Colorado DISers ... where are you ?

Oh I am all about a good margarita - we may just have to pop in.

So far I think my favorite drink has to be The Ultimate Hacienda from Hacienda Colorado !

YUM !!

I think I had one of those at Hacienda! I just remember it went straight to my head and we had to wait a LOOOOONg time and eat lots of food before I could leave :)

I didn't know they were taking away the drive in :confused3 :sad1:
I didn't know that either?

So who went to Kegs and Eggs this morning?

Talking about drinks, I think the best drink is the Sangria Margarita (with strawberry) at On the Border or the Malibu Margarita at Armadillos.

Kegs & Eggs ?! popcorn:: What is this place? Tell me more.

I didn't knwo the Drive-In was going either. That's too bad :sad2:

Who likes good breakfast burritos? Maria Eilana's on Wadsworth & 10th has great ones. :thumbsup2 I am dying for one but I've dropped 24 lbs and want to get another 20 so I am fighting the urges.

My DW learned to drive in the Cinderella City parking lot. :lmao:

Fantastic fun :scared1: :scared: I'm with ya.

have a great Colorado Day everyone.

YO

Good Morning fellow Coloradoans.

It was a wonderful walk into work..spring is in the air:thumbsup2

Breakfast burritos-the only place I've had them is a little whole in the wall on Broadway...not even sure of the name of the place. We keep talking about trying Chubby's for their burritos...but never when we are hungry:rotfl:

I gotta ask too....what is keg & eggs??

yup it is Fantastic Fun....scares me too...that's why I've never been there and never plan on going there.:scared:
DS has gone a couple of times as a guest of someone else but I've never set foot in the place. Every once in a while, I see a Funtastic Fun logo on the side of a vehicle on the road that looks like it is barely held together, so that always makes me wonder if they care for their rides better than their company vehicles.

I figured there would be no reprieve when the Englewood City Council actually moved on the proposals...but we so don't need more EXPENSIVE living options in this area...affordable, yes, but these are supposed to be "high" end apts. :upsidedow
Have you taken a close look at what is surrounding these high end apartments? Particularly to the immediate north on Santa Fe...

I didn't know they were taking away the drive in :confused3 :sad1:

It was supposed to be gone last year, then it got a reprieve for this past season. Basically the owners said it got to the point where the amount of money they were being offered was insane. I wonder how the residents are supposed to get to the light rail station.

Good morning to you too. Glad you had a nice walk in to work - I awoke to an inch of softly falling snow here in Monument and it's still coming down. :headache:

Good Morning Colorado. Here's what our work parking lot looked like this morning -- empty!

Funtastic Fun scares me, too, but I still go because the kids love it. :scared: It can actually be kind of fun, as long as you don't eat anything (food is nasty!), pretend not to notice the inch-thick layer of dust on any flat surface that's not routinely walked on or sat on by kids, and have the kids wear old socks. They're supposed to take off their shoes and their socks turn so black on the bottom that you don't even want to try to wash them, you just throw them away! :rotfl:

The cars you see driving around with the logos aren't company vehicles. They will give you a bunch of free entrance tickets if you put that logo on your car for a year, so those cars are likely just people who are big fans of the place. :rotfl:

Gosh, this is nuts. :sad2: I know entirely too much about Funtastic Fun, don't I? :sad2:

On another note, I woke up to sun this morning. Hope the snow blows over quick, I am ready for summer! But soccer starts next week, which means we'll get snow for the next few weekends.

I am sorry to you and Java...I often forget it can be beautiful down here and pitiful up in your area and vice versa.

When I said spring is in the air....I meant I know there is at least one more huge snow storm just waiting in the wings to surprise me but I do love seeing the bright colors everyone has been wearing this week.

Oh! Was it Santiago's? They have the best hot green chile smothered burritos we have ever found here in the metro area! :goodvibes

Oh, it's okay. I'm just glad that SOMEONE is having nice weather. :goodvibes There are a lot of good things about living here on the Palmer Divide, but Monument Hill is NOT one of them!! :)

I never put my "blizzard stuff" away until the first of June because you can never tell if you'll need it before then. It snowed on the last day of school last year (around May 25th).

Enjoy your warm weather!! :thumbsup2 At least it stopped snowing here.

Well, I am a displaced New Mexican, lol- when we moved here a decade ago we did an extensive search for real red and green chile foods (the good stuff, made pure without the pork!)...Santiago's is our winner so far for the last 6 years running :thumbsup2

Is their favorite a Tex-Mex place?

You know - the whole time I was growing up in Colorado - I always thought that we had Tex-Mex mexican food. Since moving away from Colorado - I have found that not to be true. I guess what we have in CO could be classified as New Mexican mexican food and is generally only found in CO, NM and parts of AZ.

(Yeah - I am way to obsessed over mexican food!)

me too!! I love mexican food:goodvibes

I don't think it's tex-mex....it used to be a Western Sizzlin (I miss that chain!!) on Broadway and Arapahoe....I just think it's bad. :rotfl2:

My favorite close to me mexican restaurant is Taqueria de los tres Reyes in the Woodlawn shopping center....though I am going to try Santiago's. Doesn't hurt anything (other than my waistline:laughing: ) to have a bunch of favorite mexican restaurants around!!

I think it's because Mexico (like the US) is large and their foods vary greatly from one region to another, and those differences carry over to neighboring US states. We all get used to one style and that's what we think of as the "right" way to make Mexican food. I grew up in Southern California and I haven't been happy with Mexican restaurants in Colorado in general (there are a few good ones, but not many), and I think the stuff from Texas is pretty horrendous, too! :)
