College Program

I'm going to be a lifeguard and I'm requesting Chatham :) my number one choice was attractions but I'm happy to have the opportunity! I hope that I'll be working at blizzard beach or typhoon lagoon.

Congrats! That's so exciting! When I go (which is a long way away) I want to request Chatham.

You could work concerige in a hotel and pick up PAC (Parade Audience Control) shifts in the parks. They require no training and you can sign up for those on the HUB.

OOH I love that idea!!!

Those both sound great. I heard attractions you don't get too much guest interacation anyways. I think I'm going to request Chatham. Have a fantastic time!

Hmm... I think when I do it, I'm gonna request Patterson. I like the layout of it better.

Patterson seems nicer, but I want to be close to the bus stop. Even if I bring my car I'd like to save some money.

This is my problem too! I'm torn! Haha I've got plenty of time to decide, but still

IKR! I'v spent too much time thinking about this. Plus now The Commons is opened to the public. It's only a little more and has washing machines in the room. (I do my laundry a lot, so I'd probably be worth the money.) I think they only have EPOCT busses. I'm kinda torn....

SO MANY DECISIONS! I'll literally have the entire thing planned before I even apply. I'm thinking Chatham right now because of it's location to the bus stop and I'd rather not walk by myself to the bus stop at night...but Patterson is newest! And now the Commons and laundry and it's just so much :)

Haha me too and I agree!

Well, Patterson is literally right across the street from Chatham, so it's quite an easy walk to get to bus stops from Patterson, but I'd bring my car and USE it, because even though it costs more money, I wouldn't like having to wake up earlier every day so I can get a bus on time. I think The Commons would be hard to get a room in, even if you request it because I'm sure so many people want it and there's still all the international CPs that stay there too.

I'm reading this book called Disney University and it's so cool! It talks about how Disney treats and trains the Cast Members.

Well, I did talk to one girl in the College Program. She said that it is not even worth the college credit because you have to work (especially if it's a holiday) 18-20 hours a day. By the time you finish your work, she said that you would be too tired to go in the parks. I don't really know if I want to do it. I already know that you are most likely going to end up a maid or a waitress, but she said that it's even rare to get that because she had friends in the janitorial department.

I participated in the Disney Career Start Program (think Disney College program without the college) and it was amazing. I went from Feb 21st, 2011- Aug 14th, 2011. It was the best 6 months of my life.
I was a merchandise castmember at the World of Disney in Downtown Disney. I lived in Vista Way (it really is a great apartment complex, don't believe all of the rumors!!)

I would be happy to answer any questions about living in Disney and the Disney college program!

Oh ok thanks! Can you do it right after graduating?[/QUOTE]

Yes, I believe you can do it right after you graduate!

I thought more about the roles I most want and I came up with:

Concierge, Hospitality, Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique, Character Performer, Character Attendant, and Atttactions

I am super glad to hear your time at Vista was good. I kinda want to live at Vista. I'm not a party person, but really like how it's cheaper, the transportation hub, and close to many restaurants :) I'll PM you if I have any questions.
