Collectable?

Not sure, but I think this might qualify as a rumor?

We were at Oga's, and our server put down several coasters; my s/o went to put his drink on it, but the sever yelped and told him not to as they're collectables.

The server came back with a whole stack of these coasters, which was a nice gesture but we're not really the collector type.

Are these coasters really a hot ticket item? Or is this an incipient rumor trying to become reality?

People absolutely collect those. I don't know that they are a "hot ticket" but they are definitely something people keep. I have one from Jock Lindsays, and I once ordered a mug from Oga's on ebay for a friend and they threw in a coaster too. There are several listings on eBay for them.

The server ar Oga's barely put coasters down on the table before they went in my bag. Has there been any new designs since last year? I could do with a fuzzy Tauntaun right now.

If you're not the collector type then those coasters are not worth much to you. Since the servers are offering a stack of them to each guest then their rarity goes down - so many of them out there. I wouldn't say they are a hot-ticket item but yes, those coasters are collectable. Check on eBay and you'll see people selling them.

And remember, people can ASK any amount. It’s the prices they’re actually selling for that tells you what’s they’re “worth.” Like all collectibles, they’re really only worth what someone is willing to give.

Kinda lol’ing that the server would tell people not to use a coaster for it’s intended purpose. Anyway it’s definitely something you can collect, seems like they rotate different designs, but they don’t seem to have much value on ebay.
