What's your favorite class? My favorite class was my educational foundations class, which is a requirement for being a teacher. It was sort of an intro to the education field. Very fun, GREAT proff.
What's your favorite thing about college? The freedom to do what you want when you want. The people are amazing too. All in all a good experience.
How does it compare to high school? It's very different. No one is breathing down your neck, it's all up to you to get everything done, and go to classes. Most proffs. don't take attendance so a lot of kids slack off and get in trouble. You have to take responsibility for yourself inside the classroom and especially outside of the classes.
What was your first day like?It was overwhelming. But after that it's been really amazing.
I'm going to a school in upstate New York, about 8 hours from my house on Long Island. So being so far away was really hard at first. But now I am on a 6 1/2 week winter break and I miss my college family! College is a great experience but you need to not go over board with the partying and you need to go to your classes or else when your grades come out you're basically screwed. I am so proud of myself for sticking through my first semester and working really hard, and I have really good grades to show for it. So just remember that when you get all this new found freedom. I've seen kids on my dorm floor getting arrested and going to the hospital for too much partying. So my rant is now over, be smart guys.
Oh and I'm majoring in English Education.
But you don't have to know what you want to do right now. Most colleges have a TON on general education requirements that you have to fill. I've already changed my major once, fro music education to English education. So don't worry about changing your major, just find what you love!
Good luck to all those applying now! Don't stress too much!
