white and green flowers, you want some contrast in your colors so that they all don't blend together.

As for the guys, they don't have to match the girls dresses, but I don't think guys would object to blue vests / ties, you could also do something neutral like gray or black vests and ties, or gray/black vests and blue ties.

Hope that helps!

The fuchsia and pool also sounds more appealing to me as well. We're doing a darker pink with more of a sage green. Feel free to check out the link in my siggie. You could also do fuchsia and champagne with limited splashes of other colors.

As far as budget invites try Michaels or Target. You can see some of the designs at Gartner Studios. Michaels has some great 40% off coupons too.

It took more than a week for me to be assigned my planner, they do it on a set day of the week, can't remember which day.

I went to my cousins wedding recently at Tavern on the Green and the girls wore lavender. The guys wore a black tux, white shirt, black vest and their tie and folded hankie in their jacket were lavender. As they were using a hankie in the pocket of their jacket they did not use a boutiner (so this would save on your floral). It looked really nice together and as it was only the tie and hankie they did not mind the color as oposed to a lavender vest also. It definately brought the colors together but did not overpower.

First off on the rant, I'm very sorry it was so frustrating. However did they say 7 days or 1 week. Often times they mean business days and with it being Labor Day, I'm sure they were super busy, and had fewer business days.

Now onto the colors...honestly I think the guys would complain as much (or more) about light pink or purple (light purple) as they would for fuschia. If you love fuschia, I say Knock your socks off, BUT I agree with OP's on how it sounds like you want it because it really pops...so use it sparingly, or else it will be overkill.

So here are some ideas for fuschia and corresponding colors:

Hot pink/fuschia and teal

Hot pink/fuschia and tangerine

Hot pink/fuschia and navy

and my Fav: fuschia, white and black --it will REALLY pop

:PICS WILL POST WHEN I GET HOME FROM WORK: If impatient just search fuschia inspiration boards
