Colorado Cruisers

Hi Sandie, this is the REAL jiminyC_fan also another Sandy. Heidi is always so good to get out all those magnets and I save them each time and add more for the new cruises. Heidi (PoohFriend) is my daughter. We have a Littleton address but actually live in unincorporated Jeffco. Cristi lives very close to us. Most of us on this thread are from the LIttleton, Highlands Ranch area.

Better get going. We are camping this weekend. Should be a perfect weekend for that!

Sandy - I know your camping, so I hope your having a good time. Where did you guys go? I was hoping Nick would take the girls camping next weekend, but having a hard time finding anything :guilty:

Teresa, we belong to a private campground in Monument so we pretty much go there all the time. It was a "work" weekend for us. Ted washed and waxed the roof of the 5th wheel and Heidi and I shampooed the carpet and lemon oiled the wood. Next weekend (pray for good weather), we will wash and wax the outside.

Sandy - Sounds like fun (not! ;) ) Mounument just seems too close to go camping. I figure if it doesn't take us 2 hours, it's too close to Denver. I was still hoping Nick and the girls would go next weekend, but looks like that is not going to happen :guilty: Oh well...

I can reassure you, it's a lot of fun!!!! Because Monument is so close thats what makes it so cool, you drive 45 minutes to get away and relax and spend less time driving and more time relazing and having fun. I hate riding in a car, I get car sick!!!

Have you gone to Marshall Pass near Saguache, west of Monarch Pass? (I know how to pronounce that town, how about the rest of you? Most Coloradons know how to pronounce it but it is hilarious to hear how "outrsiders" pronounce this town) My sister, BIL, and I use to tenting their all the time, it is on BLM land, so secluded and so much fun!!!! (the drive is about 4-5 hours, southwest) Now we go closer to home (about 2 hours away from Denver) off of 285, not as nice but not as much drive time.

How was everybody's weekend?
Hiked the Dakota Ridge trail on Saturday, then went to Daniel's Park on Sunday. Such beautiful weather, couldn't stay inside!
This weekend we go to Grand Lake...

Daniel's park is beautiful!!!! I love it there, the view is gorgeous and the view of the castle is so cool!!!!

How long is the Dakota Ridge trail? Where do you pick that trail up at?

We started at Dinosaur Ridge on the east side just below the switchback on SH 26. I believe it was just over 2 miles out to the north end, but I don't know how much elevation we gained. It felt like a lot for my lungs that spent almost 30 years at sea level.
I think the view from Daniel's Park was actually better than from Dakota Ridge. You can see C-470, Bandimere and Red Rocks, but mostly you are looking at the foothills or Green Mountain. Daniel's Park has nice views from both sides of the East-West trail (though I could do without the suburban sprawl) and from the giant compass. Technically, the East-West trail might not actually be in Daniel's Park...

Heidi, sounds perfect for you!

Teresa, we like the location because we can get away every weekend even if it is a busy one. We have been known to drive back for a funeral and a wedding. Perfect location for every weekend. But...our favorite driving location is Grand Lake.

Sandy - I love Grand Lake area. I tried to find a campground for Nick and the girls at Green Ridge and Arapahoe Bay, but no openings :guilty:

Heidi - Nope, never been there. The only place we've gone that is that far is either Chapman Reseviour outside of Basalt or when we go to Pearl Lake (4 hours) I like the places that are about 2 hours away.

My weekend could have been better with my fantasy football seem sucking SO bad :earseek: I did go shopping though :goodvibes

Teresa- who did you choose for your fantasy football team?

Heidi - My team is majorily sucking right now. I have:

QB - Brees
Pennington
Frerotte

RB - Holmes
K. Jones
T. Bell
R. Droughns

WR - R. Williams
I. Bruce
D. Branch
K. Johnson

TE - T. Gonzalez
J. Putzier

K - J. Brown
R. Lindell

Defense - Pittsburgh
New England

We play 2 QB's, 1 RB, 1 WR and 2 Wilds, 1 TE, 1 Kicker and 1 Defense. My QB's haven't done anything, Priest Holmes has been a disappointment so far and I never seem to play the right players :confused3 After this past weekend, it can only get better..... right? :confused3

:confused3 Greek, all greek. Can you tell I don't know anything about sports? :rotfl2:

Good Morning Sandy! I would have been on earlier, but just got home from the gym. I'm actually wearing pants today... It's too early :guilty:

Heidi - We had a football draft (12 teams) and we had like 17 rounds to draft players. These were just the best players I could get for my rounds. Hopefully they will do better this weekend.

Hi again everyone,
I too have a fantasy football team. It kicked booty last weekend 99 points. I am in second place. Hope I do as well this weekend.

Tera- Do you live in Littleton? If so what gym do you go to?

We were in Glenwood Springs last weekend. Nothing quite that exciting this weekend. We have soccer (my 7 yr. old) every Sat. so traveling out of town is rare this time of year.

Can anyone give me some feedback on excursions? I was looking at the Atlantis Sub Adventure. I am cruising with husband, 2 girls 3 & 7 and my 84 year old father. I need excursions we can all do and my dad hates to be IN the water. Through Disney the age limit is 4 but if you go directly to the excursion place it is for 36 in and taller. (my 3 yr old is 37.5). Is Disney a real stickler to the age thing? I would rather book through them to keep things simple. :rotfl2:

Let me clarify something . When I say my dad hates to be in the water I mean he hates to get wet or swim in fact at 39 years old I have never seen my dad go in water. He does like to go in boats etc. :umbrella:

SandyT - We're in Littleton, but it's unicorporated Douglas County (Quebec & Park Meadows Parkway). I go to the Lady Fitness that is right outside my subdivision (Park Meadows & Acres Green) and love it.

Congratulations on doing well with your team. I only scored 67 this past week, so I need some major points to help catch me up. I'm 1 and 1 right now.

Which cruise are you doing again?
