Colorado DISers ... where are you ?

Just went back to read 3 pages. Our favorite Mexican food is Armadillo with Santiago's a close second. My hubby loves HOT. What you might think is hot isn't hot enough for him. These two places are perfect for him.

SandyV, I have a daughter who lives in Monument. She would much rather come back to the Denver area because of all the weather you guys get.

There is a little cafe on the SE corner of Kipling and 38th that I have always wanted to try. I believe the name is Aspen (?). Looks like they might be known for homemade cinnamon rolls as they always advertise them. Anyone ever been there?

Went to the parade....oh my gosh that was the most disorganized mess I've ever been to!!

The kids were exactly half way through the parade and after it started a half hour late (at least) it was another 2 hours before the parade was half done.

There were 5-10 minute breaks quite frequently drove me nuts!!

18th and Blake was a good spot....COLD...but good.:rotfl:

Dh went to Arapahoe HS! Class of '82. (I didn't find my way to Colorado until I was 29).

Just got back from dinner at NoNo's Cafe! I had beef stroganoff, dh had gumbo and dd had REAL mac 'n cheese. That place is awesome!! :cloud9:

It WAS scrumptious! :thumbsup2 It's one of my favorite restaurants, but for some strange reason, we haven't been there in a long time. :confused3 I had forgotten how yummy it was, and so now I'm sitting here basking in the afterglow! :rotfl:

Their mac 'n' cheese is made with larger noodles, more like rotini, it's baked with real cheese on top, and they bring you a chunk cut like lasagna. My older dd is a Kraft fan, and never liked it, but my 5yo loves it this way, and dh and I have to agree with her! We're always sneaking bites of hers, because it's just so good! :rotfl:

Well, I don't enjoy grocery shopping either, but I'd rather do it on a Saturday night, when the stores are empty, than with everyone else on Saturday morning. ;)

I couldn't believe how crowded Kings was tonight....and across the street Safeway was dead!!

That does sound wonderful....does Nono's do take out??? It's getting so expensive to go out...so I will sometimes go somewhere and get take out and make it part of our at home meal.

We've never gotten take-out from them, but I think they offer it.

Happy Saturday night everyone.

We spent the afternoon at Southlands mall and then took the kids to see Horton hears a Who. It was very cute ! We all enjoyed ourselves.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend. Tomorrow is my grocery shopping day ! At least Dh will watch the kids so I don't have to drag them along too.

Hey everyone. How is everyone doing? I have been sick since Wed. I am so tired of being sick. It has been a rough winter for us. I don't have a fever so far today so that is a plus. :)

I have got to try No No's. I have had other people tell me how good it is too.

CoMickey, sorry I don't have any recommendations. My parents have a time share up in Estes Park and when we go that is where we stay. I did stay at the Stanley once on a girl scout Leader retreat. We had a blast on that trip! :)

IT'S SNOWING !!

youarehere, you can be an honorary Coloradoan!

Cristi, sorry to hear that you've been sick!

It's been snowing most of the day here in Woodland Park. Here's hoping for a snow day tomorrow!!!:thumbsup2

Got my grocery shopping done today. I guess everyone was out doing the same thing because it was packed at King Soopers this evening. My son keeping hoping for a snow day but I told him not to hold his breath !

It started snowing here (Boulder/Louisville area) around 5pm. Kids are hoping for a snow day, but Boulder Valley Schools hardly ever close.

Tomorrow is the 5 year anniversary of the blizzard of '03 (32 inches). Luckily we are only forecast for 5-10 inches. But you never know in Colorado.....

The 2003 Blizzard....... how can anyone forget that?!?! I had my son on 1-1-03 and shortly after that my hubby went over seas, so he was gone for that! Thank goodness my wonderful neighbor (that we didn't know to well) came and dug us out!!! There was NO way we could have gotten out our door, and thanks to him we could! He said that he only dug us out so he wouldn't feel bad using our shovel (townhomes and we were the only ones in our row that had a shovel)!

The girls, 5 and 8 at the time went out to play in the snow... I looked out the window and they were on top of daddy's car!!! You really couldn't tell where the snow ended and the car started........ WOW!!! Memories!!

I just got back from being out of town. I used to live in downtown Denver and recently moved out to Parker.
