Color Chip To Wear??

Fellow DISers,

Yesterday I saw a thread where someone explained the wearing of a Home Depot paint chip to ID other DISers in the park. I find this to be a smashing idea and would like more info. Sadly, I for the life of me cannot remember the thread....ergo, can someone fill in the blanks for me?

We plan on going in Sept and meeting some of you at the Carnation Brunch, but seeing others in the park would be awesome.

Thanks in advance, I have already learned SOOOO much from you people on how to make a Magical Trip. Can't imagine what it would have been like without the knowledge and experience here.

It was the "Alien Green" paint chip from Home Depot. It is in the shape of a Mickey Mouse head and is a lime green color. People attatch them their bag or somewhere on them for other Disers to see in the park.

I don't think they make them for us, but they're available as a sample I believe. I could be totally wrong though.

No, they don't make them for us. Home Depot has the Disney line of paint. You could make some on the computer too. Just make a Mickey Head (the 3 circles) and fill in with a lime green color. You might even be able to find some sort of Mickey Head graphic online that you could use.

Come to think of it, you could even just color a Mickey Head with a lime green felt pen on a piece of cardstock. The point is to have the lime green head on you as a clue you are a Diser. You could even write your screen name on it.

there you go this is how I make mine. I use card stock and self laminators!!

You can also easily make lime green Mickey heads on your own computer & print them out with your name & whatever else you'd like.

I did that in powerpoint & made magnets for our cruise & luggage tags. I didn't have laminating stuff, so I used clear packing tape - worked great (except you need to punch a hole for every layer of tape so you can put your lanyard, loop, etc. through the mickey head.

That looks like the same file I got from here sometime awhile back too. I have no idea either who posted it but it's a great template. I took it in photoshop and changed the color a little bit though because I have an aversion to that color of "computer green" and I wanted it less flourescent and more lime. I also put a different design on the back and put my screen name on it. I recently added 2 more "real" paint chip ones to make my LGMHs stand out more.

I guess I might as well post the pictures again for anyone who's interested in seeing what I did. I laminated it and hung it on my bag.

I absolutely love yours! I've wanted to try and do mine on the printer but ours is really bad quality and I know it would never work. I just really want to be able to have the Disney script on there for my screen name.

If you can see in the background, we also grabbed a whole bunch of the other colors from Home Depot and made a countdown calendar. It was so fun, and so cute. I am definitely doing it again to count down for September.

If anyone can't get to a Home Depot I have tons and tons of extras that I don't mind mailing your way.

And TrickStar Rider, I'll be there in September, so I hope to see you if you're going to be there anytime between the 8th and the 12th!

Not to promote my pin, but wouldn't a pin be easier and more convenient than the Home Depot chip? I recently started making my own pins to wear on my Disneyland trips, one of them is a LGM head pictured below. The material is lime green adhesive vinyl placed on a white paper background - there is clear plastic mylar on top. I've worn the Disboard pin on 3 different trips, and have not been approached . Not that I was expecting anything, just curious to see if anyone would comment .

Thanks Belle Ella! Yours came out cute too! I like your beads. I could never write my screen name on mine because my handwriting is terrible. Yours looks good though, almost like a font!

What a great idea to make a LGMH pin! I don't have a pin maker either though so printing one off the computer was easier for me but I really like your pins. I have never spotted a LGMH and we go at least once a month. Someone finally did find me though which was exciting.
