College Program

I think you have to be enrolled in college first. I'm going to do it during my sophomore year of college because I'd definitely like to get one year (freshman year) out of the way before taking a break from college. But yeah, I think you have to be enrolled in a college before you do it, but I suppose you can do it as soon as you get to college too. :goodvibes

But can you do it right after graduating college? Like say you applied during your last semester for the coming fall, would they even let you do that?

Oh I'm sorry, I thought you meant graduated from high school! :rotfl:I think it depends. I think they'd let you if you applied in Fall and were already out of college by the time it'd be time for the program. I think it'd work as long as you applied while you were still enrolled in college. :thumbsup2

No problem! :thumbsup2 Ahh I just want to do it so bad it sounds so fun!

Anyone planning on applying for Fall Advantage 2016?

I am beyond excited, and it's really not that far away! :D

Definitely! I have pages of research :sad2: . But well, you've gotta be ready for it, ya know? :woohoo:

Ahh I'm reading Jess's Trip Report for her DCP and it literally makes me so excited I can't handle it :woohoo: In your off time you can go to Disney parks! And they don't even work overly long hours...AND THEY'RE CAST MEMBERS IN THE HAPPIEST PLACE ON EARTH.

I've been reading it too! I'm on page one hundred and something right now. Sometimes the hours can be pretty long- especially when it's not one like concierge, but there's still quite a bit of time off too and I've always thought it was really cool that CPs can get into any of the parks for free! I know what I'll be doing in my free time! :thumbsup2 Disney all the way! :woohoo:

My friend's sister worked counter service at one of the All Stars and had to get up at 3 am most days to be there in time for breakfast! So she had way long hours...but a job like PhotoPass or Ride Operations would probably have pretty average hours considering the parks aren't open ridiculously early or ridiculously late!

Yeah, but then again, you usually have to stay after the park closes, because CPs usually close the park and there's always Extra Magic Hours, where the parks stay open extra late at night. The Magic Kingdom could stay open until 2:00 in the morning, and then you could be there until 3:00 or 4:00 in the morning to close the park...:scared1: Or there's Extra Magic Hours in the morning where it could open at 5:00 AM so you'd have to wake up at about 3:00 AM.

Oh that's right! Well either way, it would all be worth it to work there..probably :thumbsup2:confused3

I think I'm going to request Hollywood Studios. The hours never go past minight, it has my favorite vibe, and most CP's don't request it so they usally grant that request.

I think Magic Kingdom would be worth it for many :) Just not for me.

It'll still definitely be worth it to work there! After all, you'd still be in the happiest place on Earth! :cheer2:

Jeez, It's a tie for me between two parks (Hollywood Studios and Epcot), so hopefully I'll have it decided by then, but I'd love both, so I really don't know! :confused3 :goodvibes

I don't even know where I would start to request it'd all be so perfect! I'd like to be a concierge like Jess because I read that that's the best thing if you want to go into Guest Relations later. But then again I would love either Hollywood Studios or Animal Kingdom!

I'm doing the college program starting August and I am so excited! :) I've heard nothing but great things from other people who have done it. I was a nervous wreck after my phone interview though haha luckily it only took them a week to get back to me.

You could work concerige in a hotel and pick up PAC (Parade Audience Control) shifts in the parks. They require no training and you can sign up for those on the HUB.

That's really exciting!!!!!!!! What role do you have and what apartment are you requesting?

I'm going to be a lifeguard and I'm requesting Chatham :) my number one choice was attractions but I'm happy to have the opportunity! I hope that I'll be working at blizzard beach or typhoon lagoon.

I'm lucky to have two older cousins who have done the CP and who are a fountain and knowledge (and are fine with my barrage of questions!) I'd like to work either Merchandise or be a Photopass Photographer. I don't think I'd be good at anything else!
