Colorado DISers ... where are you ?

My favorite close to me mexican restaurant is Taqueria de los tres Reyes in the Woodlawn shopping center....

My DH just had lunch there for the first time last week based on the recommendation of his co-worker! He said he really liked whatever the dip/sauce was that they served- nice and spicy :)

(and as a little mystery side-note: the co-worker insists that every time he goes to the taqueria the owners children are always there, even during the day...so, are they home schooled at the restaurant? :confused3 Or maybe he just always manages to go eat there when they are off-track? :confused3 )

the only time I've seen the kiddos there is when there is a break of some kind...I don't think they are LPS but they might be on year round. The Master Chef around the corner is the same way...kiddos at the strangest times.

I work up the block from Woodlawn and while I don't get to eat out often for lunch (too dang expensive) I love the variety and quality I have to choose from....except of course the Taco Hut:sick:

Ok, yal'll are killing me. I'm starving. I've been good all day so I can have one meal and still be good. We live in Lakewood and are heading down to a show at Littleton HS tonight. Where is a good Mexican place to eat at down around that area?

popcorn::

I know what show you are going to!! I've been told it's fabulous!!!

I love Jose's....it's in downtown Littleton right on main st. My favorite is a #12...it is better for lunch when the "girls" are cooking but still yummy. ETA: I forgot...Jose's makes a marvelous margarita that they call the Italian Margarita.....yummmy!!

the Taqueria is on Littleton Blvd.....about a mile west of the school...it is a little dinky cafe though.

Some people like Don Carlos.....across the street from Woodlawn. It was okay....but it is more like a fish taco spot.

Down on Broadway & Ridge Road is another Mexican spot....supposed to have fabulous margaritas.

There is also of course the nasty one (IMO) on Broadway & Arapahoe Rd.

I know that there are a couple more in the area but those are the ones closest to the school.

Hope that helps!!

There is also Mi Cocina on Belleview & Windermere, just east of Santa Fe if you are coming that way.

We've never been disappointed and they deliver, so I can't complain. Their parking lot is often packed.

I only asked because my oldest asked if I knew how it was about a week ago. Is there something you recommend??

I've never had anything that I didn't like and I probably haven't ordered the same thing twice, so I think it is safe to just go with what looks good and you'll likely be happy.

Thanks!!!

It's funny to be a native and not have gone into some restaurants...that being one of them. :goodvibes

:) Hello fellow Coloradoans. Thornton checking in. We will be visiting DL next Saturday with our DD7. DD13 will be in Washington, D.C. on a class trip. In June, the entire family will be heading to FL for a 7 night RCI Mariner cruise, followed by a 4 night Wonder, and a 4 night stay at Universal's Royal Pacific Resort.

Morning everyone ! One day closer to the weekend !

Mrs Toad I didn't realize we had so many alpine slides ! I have only been to the ones in Heritage Square and Winter Park !

We love the area up near Rocky Mountain National Park/Estes Park. My son at least once a year has a karate camp at the YMCA of the Rockies in Estes Park and we get a cabin and do all kinds of fun things up there !

Do you have any good recommendations for cabins in Estes Park or RMNP? The guy I date from CA and I are thinking about renting one in Aug. and taking his kids hiking in RMNP. I've been to EP many times but have never stayed overnight. We want a 'real' cabin and are okay with something a bit rustic, very CO mountian style. TIA! :)

I'm a big fan of Oskar Blues in Lyons. The food is great and so is the beer.

Anyone remember The Gemini on Wadsworth near 38th? We used to love that place.

Benedict's on Arapahoe Road is a great place for breakfast or brunch.

Yep, remember The Gemini well and I too loved to eat there but haven't been in years. Loved their sunflower seed bread and apple pie with cinnamon ice cream...yum! Is it still there?

We always stay in a 3 bedroom cabin on the YMCA of the Rockies grounds. We really enjoy it there. I know you don't have to be a YMCA member to stay there (we aren't members). I think they also have 1 and 2 bedrooms available as well.

No, it has been gone for a while now. The service was really going downhill the last couple of times we were there but the food was always good. DW loved the cinnamon tea.

Who likes good breakfast burritos? Maria Eilana's on Wadsworth & 10th has great ones. :thumbsup2 I am dying for one but I've dropped 24 lbs and want to get another 20 so I am fighting the urges.

YO

I have always wondered about that place. Never tried it. Guess I will have to give it a go. I have lost a lot of weight and gained back about 20. I need to watch what I eat too.
