No way, outside?
I'm sorry, but I've never been to this, and all I know about it is from seeing the advertisements on television. Can anyone tell me about this if you have been there. DD10 class is going there for thier field trip.
I was very excited when I came across this thread for Colorado. We live in St. Augustine, Florida but recently completed a small home in Westcliffe, Colorado in Custer County. We have plans to go to Coors Stadium for the first time to see the Rockies play in May. I would love some advice on where to sit in the stadium and best ballpark food.

I'm going to have to respectfully disagree. There are areas where the stair railings obstruct your view up in nosebleed, and you can't see all of the outfield in sections 105-109. Rockpile seats are cheap, but are backless bleachers. If you go HERE, you can click on a section and see the field from that vantage point. I like sections 331-334, sections 122-125 and all of club level (which is expensive, but it comes with perks like being served from your seat, an air-conditioned concourse and higher-quality specialty foods). On really hot summer days, sitting in the back rows of sections 205-209 is nice, because they're under an overhang and it's cooler. Sections 110-116 really bake when the temp is 80+ degrees. The third base side gets more shade during day games, if you're on the other side bring a cap to keep the sun out of your eyes. The sun will dip behind the stadium shortly after the start of most evening games. There aren't really any bad seats in Coors Field.

If you'll be here May 3rd, and you like races, consider the HOME RUN FOR THE HOMELESS You run/walk around the streets of lower downtown, and the final lap is once around the warning track. The vendors serve a variety of snacks (both healthy and ...not), water, soft drinks and beer, and each entry earns you two free tickets to a Monday thru Thursday value or premium home game between May 6 and August 13. They also give away autographed bats, balls, card, tickets, shirts, etc. at the after-race party to a small number of participants. Hey, my DH scored a baseball signed by Troy Tulowitzki last year, it can happen! It's a lot of fun and it's all over before noon.
I love the tornadoughs! they are a pastry slathered in butter and your choice of cinnamon/sugar, parmesan or something else which escapes me at the moment. There are only two vendors for them, one on the home plate side and one in the outfield, and both are on the main level. We usually go to Subway prior to the game and bring our food, drinks and peanuts with us. You can bring in food and plastic bottles.
Welcome to Colorado!
I know. I guess I just haven't been in any really bad ones. I haven't done the nose bleed seats in many years. I don't like the bleacher seats though. We are typically in sec 110-112 I think. Last year those were the some of the $10 tix you could get from King Soopers.

Are you planning on staying in Denver after the game? It is a LONG drive back to Westcliff from Denver...my aunt and uncle moved outside of the town three years ago, and we've been once to visit - it's supposed to take about 4 hours from Ft. Collins, but when we hit traffic it took us over 5 to get into town. It will be at least a 3 hour drive from the stadium, without factoring in stadium traffic. Good luck, hope you have a great time! I don't think I've had anything to eat at the stadium that I haven't liked!![]()
